I started watching you on your beauty channel and was really excited when I found out about your book channel because makeup and books are 2 of my great obsessions and I must say that your english has improved a lot in the last few years! :)
i just read the kiss of deception because of your recommendation, and i'm addicted to it! i can't put the book down for even one minute, and i just can't wait to finish the book. I love it so muchhhh!
The Fifteen Lives of Harry August sounds so good, I'll have to pick that up soon. I also think the covers of the Darker Shade of Magic series are gorgeous
I read The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August this year and I thought the concept was super intresting but I was sometimes bored by the stories that intertwined with the main plot line. I felt like too many words were used for things that could have been shorter, but I liked it fine anyway. I'm definitely adding The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet to my TBR!
I'm not a romance fan either. At all. I try (occasionally succeeding, but often failing) to find fantasy books that have little to no romance in them. And I was planning to pass on The Kiss of Deception because it looked like it was going to have too much romance for my taste, but you made me want to check it out. It sounds like it's not going to be the overly sappy/angst-ridden/pining type of romance, and there is an intriguing premise, so I think I may be able to tolerate it. I'll have to check my local library for it next time I'm there. Thanks for this recap!
I really love this channel, Emily! It is so useful, I just wish you uploaded more videos, maybe of you doing some tags like the try a chapter one. You are the only booktuber I follow ❤
Great recommendations!! I definitely want to pick up that last one and The female of the species. Currently listening to the audiobook of The heart of betrayal 😁
I loved the remnant trilogy, i have not got the 3rd one yet but can not wait...I found elantris in a charity shop for £1.50 can not wait to read that one. I really want to read the female of the species. soooo many great books x
Your review on The conjuring of light discourages me to read the book 😔 I bought the book when it came out! 😭 I expected so much from the series, I've fallen in love with Kell and Lilah and Lilah's story, I don't wanna read it 'cause I just don't wanna end up disappointed in the end 😔
I always trust your recommendations, net book I'll read will be the Kiss of déception ! At thé moment I'm listening the second book in a Song Of Ice and Fire, (I forgot the name 😂😂😂) I know you had a hard time to read GoT maybe try via Audible ! It is still confusing sometimes but it's easier then reading it ! My favorite book was the second book in thé trilogie of The Gentlemen Bastards ! You should really give a shot to The Lies of Lock Lamora ! :D
LaMesha Hale I read it quite fast (well fast for what I'm used to 😅) and for my point of view is really good. Some parts, mainly the first 3 chapters (I think), and maybe some of them (like 3 more but not in sequence) are kind of slow too. Buy if you enjoy mistery/thriller/action books you'll like it. And if you like chemistry and biology (or at least know something) it will be a entertaining read. Sorry if I misspelled something, not my first language. Hope you read it and enjoy it. 😊
Emily, my by far most favorite book this year was an adult book that nobody talks about on Booktube, but it's the best most amazing book ever. It's called Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar. It is literary fiction with sci fi elements, it deals with solitude, ambition, past, there is one surprisingly wise and adorable space spider. And it was just such a perfect book I can't even. oh, also the author is just on tour in Paris! 🌃🚀
The Female of Species was so good. I loved it. I'm reading The Fifteen Lives of Harry August now (per your recommendation) but I'm not liking it much. I was interested in the premise but the plot couldn't hold my attention.
magician by Raymond E. Feist. This is a high fantasy published in 1982. It is the first part of a trilogy, but you more or less miss a second story if you only read Magician. It can be read as a standalone, with a more than satisfyjing ending. The sequels are really good to. Classic epic fantasy in the style of the Lord of the Rings I also really liked the Mistborn trilogy (the first one and the beginning of the alloy of law too, I havent listened to the entire second trilogy yet, just took a peak)
Me again! I am one of those people who is okay with love triangles, but I see them the way you do "Omg, which hot guy do I choose, both want me! This is terrible!" That's the impression I get with Twilight. I saw The Female of the Species at the library, but wasn't in the mood.
I'm sure you will love it! I was just disappointed with Lila's character... instead of being more developed as the series goes on, she ended up becoming a caricature and just being a "badass"...
I wish I could fit more time for reading, but for the past couple of months I really couldn't make time and it annoys me beyond words. Have you started reading This Savage Song? I really enjoyed that one. PS: where did you get your top from?
If you're looking for a fantasy with political plots and a strong female main character check out Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey. It's a historical fantasy set in a world like Renaissance France, and the heroine is an orphan turned prostitute who uses her preferred talents and intelligence to spy. It's pretty long, but very well written and engaging. There's an element of myth and magic as well.
Yes, such great world building and characters! I had a tough time getting into the second one because the first third, I think, was all slow set up, but I did love where it ended up.
Ah super ! Stephen King est mon auteur favoris. Je te conseille de découvrir un peu plus ses œuvres. Je recommande : "ça" qui sort d'ailleurs bientôt en film :)
I have been listening to the remnant chronicles on audio and, while the readers are excellent, I regret that decision. The number of times that author can use the expressions "I spun" and "my stomach churned" is staggering. I've spent much of my listening time rolling my eyes and the protagonist becomes almost unbearable in book three. She is a spoiled brat and I am constantly annoyed with her; but it may have something to do with the way the reader is interpreting her. While it's not a bad book, it's made me decide I am never listening to YA on audio again; i think its weaknesses are less apparent when you're speed-reading it than when it's read out loud.
could you do a "favorite books of all time" video?
im sorry if you already have it but I can't find it ahah
I started watching you on your beauty channel and was really excited when I found out about your book channel because makeup and books are 2 of my great obsessions and I must say that your english has improved a lot in the last few years! :)
Thumbs up for the way Emily says "fantasy" 😀😄😍
i just read the kiss of deception because of your recommendation, and i'm addicted to it! i can't put the book down for even one minute, and i just can't wait to finish the book. I love it so muchhhh!
Yay I'm so glad you loved the Remnant Chronicles! I really should read the Female of the Species. Great video Emily!
I have A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet on order, now I am more anxious to read it. Great Spring wrap up!
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet is one of my favorite books of the year so far
Female of the Species was so amazing! It's one of my favorites!
I really want to find a copy of Female of Species, everyone says its so amazing!!!
The Fifteen Lives of Harry August sounds so good, I'll have to pick that up soon. I also think the covers of the Darker Shade of Magic series are gorgeous

Most of the books here are in my asap TBR, the only exception being perhaps 'The female of the species.'
Awesome! First fifteen lifes of Harry August goes on my wishlist right now :D
I always trust your recommendations, net book I'll read will be the Kiss of déception !

My favorite book that I read between April and May was The Chemist by Stephanie Meyer. Love your videos and recomendations btw. 😊💕
LaMesha Hale I read it quite fast (well fast for what I'm used to 😅) and for my point of view is really good. LaMesha Hale is not full of it but you'll find some things. You're welcome.
Hi Emily, great selection! I always enjoy your videos !!
Btw, your instagram link is not working anymore :(
I LoVED The Female of the Species
Emily, my by far most favorite book this year was an adult book that nobody talks about on Booktube, but it's the best most amazing book ever. It's called Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar. Please read 'The three body problem'.
I want to hear your review so badly!
Also just got Big Little Lies.
Always love new recommendations!!

Em! Have you read "All the Light We Cannot See" yet? It was so good! I can't recommend it enough!

It's so good! I hope you like it!

I am reading female of the species at the moment...soooooo good
Me again! I am one of those people who is okay with love triangles, but I see them the way you do "Omg, which hot guy do I choose, both want me! This is terrible!" That's the impression I get with Twilight. I saw The Female of the Species at the library, but wasn't in the mood.
Eyebrows on fleek 😍👌🏻
I really need to read The Shade of Magic trilogy!! :O
I'm currently reading A Conjuring of Light! I am loving it so far but now I'm scared!😅 After all I discovered the series on this Channel!
I'm sure you will love it! I was just disappointed with Lila's character... instead of being more developed as the series goes on, she ended up becoming a caricature and just being a "badass"...
BookswithEmilyFox Ok😃 either way I'll never thank you enough for suggesting this series, it's now one of my favorites!😊
Have you ever read anything from Ayn Rand?
Btw your lipstick is amazing (as always)! Looks like Velvet teddy from MAC haha. May I know what is it?
It's Milani Matte Naked!
thanks a lot!
could you do a video with books that you have rated 5 stars?
I wish I could fit more time for reading, but for the past couple of months I really couldn't make time and it annoys me beyond words. Have you started reading This Savage Song? I really enjoyed that one.
PS: where did you get your top from?
I haven't yet! It's from "Le Garage"
How often do you use audiobooks?
Lovedd this video!❤️❤️
Do you prefer to read a full series in a row or switch books in-between?
I really want to read ve schwab
I love her writing! Can't recommend her enough :)
My favorite book so far was Caravan by Stephenie Garber. The story sucked me in from the beginning.
What did you think of Jane Eyre?
i have Brain on Fire.

Such a great book! One of my all-time favourite series (though, admittedly, it was difficult to keep going with the third book at times).
Yes, such great world building and characters! I had a tough time getting into the second one because the first third, I think, was all slow set up, but I did love where it ended up.
Coucou, si tu as aimé "Les quinze premières vies d'Harry August" je pense que tu aimeras 23/11/1963 de Stephen King. Super vidéo by the way :)
The female of the species has death of puppies in the beginning and I wasn’t able to continue. It ruined my day when I read it. 😢
FINALLY SOMEONE THAT DIDN'T LIKE THE SELECTION!!! I TOTALLY HATED THAT SERIE!
I have been listening to the remnant chronicles on audio and, while the readers are excellent, I regret that decision. Audiobooks can definitely ruin things sometimes haha
First again!💕💕
