I think what happened at 8:04 is that since the submarine hitbox is meant to make the crash sound play whenever it collides with ANYTHING, it activated the crash cutscene when you touched it
Whenever you find a tool before you actually need to use it, sure now you know that it’s there when you need it, but there’s also that moment of realization of “wait, I’m gonna have to use this, aren’t I?” For example, you’re walking around in a game and find a hiding spot, the first thing you think isn’t “oh cool, found a hiding spot” it’s *”Wait, I can hide? What the hell am I hiding from?!”*
