This is something I like about Drew Brees. Even though most people who are huge fans of different NFL teams, which includes, the Chiefs, Patriots, Broncos, Saints, Steelers, or the Packers, this is the one good Christian quarterback that doesn't talk smack about anybody and always plays his hardest out there and cheers for his teammates when they do really great. But believe me. I wish a lot of quarterbacks in the NFL were more like him.

As a scuba instructor, I know a bit about gas physics. Funny how the ideal gas law only effected the Pats footballs that day. I don't know how much effect that it had, (not much that day, since they continued to spank them after the balls were re-inflated to the proper pressure, although the Pats fumble stats are worth raising an eyebrow), but I have no doubt that the balls were deflated, on purpose, at Brady's behest.
Trident Diving When you take a ball like a football from cold to warm environments like they did it will take a bit of time for it to affect it. They checked all of the balls of the Colts first, and then did the Patriots instead of doing them at the same time. You can check the science of it and run the calculations of it as well and you’ll see that the balls psi matches the math and the actual measurements.

It's really hard not to like Drew Brees, just like Manning. So many people argue between Brady and Manning, but Brees should be right there with them...the guy is just incredibly gifted and trained to play football. He probably isn't as loud as Manning or Brady, but he's definitely not shy.

This shows how stupid the entire deflate gate scandal is. Doesn't matter how inflated or deflated a football is. The only reason why this "scandal" caught on is because it's the Patriots. If the Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, or Peyton Manning and the Broncos did this, nobody would care
Even Aaron Rodgers said that he likes inflating his balls a little more than what is legal and says he hopes the refs don't notice. It's not a big deal at all, but everyone is making it out to be one.
Seriously. If it was such a huge deal, the fine would be more than $25,000. You can get fined for more than that for celebrating, unsportsmanlike conduct, or a bad hit or block.

This means a decrease in temperature results in a decrease in pressure. Balls inflated inside at high temp and taken outside into colder temps result in less pressure.

@@Tubalcain422 No, the colts balls were also deflated but the league has a range of acceptable psi. The colts filled theirs to 13.5 psi while the patriots filled them to 12.5 psi. Both are acceptable pressures, however after deflating from temperature changes the colts balls were at about 12.5 psi and the Patriots balls around were 11.5 psi. It happens more than people think, just no one seems to notice.

Another strong proof of the Patriot script is the otherwise inexplicable ban on Drew Brees ever reaching the Super Bowl. This is why Saints were robbed so astonishingly by the zebras in the 2019 NFC championship game. No way the league is allowing Brees to tear up the scripted Patriots in a Super Bowl - which would certainly happen to the little darlings if they ever played him. Although the script allows the Patriots to lose, occasionally, it does NOT allow them to be humiliated since this would make 'patriotism' seem weak. Only Drew Brees has ever managed to thoroughly humiliate the Patriots despite the script. For this reason he will NEVER be allowed to play them in a Super Bowl game. Let's read a 2009 article:

*So we can correlate this massacre that occurred in 2009 to the recent bizarre ending of Saints playoff games. Brees can play a perfect game at QB and he proved he could destroy the Patriots despite the scripted elements. The league is NEVER going to allow a Saints/Patriots Super Bowl, therefore. This is why we were treated to the most bizarre non-call in NFL history at the end of the Saints/Rams playoff game last year.
Patriots are like the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. It's fake. People ought to grow up and realize this. 100-1 when leading at halftime? Do you understand how completely impossible that is without it being scripted? The league average for this stat is about 75% - meaning that teams lose one in every four games where leading at halftime. Do you REALLY think one team is capable of defying this to the extent of losing only one in every ONE HUNDRED games???

Whether you can tell the pressure of a ball by holding it is irrelevant.
Footballs are checked inside pre-game at ~70F (varies by building, but Gillette's locker-room temp is maintained at 71-74F per the HVAC settings).
But not every game is played at that temperature, so the pressure WILL fluctuate accordingly.
QBs don't play with footballs that are the same pressure all the time, it just isn't possible. If a game is 50F the pressure will drop by 1psi from the pre-game check. If it's 30F it'll drop by 2psi. If it's a hot 90F game it will rise by 1psi.
What this means is that EVERY QB is actually used to a range of pressure, not just pre-game settings.
Brady didn't think anything of a 11.5psig ball in 50F weather because he's played in that weather and used footballs at that pressure many times before.
Dam....Andy caught that pass like a champ.....My Chiefs should pick em up..we need some wide outs
