You know... you are really amazing for suggesting things that suddenly seem so obvious I want to smack my forehead for not seeing it before; the point about "doesn't matter which side you're on" is brilliant, because yeah... now that you mention it, how you lean, and how the paddle can generate lift _or_ pull, you really could recover either way.
I was away at the lake last week practicing rotating instead of bending at the waist. Even in my leisure kayak with a European paddle on a calm inland lake these tips really help.
Your pedagogy is an absolute breath of fresh air, even tho i dont kayak, these are such a perfect foundation and outlook for paddlesports and wilderness travel in general
So many things are like a good pizza. Less ingredients on top of that pizza is more. Economic movement in most things. That's why professional people make things look easy I learnt this year that when I use my charcoal grill it works so much better with less charcoal. When driving as well. Little movement to the steering wheel is better than overreacting. This hip movement relatedness is the same on a motorbike and bicycle
Just getting back into kayaking now after a long time away (32 years away). I got myself an ORU bay ST to play with at the little beach I live across from. It’s such a pleasure but I’m still figuring out the best settings so I can be snug but mobile inside it. I’ve completely forgotten how to roll! I also only had experience paddling in white water so learning to read wind and tide are new to me. I don’t have Greenland paddles yet but I’ll get some to see how they feel. For the time being just getting comfy is the goal.
Moisture triggered buoyancy aids are useful in conditions when the wearer is either out of the water or in need of flotation, especially with a high risk of unconsciousness at water impact, for example falling off a ship or a high dock. Manually triggered devices are more appropriate for paddle sports.
I will bet that the extra active pelvic movement reduces bum fatigue and lets you actually sit longer and more comfortably. Keeping the blood flowing through the sitting muscles.
yes it makes all the difference for comfort and power. Just make sure you are moving your legs, bending one knee and strengthening the other to get that hip rotation. It's coming from below, not from the top.

I’m sorry Paulo; while this video is about staying upright and comfortable in following seas. I’m not sure I see how that was addressed. Bracing is well and good but doesn’t address the issue of being comfortable in following seas that make a boat do very strange things…such as broaching… I was interested in your method of dealing with those things, not a rolling position.

Thank you sweet Paulo.
You are so very welcome.
Thanks
Paulo do you sell any gear sir?????
All about Body Rotation? One of the five fundamentals of Greenland Kayaking?
I just saw it Omgosh
2.o9, and elsewhere the paddler is wearing a self inflating buoyancy aid, which is not self inflating during a roll. How come?
Manually triggered, not moisture triggered.

Taktyczny
I made the comment about waves from behind.

I'm sure you're giving really good advice, but the dramatic background music is too irritating, so I stopped listening half way through. Sorry
