- In this video we will review another car brochure from the past: a Toyota LiteAce Wagon brochure from August 1986.
In the previous car brochure review video you all picked massively for the LiteAce Wagon.
So thank you all for voting, and as usual you can vote again for the next car brochure to review in the comments below. The choice is basically as following:
1975 Dutch Mazda 121 brochure
Dutch Mitsubishi Starion brochure
Complementary episode (part 2) with the MasterAce Surf and TownAce Wagon brochures
First I’ll give a little bit of background information on the LiteAce family. The car brochure we are reviewing today is the third of the M series LiteAce. This new platform has a designation of M30, M40, M50, M60, M70 and M80. The utilitarian M50 to M80 even remained in production till 2007! The LiteAce was sold through the Toyota Vista dealer network.
As usual, the scans of the brochure can be found on my website:

There is something magical about Supercasual being a trim level. Great video!
Voting for Starion to be the next star (i) on the show!
+Tieto thanks for the compliment and the voting!
Maybe the super casual is so magical because it's casual? 😋
becoming a little bit of a van nerd after owning my l400 delica super exceed for 2 years.. this video is awesome!
If you want Left hand drive Masterace / Townace
USA has it called Model F Or Van LE
If you want Left hand drive version of Liteace
Philippines has tons of these
amazing how toyota could achieve body on frame and unibody on the same chasis, nowadays from a manufacturing point of view no automaker would do that for car of that size
darkcorsair247 it’s wasn’t convenient I’m guessing it was getting expensive. Same as MR2.
Until now i still have this car. But rear aircond already dead. Atleast this car can still go at highway for like 120kmh
Great video! Id LOVE to see a video on the Nissan Vanette especially the C22
Thanks for the compliment! It's time to source some Vanette brochures then! 😆
@@banpeinet oh gosh!! Didnt expect to receive a response this soon! Greetings from Malaysia my friend. Im a huge fan of vans. Recently got a trashed up C22 so im restoring it from ground up. Vanettes are a huge deal here in Malaysia. We had productions of the C22 right until 2010. Its a shame Malaysia being the largest user of C22, but we never got amy fancy models except for the regular entry level ones. If only we had the Vanette Largo or SGL here in Malaysia, would have been dope!
Fantastic vid Art, Lets see the Starion next.
Another vote for the Starion! Thanks! :)
Very entertaining and useful information about Liteace, some countries didn't have all those options, just came in poverty spec'd only
Wow, very rare to find these, yes? And the little wagon is so cute.
+Super Trini Gamer yes, I've searched the Japanese auctions and only one liteace wagon was put to auction in the past three months. It was a 4wd gxl with 3y engine, so actually a pretty desirable one too. It didn't sell with no bids placed.
@@banpeinet you should've bought it!
I have this brochure and two liteace love this car great video
Two of them? Which ones do you own, if I may ask? 😉
banpeinet search in Facebook matsuhiro Sato or Instagram liteace_gt
Thanks! I just found you on Instagram and sent an request. In the description I understood GT and FXV! 👍
Brother I have townace 1987 royal lounge in Pakistan.
These are great Vans for family and long routes picnic e.t.c.
There's still so many lite ace here in the Philippines. The pick-up type and and the vans, some of them are still fresh.
I would love to see them IRL,b but that will have to wait till after the pandemic😉
In Philippines
The LHD Km36 Liteace is Equipped with 5K Engine carburetor type
Thank you so much !!!
beautiful beautiful
Not wacky they are brilliant
there goes the liteace! the one i ripped the radio and rest of the stuff where from a blue SW. such a cheap model helped me so much to complete the celica. i love those pioneer lonesome car boy radios but i wanted the cheap one :D those are fujitsu ten by the way. and those auto cover beams. i hope to find a set for cheap someday.
i vote for the starion!
Thanks for voting! :)
Ah, I was under the impression they were Hitachi units. The one in my Carina is an official Toyota unit from Hitachi. So I stand corrected here!
I remember the Toyota Liteace. I find the JDM version by far more attractive than the American version that was sold in the USA back in the 80s.
I fully agree!
I don't know why, but I've always found JDM Japanese cars more attractive than what was sold here in the USA. They have more interesting features that (I think) should've been made available for USA market cars.
There is a jdm version of toyota van LE and its called Masterace Surf or Townace
Lol. So embarrassing. My 6 cylinder car could never spin the wheels like that van @8:58. Btw, love that music @5:55. Vote: Starion
I think all you have to do is weld the differential... I don't think the GXL came with a LSD. ;)
The music is from the UA-cam music library and called Don't Look by Silent Partner (the 4:25 version)
You know im attracted to these minivans
I like toyota liteace....
nice :D gotta say im not too sure how comfortable would be to sleep in these folded seats, seeing how it goes up and down haha. also that pioneer headunit seems to be a fx-k5 one, i have one, the whole display area can indeed fold down, revealing the cassete slot, balance and fader sliders, and i think there is something else besides that aswell. its one of these component units, even the am/fm module is a separate box, and ofcourse it doesnt have an inbuild amplifier...basically one of reasons why i never actually used it in any car, way too many stuff to install, not enough space for all this lmao
for the next one, even tho id like to see the cosmo, i going to vote for the remaining van brochures. i allways thought theres quite alot of them even tho all of them kinda feels the same, so i want to see the differences :D but seeing the amount of starion votes i guess thats not happening now hahaha
talking of brochures, after a while i recently bought some too, since i recently bought a japanese car after a while, a nissan bluebird t12 (called auster in japan), i was looking at the japanese auctions for the stuff related to these cars. there was basically nothing to noones suprise, but there was a set of 3 brochures, 1x preface and 2x facelift models, all for 1000yen, so i had to get it :D these actually going to be my first japanese brochures too lel
One vote for the other wagons/vans it is! Thanks for voting!
I tried to find which headunit/radio it was, but I couldn't find it myself. How did you manage to track that one down? :o
I saw your new Bluebird on Instagram and it looks great! Any plans for it yet?
it was a pure luck, i found a ad for it on czech auction site, and i won :D also seller was located not even a kilometer from my old adress :D it comes with the fm/am unit, and also that thing where led lights moves in music rhytm, i dont remember the correct name for it in eng, all fully functional, seller even hooked it up and showed me it really works wich doesnt happen too often :D if i remember right i payd around 1100czk (+-43eur) for everything so it was a pretty awesome deal :D
thanks :D im very happy about the bluebird so far, i bought it as a "daily" (i hate that term as it sounds like i going to drive it without any maintrance till it fells appart wich is deffinitely not happening lmao) . i kinda begun to like the AT in the kadett, but kadett would use lots of work and i dont feel like going trough another "resto", so i got this, and its an AT :D. and i wanted to get back to japanese cars at some point so i decided to go for this as its in very nice shape, no rust at all etc :D fun fact is im the first owner in cz, if we dont count the importers/sellers, it was imported from switzerland this year :D
it going to stay more or less as is, with some small mods here and there, after the winter ends, i will import some wheels from japan for summer, something decent tho, also i noticed there seems to be a preparation for front fog lights, so if i will ever get the proper dashboard button (wich gonna be quite hard since only like 10% of all bluebirds had the front fogs from factory), i might put back my yellow cibies to use :D i also going to rework the audio system abit etc, simply a small stuff just like i did with a sunny, nothing radical :)
+gred cz hmmmm, maybe you mean a spectrum analyser?
Sounds like as pretty awesome deal for 43 euros! 👍😀
i checked and its a power level indicator :D this one also says "auto sound leveliser", its an ASL-E03 unit :D
I vote for the Starion!
+Nakilad thanks for voting! 👍
Wow! So many votes already for the Starion! 😨
I want to buy this van. Where I get it? Please help
1986 Toyota Liteace Restoration Van Seats
Mitsubishi Starion pleeease! :D
+Ceatra thanks! Your vote has been counted! 😀
banpeinet Thanks Banpei! Quick question, did you end up measuring your cars CO2/g per KM?
+Ceatra no I didn't, but I made a rough estimation based upon the fuel usage and substracted the CO measurement done at the inspection. But this is a very rough estimate...
banpeinet could you tell it to me please? Just to get an idea on how ISV I'd have to pay (A one time tax that we have to pay when importing a vehicle)
I sent you the estimate a few months ago:
"Theoretically 12 kilometers on 1 liter means a CO2 output of 191.96 g/km. So the emissions of CO2 is not worse than a new BMW 7 series."
And later I found out that my actual mileage was closer to 11 kilometers per liter, so the estimate is 209,41 g/km. The measurement was 13.7ppm CO2 versus 0.34ppm CO at 2000 rpm, so that's about 4.77% less CO2 output. The final estimate is 199,42 g/km then. The first estimate was close. ;)
I have the DX 🤣🤣🤣

m30 liteace is also popular in the philippines
+エイジ野崎 thanks for letting me know as I didn't know that! Which ones are the most popular? The 4wd ones or the ones fully specced out?
banpeinet these vans were cheaper or less expensive it costs 95,000 or 350,000(for the GXL Variant)
+エイジ野崎 Thanks! That's quite a price difference!
banpeinet the pano roof model is GXL premium
I love the lhd versio
