Once again the dealers have their books 30-40% higher than I can get off eBay...so they still refuse to come back to reality. Feb 2023 isn't Spring 2021, folks ! Even that Wolverine 88 book is nowhere near as hot as it was like 4 months ago. No even close !
I need to dig out my Overstreet annual 1992 guide and look up prices for the sheer fun of it! I have the 92-94 annuals and I bought a Magazine style over street from 1982 back in 93 from a small comic dealer.
Nothing turns me off on buying books when everything is priced to the max. We all can walk into a shop or convention and know when prices are good or too high. I could easily drop hundreds when the prices are fmv. But I'll walk away empty handed before I pay well above what's reasonable 🤔 😉
Comic people always need to understand that you are not going to change a lazy dealer to stay current with market trends. I FEEL that comic people have been accustomed to having the product pristine, in order so they do not have to do the work it takes for every good deal or doing the research on what the item is worth. I truly believe that if you want the items, pull them, and make your offer. Be done that way. Stop worrying about dealers not doing their jobs properly. When I am at someone’s booth I just name my price and if they don’t take it then they can put the books away. I did my part to buy. The rest is up to the dealer.
I often wonder how much value has been destroyed in Marvel comics if one were to add up all the value of those "Marvel stamps" that have been cut out of *some* books (have no idea how widespread it was; to be fair, I don't think people at the time could've forseen the value of the comics they were damaging)
Also I try to do page counts check the staples. Check the centerfold. Check for cut outs. And if If someone shows me a cutout it’s usually free. The one exception is when I did not count pages and someone removed the mvs stamp page. That one hurt
I love ASM 601 one of my favorites and one that I proudly display on my wall. Classic all day. With that said, that book is not worth $100 for a raw copy. The upcharge is crazy and not worth it in my opinion.
I went to a comic con last week and got some great books cheap,I picked up AMS#4 CGac 9.8 first Silk Hellraiser#1,Wonderman#1,A Next#1 first American Dream 2 copies,Nightwing#93 the rape issue, Wolverine #27 the New cover,New Guardians#2 first Snowflake,Swampthing#90,Captain America #360 first Crossbones,Moonknight#35 all for $250 so I think I did good getting all those keys that cheap.
CLZ app has been the best app for me for comic hunting. At a certain point, you just don’t know what you have and in what grades you have them anymore.
I'm new to your channel. I would actually like to pick your brain if you have the time. I'm currently in the process of trying to trade some decent bronze and copper age high grade CGC books for some silver/bronze age stuff. I'm out of Louisville, KY(Southern Indiana actually) and I'm going to C2E2 at the end of March with my son. I have about 10 to 12 books I'm willing to trade that currently have a FMV of about $10,000. I'm hoping to get a CGC 9.0 IH181 WP. I wanted to get your thoughts about what I had to trade and any information you could provide concerning vendors that you have dealt with would be appreciated. Great channel!!!
@@Stickygoose thanks. I'm out of Louisville, KY and the smaller shows don't really have the mid to high grade books I'm looking for. If you don't mind me asking, what cities have you had luck with for the smaller shows? Love you comic book man cave. I'm just now getting into statues, but pretty proud of my book collection.
Well said, and your 100percent right....But on the other hand, sometimes I'll walk into a place like that and just gouge em, due to their laziness.... MUHAHAHAHA stay safe brother, and I hit yah with a subscribe 🤙
I’m with ya on this goose of the price is to far off from reality I won’t even waste my breath on an offer just keep it movin… and honestly love the best offer option on eBay is n the comfort of my own house with a guaranteed refund on the way home f I’m not satisfied… I honestly don’t know a collector would shop for a key at a con.. dollar bins are expensive me thing but 95% of keys on walls are laughable prices
Sticky, you would have gotten a CGC 9.2 ,but now will be downgraded to a 8.5 Why ? because you didnt talk fast enough ! especially at the very end of the video. :)
Your ending suck! lol Too quick man, let it flow brother. You know I am going to be a harsh critic, because I have been a friend and fan for a long time now. lol
I was the dealer, you forgot to mention we had a sign up saying if you didn't like our.price make an offer. You made one and we made a deal. Sorry you seem so unhappy with the comics.
I don’t understand why there is anger when u are using your tools. When I sell I have the latest overstreet guid and also will look up and show the buyer what key collector or eBay or WorthPoint shows. But usually the buyer is already looking on there phone. I have no problem with that. People need to lighten up

Nah u pull it u put it back.
Manners. If it was a store and you kept doing that, theyd refuse u service

You have an awesome take about things my dude. Really appreciate your approach, comes off genuine.
I appreciate that! People either love me or they hate me always been that way
Great video, honest content creator!
If someone is getting annoyed over how you use your phone, that their problem!
I appreciate that! That is the focus of my channel honesty
Just found the channel, and am really enjoying it.
Welcome aboard!

Love the local shows! You can always find some great stuff in the wild vs online with so much competition out there!
Looks like it was a nice event. Thank for sharing.
It was!

It is hard to do on the spot sometimes
People get mad about everything lol
True that!

I would recommend going to smaller shows to trade. I would say c2e2 will be very difficult to not get ripped off

they get angry when they see me with a phone because they think all im doing is looking up prices

How much did they have on the Catwoman 51?
200
