- Sky News host Paul Murray says the “defining image” of former US president Donald Trump’s assassination attempt will “ring out” around the world for years to come.
“Thankfully because of that much of a difference and the way his head turned,” Mr Murray said.
“The defining image of today is the image that will ring out on front pages around the world and will be remembered way beyond the natural life of the 45th and potentially 47th president.”

The flag in this case has obviously been photoshopped in. I mean, I support Trump but this photo is obviously faked. Unless I missed something in the video footage. Because I didn't see any flag in the background there.

Secret service dropped the ball big time on that preventative sweep!! Only six buildings within view of where the former president was standing, and they couldn't put somebody up on those roofs??? The guy crawled up there after trump took the stage. Witnesses tried to warn the secret service and the police for 2 to 3 minutes as he was crawling with a rifle in his hand on that roof. They looked at him like they were clueless of what he was trying to say. They were not vigilant. They were not prepared. Shame on them. And thank god president trump is okay. 🙏

That photo by that photographer should get an award (probably wont due to the subject) but its such a complex image. Beautifully centered image and its composition contains so many echos of other US images, e.g. the huge flag fluttering in the background, the agents around Trump like the image from Iwo Jima, the cluntch fist raised like Malcolm X (the irony doesnt escape me), Trump's face like Mt Rushmore, the overall composition of Trump and the relative heights of the agents is like the painting of Washington crossing the Delaware.
From a photography perspective, it is a brillant photo.
