    I liked your video but was disappointed that that there no mention of how to use the dip switches when adding more batteries . Can anyone help explain what to do with dip switches when adding more batteries

    • @AnthonyFrancisJones
      @AnthonyFrancisJones Рік тому

      Yes, I was thinking that. I am having real problems with this but it seems to be set the first dip switch to on on the master battery so it is at the correct baud rate for the inverter (if 9600B/s) and then all other batteries have all dip switches set to off. If you have a 115200 baud system that is different but I think most are 9600 - my Solis is and you can check on the settings screen of the inverter. Hope that helps - and works!

    Assume the same applies to the US2000 plus model.. adding a later US2000C model.
    The later model is used first and the older model daisy chained?

    • @zaydshouse1373

      That is correct. When using the same module use the latest production unit as master.
      If you have different modules follow this order for determining which battery to use as the master battery:
      UP5000>US3000C>US2000C>US3000>US2000

    Hello Zayd, thanks for the informative video... i have four US2000 Batteries with Kodak KODAK Solar Off-Grid Inverter MAX 7.2kW 48V, and X6 410W Canadian solar panels... can i mix the US2000 battery with US3000 or 5000 or do i need to stick with US2000 range as i want to upgrade?
    Thanks in advance.

      Hi Daddy, you can mix the batteries.
      When using the same module use the latest production unit as master.
      If you have different modules follow this order for determining which battery to use as the master battery:
      UP5000>US3000C>US2000C>US3000>US2000
      There are two additional things to note:
      1. The bigger batteries generally offer more value as they are cheaper per KWh - divide the cost by the battery capacity to figure out which one is better
      2. The UP5000 only carries a 5 year warranty whereas the US series generally has a 7 year warranty that can be extended to 10 years upon registration

      Max charging current should be 25A x number of US2000 batteries (37A for us US3000) - you can round down to the nearest 10 if your inverter only works in increments of 10 - this is normally program 2
      Program 12 - battery low return to grid - 48v
      Program 13 - battery full - 51v (or 50v if you want to start using the battery sooner and use less utility
      Program 26 - bulk charge - 53.2v (but I prefer to go a bit lower at 52.5v)
      Program 27 - float charge - 53.2v (again I prefer a lower value of 52.5v)
      Program 29 - battery low cut off - 47.5v (I set mine to 48v)

    Does the inverter automatically pick up and adjust its settings for the new battery? As in, does it know the battery storage is now 10kwh and not 5kwh from here on?

    • @zaydshouse1373
      @zaydshouse1373  9 місяців тому

      Depends on the inverter. The inverter generally reads the battery voltage. The voltage remains the same but the voltage drops more slowly due to the added capacity.
      You do however need to look at your charge settings. You should double your charge amperage.
      Nominal charging rate is C/2 where C is the capacity of the battery. These batteries are 74A each so max charge current should not exceed 37A for one battery and 74A for two batteries

    • @zaydshouse1373
      @zaydshouse1373  Рік тому

      Hi Gabriel, it shouldn’t take too long to balance. Given the small difference in voltage between the two batteries it should be ok to connect them. In general you should be fine if the same number of LEDs are green on each battery

    Hello great video. Please can l use 5kva 48v inverter with a single 3.5kwh 48v pylontech US3000 to power 500watt load. And how many hours can it run the 500watt load on full charge thanks

    • @zaydshouse1373
      @zaydshouse1373  Рік тому +2

      Thanks Victor. Yes you can. I ran my 5kva inverter with a single 3.5Kwh for over a year. It will handle 500w of continuous load with no issues for close to 6 hours - depending of course on what your low voltage cut off settings are. With a single battery you can draw a maximum continuous load of 1800 watts

    Hi zayd nice video... have a question to ask.. can you please help me ..I need to know whit one US5000 pylontech battery or maybe 2 battery together..which inverter I need to connect 48v 5000w or 10000w and can I run only whit 6 x 400w solar panel .. I hope you understand what I mean thank you..

    • @zaydshouse1373
      @zaydshouse1373  Рік тому +1

      Hi Alfredo, each UP5000 battery will give you 4.8kwh of capacity but will only allow you to draw a maximum continuous power of 2.4kw (battery capacity divided in half).
      So both a 5kw or 10kw inverter would work but a 10kw inverter would be overkill with limited batteries and solar panels.
      The advantage of a bigger inverter is that it allows you to expand your system over time by just adding more batteries and panels.
      If you have 2 x UP5000 batteries with a 5kw inverter you would be able to run the full inverter load of 5kw on the batteries alone without utility or solar.
      Hope that helps.

    • @zaydshouse1373
      @zaydshouse1373  Рік тому

      Hi Terrence, since you are adding the battery in parallel none of the voltage settings need to change. The only parameter you should consider changing is the maximum charge current. You should double this value as you are doubling your capacity. The max charge current should be set at 37A per US3000 battery. So you can set it to 74A or round down to 70A. All other parameters should remain the same.

      Hi Ian. I have an Axpert inverter. All my dip switches are off on both batteries. Dip 1 controls the RS486 baud rate which is the rate at which data is transferred. When its on the rate is 9600 bits per second and when its off the rate is 115200 bits per second. Dip 2 must be off if you are in single group mode (you will have more than one group if you have many batteries - typically more than 4). What issue are you experiencing?

  • @mollyfilms
    @mollyfilms Рік тому +5

    You made a classic mistake. After you switch your batteries on you should wait at least 60 seconds before switching your inverter on. All manor of error codes can happen if you do this to early.
