In today’s episode, Becket talks with Dr. Denny Burk, president of The Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood, about the recent Revoice conference held in Dallas, Texas. Revoice is the organization of Christians who maintain a belief in Biblical orthodoxy related to sexuality, but still identify themselves as “gay,” or “queer,” etc. We get into some of the shocking things that were said and done during this conference (e.g. Organizers handed out name tags and instructed attendees to select a sticker with their preferred pronouns to wear and tote bags/tees with slogans such as “Queer Today, Queer Tomorrow.” Speakers frequently referred to “sexual and gender minorities” along with terms such as women “assigned female at birth.” One presenter was introduced using “they/them” pronouns and wore a black T-shirt w/ the inscription, “Imago Dei” in transgender flag colors. This is an important episode for the church.

Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from Austin College in Texas, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.

The Bible says, there will be a great falling away. These people that are falling away once belonged to God but have chosen to fall away.
I believe these pronouns may be referring to the demons they are carrying... these people are literally giving up their identity so that these demonic spirits can be acknowledged. If they/them is being used, it is probably because there is several demonic spirits.
You are really an encouragement to me. My children are all rejecting Biblical truth in general, and particularly concerning sexuality. Now my best friend, who is a pastor’s wife, seems to be abandoning the faith and following women like Glennon Doyle and Jen Hatmaker, and she recently attended a gay pride parade. I feel alone in my devotion to the veracity of Scripture and its authority over our lives. I really appreciate the way that you are boldly standing up for Truth, no matter the cost to you. My daughter is 12 and has no interest in boys and is always asking me questions about gay relationships with girls ect and how it isn't bad ect I always grew them up saying not to hate anyone and love everyone the same but I don't know how to handle this situation yet I don't want her hating me or blaming the Christian faith in general so very tough situation I'm in and how to handle I have been praying 🙏 and will pray for you as well
Sometimes it seems like I left this country and came back 100 years later to find the United States in this insane mindset where all common sense has been thrown out the window. It’s like an episode of The Twilight Zone.

I am Elijah of Malachi 45-6 and that means any discrepancies in the Bible are decided by me. Matthew 19:12 says God for first same-sex relationships. Cook is a demon hybrid lying to you on purpose because they can only take you by getting you to believe lies through your own free will and you are currently falling for it. I am the forerunner to the return of jesus. Same-sex marriage is not only not a sin, but God prefers it!

I feel your pain bro. I’m a convert from queerdom to Christianity and once you truly understand Gods law you are so blessed to follow Jesus and abandon your desires for what is unholy. So it’s hard when people think they are being kind by not following the teachings of God. As a proud hasbian I love Jesus and I want to help other suffering queer folk know the only options are NOT abandon God for your desires or struggle internally hating yourself forever. There are other options.

The great news is I’m engaged to an amazing Christian man now who is nicer to me than anyone I’ve met. These people who are homosexual, are a small group. Why do we argue with their orientation when we have our hearts and minds full with giving the Gospel to people who can hear it?? Why argue when we can spend our time caring for everyone made in God's image? Wish we could leave this issue to the government. We have more important things to do.

Disagreeing is not the same as being unkind, hateful or abusive. It's so hard to understand why we can't disagree.
I think it’s just part of the end times we’re starting to see. God told us we’d be hated and rejected and so on. Don’t lose hope. Even if we lose everything we are still better off, for we will one day be with Jesus!
That’s exactly what I said to someone who is in the lgbtq. I clarified that I’m not coming out of hate and condemnation. It was hard at first to have a discussion but then she came to understand what I meant by why I have to disagree and not compromise my faith and standing with God. And that that doesn’t mean I have malice for them or something.
Unfortunately, ANY disagreement with the official viewpoint is deemed hateful to silence the opposition. Don't fall for it. If someone has a problem with booze the family member who tells them to lay off the sauce is the one being loving, not the family member excusing the behavior.

I accept conservatives as being actual Christians. I love them and pray for them. Even though they call me unkind, hateful and abusive names. And they claim that neither I nor my church are actually Christians.

But I work at not throwing the hate back at those who throw it at me.

Well, my city - Glasgow - host city of COP 26 2021, has just been announced the First Feminist City in the UK!🤷♀️ The motion stated: "Women should be at the heart of all aspects of City Planning, becoming the first city in the UK to embrace Feminist Urbanism."(?)🤷♀️ Nope, me neither.

So many 'christians' today are so concerned with hurting people's 'feelings' with God's truth that they're 'loving them' right into damnation. That is what I find so sad for many. I came to God for mercy and forgiveness after His Word tore my self-image apart with it's truth! That hurt, but I am now the better for it. It was/is a loving hurt, if you take my meaning.

So many old-man behaviors remain present in our Christian walk; fear of man/people pleasing, introvert (a preference to be alone/not fellowship), and an eating disorder are 3 personal binkies that I WRESTLE with every day. I realize these are behaviors and habits I developed as a result of my experiences growing up, and that I now have my Savior to lean on, but, MAN!---all I can say is the struggle is REAL. HOWEVER, I do have to say that since I discovered you here on UA-cam and listened to your testimony (about 2 months now), I have been given much insight into my old-man ways, and I have been greatly encouraged that God will complete what He started with me. I love this truth “that’s not what we do in church” when he was referring to how churches are unfortunately encouraging people to accept sin.
Once I listened to Becket I realized that this is the same as if a heterosexual person built a community, identity and sexuality for Premarital Sex Urges, and then demand acceptance from every religion that asks for you to be married in order to have sex and to also define themselves as a person by their premarital urges. It actually makes alot of sense. I now want to privately pray for personal friends and family, and hopefully if they are able to be freed through Jesus Christ and truly turn to God, they won't get more backlash from the lgbtq community than they can handle 💖
Love your videos. I am eastern Orthodox now and adhere to the ancient Christian church bible values. Everyone wants to change ideas based on their own personal needs. God is unchanging. Some people are confused about liturgical worship but it is original and ancient and refreshing
Same here. My husband is an Ethiopian Catholic but I joined Ethiopian Orthodox for the very reason they haven’t changed a thing in 1700 years. They even sing the same songs (mezmurs) and liturgy that was penned by St. Yared from the 400 AD.
Too many churches today make changes to fit modern society and that is problematic.
I am sad to hear this video and have seen Protestants and Catholics try to embrace modern sin.

Exactly! "Would you call yourself an adulteress Christian," or a murdering Christian, or a fornicating Christian, or a lying Christian (input the sin), and then call it holy? No! We are told to turn from our sins and turn to Christ. Then we can say, "we are washed, that is what we were..."

I was raised in an Evangelical church where my father was a pastor. He was the same godly man behind the pulpit as he was at home. Fast forward. My brother Jeff wanted God to accept his homosexuality so he looked for a seminary that was inclusive of gays. He became an ordained minister of the United Church of Christ which is a “progressive” church in Chicago. There are pro-gay sermons & church marches in pride parades. They also speak about being pro-abortion from the pulpit and other woke, social justice (non-biblical) issues.

My church Lea Joyner United Meth Church in Monroe la. Was founded with a woman pastor Miss Lea. In the 30s. Our church in the 80s became the largest methodist church in the nation w a female pastor. Unfortunately in 1985 Miss Lea was murdered at church by a mentally ill young man she had been counseling. Now fast forward to the present. Our church has voted to break away from the United Methodist due to their recent conference decisions to teach the false doctrine of same sex marriage and gay clergy. I am very pleased to see my church make this difficult but completely necessary decision to prevent us from becoming one of the many FALLEN CHURCHES God warned us about in revelations. We are joining the Global Methodist Conference now. God bless you.

I have a friend whose daughter has bought into the agenda and is raising her stepson who is a boy as a girl and her daughter and her daughters fiancé are forcing this child to be trans .. so they allow my friend to see the child and when he is with her she reads him Bible stories and talks to him about Jesus Christ and he loves her, but then she was denied access to him because she wouldn’t use the gender pronouns and in that case I told her use the pronouns so you can have access….but I think that is the only situation where I would encourage usage of the pronouns. So sad. Please pray for Wyatt 7 yo, who even the school psychologist at his school has shared he does not display any girl identifying behaviors, and though they dress him as a girl, when he gets to school he doesn’t want the girl clothes. It’s is SO tragic! And heartbreaking

EVERY believer struggles w something & though lesbianism/homosexuality hasn't been an issue w me, other character defects/sins have.
Please pray for my son who after many years of prayer began going to a local church, got baptized, began fellowshipping there, reading his bible, for over a year then didn't like the Pastor preaching that homosexuality was a sin so my son left & hasn't been back. I told him we as believers cannot pick & choose from God's holy word what we like or not.

1st, when I hear Wayne Grudem cited and praised, I sit up and take notice. His book “Systematic Theology” has been a great companion in solidifying my doctrinal understanding. Great book, not a fast read, but so very edifying. Highly recommended.
2nd, your distinction between ‘celibate’ vs ‘chaste’ was such an eye-opener for me. Celibate focuses on self-will, self-motivation. Chastity focuses on God’s directional plans. “Be holy, for I am Holy.”
3rd, your illumination (in your vlog with Christopher and Rosaria) on the invasion of Darwinian and Freudian philosophies into mainstream Christianity. The manifestation of 70’s creed of “if it feels good, do it”. And here, as Dr. Burke explains around 28:19, how an individual is the authority on their own gender, their feelings and lusts being the determining factors over God’s design.
What absolutely floors me is that 10% of the population has steamrollered over the other 90% demanding not only acceptance, but celebrating and promoting their marginal and oppositional agenda. Sheer hubris and insanity. I went to a supposedly evangelical “gender-affirming” church with a “celibate” but not “chaste” homosexual friend. He is clinging to his gay identity even though he’s not acting on his desire. He also hasn’t kicked that desire to the curb, much like a porn addict who only views porn on the weekends over every day, or a fornicator who doesn’t engage in intercourse, but it’s all they think about. So this church I visited was totally about ‘affirming’ peoples’ orientations. Almost no mention of “pressing on toward the mark of high calling” or the immutable standard of the Lord. It was all about “being homosexual is ok…” and “God loves you no matter who you are…” Later, I asked my friend, “What about Jesus?” God’s standard isn’t elastic. We must fit into Christ, not fit Jesus into whatever beensy corner of our lives we want to cram Him into, so He doesn’t cause too much upheaval!

I listen to a popular current events and politics podcaster whose episodes will randomly not show up on anyone’s feeds. Like several people will say they didn’t get the notifications and have to search for his channel. But then UA-cam will reverse course and we’ll start getting the notifications again.

Beckett, I always enjoy your podcasts. Your book in Japanese has sold about 300 copies in the first two weeks since coming out. We hope to hit 1,000 copies by spring and 2,000 by the end of 2023. The Japanese market is much smaller than America, so that is good. Now the battle is with the Christian groups who are accepting the LGBTQ agenda.

Dr. Burk is right about the fact we should be willing to be in groups that are not all like we are, in that we need to see the differences in struggles,issues and so on, to be able to find paths out of our own forest we are often lost in. I had a painful past, and when I got into groups in the church that were diverse in so many ways I was able to sack my strongholds of introversion and so on. "We all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." It is good to look at sin as a whole malady which the whole human race suffers from. So our particular struggle is minute compared to the multitude of struggles. Yet if we can find a group of Christians who all are coming from the same sin you were trapped in, that can be helpful and healing for a time. But we need to be able to assimilate into the whole Body. The Apostle Paul especially introduced to the church the powerful teaching of the wholeness of the Body of Christ, Christians of every sort of sin healed by the Power of God in Christ.

Excellent interview! So educational and helpful. I read through the Nashville Statement and found it to be well written and concise.
I really liked what Becket said "God disabused me of that idea" when talking about his old identity as a gay man. I was a feminist, bisexual with what was then called "Gender Dysphoria". And in my old life I was involved in all kinds of "groups" (Gay Pride Parade) etc. But when I was saved by God (He made a decision for me, not the other way around) to quote Becket "God disabused me of" all those ideas! Bam! It was all part of my sin and rebellion against God. So here's what I think: people who hang on to those "identities" and ideologies are simply put: NOT SAVED!!! They are not true converts to Christianity. Period. This nonsense of unsaved people forcing their claim that they are somehow "Christian" yet do not obey God is nothing but wolves disturbing the sheep. That's my opinion.
It is sad. They want to be a part of both clubs but as Christians we must submit our lives to the Bible not try to submit the Bible to our lifestyles.

I like what your guest said about this "inclusive" language which basically accepts sinful patterns, rather than encouraging victory over sin. That would be like naming me by the eating disorder I had at 19, so as not offend me. I don't even know what that would look like- Nutritionally challenged? That is ridiculous! I'm also so glad I had gender dysphoria many years ago before it was fashionable, especially for girls, to surgically transition. This would have been disastrous for me. In Christ, I'm called holy and redeemed! Not anorexic, not trans or any other deception I once believed. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

This was so interesting and good to hear that there are men of God making a stand and not compromising. I was particularly blessed by the small portion that addressed the insensitivity of Bible believing Christians sometimes. I have listened to several gay men talk about their rejection by the church when they were young and struggling and it breaks my heart that we can so easily push them away for decades (or worse) by casual jokes and remarks that we might make. It was Martin Lloyd-Jones who said we can't put expect Christian standards from the world when we struggle ourselves and sometimes our lives are the only Bible people read - the challenge to us is are we projecting the whole truth in one indigestible chunk or preparing bite sized morsels that will cause an appetite for more?

I have two relatives that have recently come out as Trans. It’s been really difficult to know how to continue to love them without “affirming “ their identities, which their parents have strongly supported. This discussion was helpful, but didn’t really address that issue.

Jesus actually loved sinners, that's why He came seeking the lost.
We are to love the soul, the spirit of the person, not the sinful nature and behaviour.
Jesus loved His enemies that's why He died for us , His enemies. Without His death, no sinner would be washed and made clean to come to Father's eternal table.
Ask Father God to show you HOW to love them WITHOUT compromise.
If they were born again by the Spirit of God and now have gone to the devil, that's another thing. But if they never KNEW Jesus, they need Him. You can pray. Ask Father to teach you how to pray for them. And of course, guard your heart and your family and your house. Walk in wisdom and don't trust any vulnerable person with them. Build yourself up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost - Jude 20.
Wait on the Lord. Feast on His Word.

If your life, and lifestyle, attitudes, belief.system, etc look the same after you receive Christ ,then it was only lip service and not a true encounter with God.

I think it’s clear that many who say they believe and are Christian are in fact not. Jude talks about them. I try to treat everyone regardless what they believe or how they live with as much kindness as I can knowing most people won’t make it to heaven. I also don’t go to church, but it’s encouraging to hear you guys are standing up for truth and righteousness and helping churches.
