Can you list the books in the description? I really wanted to check some of them out but it's hard to find the title/author and it would be a lot easier if you listed the books you talked about!

I love it when booktubers mention adult books, THANK YOU! A lot of adults on booktube read only YA, which is quite sad. Branching out doesn't hurt.

I try to keep it 50-50ish! I'm curious about the YA books mentioned on book tube but I need adult mix in there too :)

A stand-out for me this year has been To Kill a Mockingbird! I know it's huge in America, but it's not talked about a lot in Norway, so I only just discovered it. So amazing.
I also really loved The Pilgrimage of Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki by Haruki Murakami!

I've recently finished reading The Passage by Justin Cronin and it's a great post-apocalyptic world with a really great modern interpretation of vampires (not your usual vampires, but really believable virus-created ex humans).
    Would highly recommend!

The Martian is one of my favorite books and thanks to you, I have add some new titles to my TBR. In a previous vid you asked for romance books and I'll like to recommend you Sylvain Reynard series. They're basically romance but with a twist. The Gabriel's Inferno trilogy is a modern take of the Divine Comedy and her second trilogy has a paranormal component but still the classics come thru. Not your average romance and both series are completed, so no waiting nor painful cliffhanger. 😁

  • @Marilynlov5

I was surprised that I liked Girl on the Train so much. I'm also starting a series the first one is called The Wicked Girls by Alex Marwood. Frankenstorm by Ray Garton, this one I picked up bc I thought it would be an easy entertaining read but it's got more characters and interesting drama than I expected, I recommend it. also, I'm trying to get through The Nix by Nathan Hill, it's huge!

Uhhhh Mistborn! So much love for that series! I've read it twice and I almost never go back a re-read books. Always on to the next, but that series is just amazing. Most of Brandon Sanderson's novels are series, but I would totally recommend a single novel by him called Elantris. Probably one of my favorite books from him. Oh and his newest series the Stormlight Archive is not to be missed either. But the two books out at 1000+ pages each will take over your life for quite a while. :-)

    • @BookswithEmilyFox

Hi Emily, I am your fan. I decided to come back to this vid to say thank you because owing to it, I discovered the most suitable book for my English literature final assignment and it's Flowers for Algernon. Like you, English is not my mother tongue so analyzing an English book is not easy at all but I was really into the book and I've done my assignment kind of successfully, I guess :)) I am now waiting for the result and I believe it'll be good. Again, thank you Emily. I'm looking forward to your video every week.

Station Eleven is one of the most complicated but most fascinating books that i ever read - I also had to read it twice to really get into it. I loved that the times are changing in every chapter and the characters are so amazingly detailed. Even though there are not so many pages, every one of them gets a soul and a background story...
I would love to hear what your favorite characters were - mine are Clark and Miranda, they have such complex personalities.
Btw: any tips how to effort more books? I have an ebook reader, but every book lover knows the feeling of paper between their fingers....
Love and best wishes from Vienna!

If you're into post-apocalyptic books you've probably read The Road. But if you haven't you must. It's one of my favorite books, and written in almost a poetic prose

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe was the best book I read this year. I see you have it as to read, Emily. I'd really suggest it! I've been hearing about it for months and months now, and I just wish I had picked it up right away. I also loved The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August and A Darker Shade of Magic.

Legend trilogy by Mary Lu!!! My favourite dystopian novel. I also loved Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska by John Green. The Maze Runner trilogy was also great :)

I was surprised that you liked the Winners Curse. I found the love between the two characters in the first book very unbelievable. Didn't feel it. So I didn't continued with the other books..

I know it's more beauty-related but WHAT are you wearing on your lips??
V.E. Schwab instantly became on of my favorite authors this year because of A Gathering of Shadows. Can't wait for Conjuring of Light!
Wasn't able to read a lot this year because of my thesis, but definitely Gathering of Shadows series and Queen of the Tearling series are up on top.

Blood Red Road by Moira Young is a really great post-apocalyptic book! The only thing is that it doesn't have quotation marks and some words aren't spelled properly (on purpose), but it's amazing once you get passed that!
