Most important to me and unlike a lot of meters, it looks like its sample/display update rate is decent.
Not a Bad Meter. I would however like for it to have a kickstand. But a good meter nonetheless. Thanks Ape for another great review. 73
Looking at the screen when you displayed temp, it showed both 19 degrees Celsius on bottom but also showed 67 degrees Fahrenheit on the top (smaller number) which is accurate. So, it shows both at the same time from what I see. Great review on the product, 73!
Hi Ape,
As an electrician I own a few meters and what-not, don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on this particular meter, but I don't like it.
I like the standard "big switch" on the front to change ranges, maybe that's just me.
Secondly, like yourself, I would never trust a NCV tester of any type, no matter who manufactured it, unless you have contact with the probes on some terminals, that is a large safety risk.
Awesome video!
Hey Mike. These auto sensing meters are targeted for beginners and folks new to making measurements. I’m like you and prefer the control you get with the big ole dial. As far as NCV goes I frankly wish they didn’t have them… thank for watching 👍
I have a similar meter. Try a long press of the function button to switch between F and C for temp.
Pretty sure I tried that to no avail but I will revisit. Thanks for the suggestion 👍
I like the Kaiweets DVM's. I have a couple of them. 73
Yeah, they perform well and won’t break the bank. Thanks for watching 👍
Visibility and readability are big plusses to that form factor, but it's hard to trust something without a big physical dial
It is nice to be able to see the screen but my personal preference is the manually set the meter 👍
@@TheSmokinApe I showed this to an electrician buddy and he said he is going to order one, but he buys meters the way I buy ratchets
My old eyes like the large display. How does it show up outside in the sunlight?
I looked at it outside but it’s not overly bright given it’s winter with somewhat cloudy conditions, it was easy to see…
I really miss a inductance measuring function.
I did but the types of meters measure capacitance and inductance via DC and using AC is more reliable👍
Wait I didn't see the cat..it's ok in Canada we use Celsius...I use google for that math cheers
Hello. I purchased one 4 months ago. Thanks for information. Much appreciate it. Stay safe. 73 Ruben KD6CWI
Don't need it, but now I have to get it. Picked up the DMM Check Plus from watching you; love it. Watching your MM videos, its like knives and flashlights, have plenty of them, but am always interested in another.
You said it, having stuff to fiddle with is “fun”. I do recall seeing the DMM Check Plus make an appearance in one of your videos 👍
