thanks man i just bought a 1975 olds royal convertible that was in a storage unit for 15 years the guy who owned it stripped the paint and didnt primer it and also took bolts out of the top i sent the top bars to florida and just got them back on the top works the body is awsume 73 thousand miles 350 cu in red with white leather interior yes leather in great shape i need bumbers there were no bumbers in the storage unit looks like i might be taking a road trip thanks again very helpfull

Thanks for this video man. I couldn't find nothin on UA-cam. I was gonna take this to the shop and get it looked at but this video gives me the confidence to do it myself. Looks simple enough. I'm getting a 75 caprice next week. I'll order the motor,relay, and L & R cable. And swap it out. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
Snake Black are you talking about the bow that connects to the windshield? if so have you reset your motors on the sides so they are working the same speed. then it's two adjustable screws on the elbows that will make them lay down flatter. What's you email I can send you a pic of the adjustment screws. also it's a rubber seal that goes in the front bow, that keeps water out.

i bought a new motor off ebay i thought was hydro electric. ..might b mistaken. .ive bought so much from them....im gonna get a custom color top,so i don't know if they got to install it or not...if i end up with astock color like black or white. ..ill do it myself. ..already got the pads and everything else
So when I drop my top the arms start to touch and I have to pull them apart to drop it all the way down, this also happens when I put it back up! The plastic guide the goes on the 2nd bow I think that's what it's called has broken off as well. Do you think it's the guide that has the arms touching now, when I drop the top and put it back up? Or do you think it could be something else?? Also before I lock the top when it's up the left side is lower then the right side by about 6 inches
hey ..it aint gonna hurt it...but if you can hear the motor running your relay is good. ..disconnect the cables from the actuators run the motor. ..if the cables are turning. ..there lies your problem. ..get someone to hit switch while u watch the ends to see if the turn
Hey brother I have a 72 Granville top works, but it’s not going forward enough to match the pivot points to lock it down. Windows don’t seal off. What’s your thoughts on this?
my front bow pins are not falling in place,how do i adjust it to go forward more. i adjust the latch to hold it down but guide pins are not in the hole
My top goes up and down fine but the driver side comes about 2 inches too far to close. Even if I try to pull it down I still can’t latch it. What should I check?
make sure u connected the motor and transmission together properly....u probably gonna have to go through the system and check everything. .. for stripped transmission gears,cables ends both sides gotta make sure the transmission nylon gear where the cables fit into are not stripped too...,actuators binding
Yea I did what u said about the transmission and put new grease in it and I replace bothe cables only thing I haven't done was replace the relay and check th gears on the side but since the trans was turning period Ima change the relay
How’s it going, brother? I got a question about my Top. I have a 72 Pontiac Catalina the top is in good condition but it don’t go up or down automatic You have to let it up and down manually the guy that I got it from said that he unhooked the relay Regulators so not sure if the relay is not working or something else is wrong. Just need your input on that thanks.

greg hicks so I got an update on my 75 caprice: I changed the motor,relay, and both cables. So now my top drops back with ease...now when I go to lift the top back up it stops about 1/3 of the way up and I have to get someone to help me. So I'm assuming it is the switch?? Would you happen to have a video on disassembling the dash?
Derrick Crenshaw no haven’t figured it out yet. I changed the motor and relay. Changed the gears and both cables. Still goes down good. Comes up for a few seconds and stops still.I’m ordering a switch this week.hopefully that’ll do it
My switch burned up. The top was working. I changed the switch and check the fuses and it won't work. I'm getting power to the switch and it clicks behind the seat. I have a 75 delta 88. What should I do next

greg hicks another problem I have is, the people that put the top on before I bought the car, put the material too tight on the back bow on the drivers side and it’s ripping near the window. The top shop in Columbia SC says I need a whole new top
@@sportiessc don't need a top just the rear curtain... it should be a 2 piece...the top ...then what they call the rear curtain which where the plastic or glass window is sewn to...that goes on first then the top is stapled glued on 2nd

I remove the câble from the motor but the ride Side go first. Sorry for my english, But i leave in a french country.
Could be a number of things...but I would start with the electrical side of the motor to relay since relay seems to be working...if you could bypass relay try that too..might be in the relay... see if the motor is turning ..if is could be stripped gears
go to ebay ...put in your model car plus convertible. ..should pop up....i think they use about the same pages for all the scissor tops regardless of year make model lol

WHats up guys, Im working on a 75 caprice with the same issues. Although I have not replaced any parts yet. Top goes down only if I start stop start stop. Going up, I have to completely pull it up by hand while holding the switch. How do I know if its the motor or transmission?

@@colbylovell6053 mine is doing the same , is there a way to let the top up manually? I just got mine and I let the top down and then I tried to let it up and it just went blank on me, I still here the click . It was easy to go down , and it struggled to go up and went blank after .

PLEASE HELP I have a 1975 Pontiac Grandville Convertible top was working just fine and just stop working out the blue I have got a new convertible top switch changed all the fuse's new relay and left and right cable top still don't work motor not spinning at all I'm lost at this point the clicking from the relay I know it working motor I had tested by carquest and its new its working spinning both sides just fine have the dash out checking everything I'm not sure what else to do but have a shop fix it and over charge me ON PARTS AND LABOR please help anyone
Cooling man bro my 72 delta 88 top was working fine but only one side was going yo you had to manipulate the passenger side to it to punk ass mechanic now nothings working I followed your video relay is clicking and the passenger side cable is snapped (tried to jb weld just to see if that would work still no movement)... need help bro

thanks my motor is new I did get a rely hope that works 1975 Chevy caprice . so the top fuse needs to be a 30

My 73 delta 88 drivers side will not bend like it's stuck.. so it won't scissor. . Can I bang it to loosen it never did before
Also, did you cut holes in the back seat quarter panel covers for those speakers? I'm looking to get better sound in my 1975 LeSabre Convertible

check fuse 1st.....to take switch out on on my Pontiac, i had to remove the dash panel
Want to add...that the fuse that i speak of is actually a 30 or can be a 40 amp fuse RELAY.. hard to find in auto parts store but are on line

It's an aftermarket rain gutters you can buy that direct the water to the quarters

i checked the actuator looks good took it apart. Cable broken
