God is so good. I was married for 38 years. I stayed because of marriage vows and thinking that things would get better. Praise God for getting me out of that mess. I am now healthy and happy. I am 64. 🙏😁

I would have to go back to when I was 5 years old. Probably even before then. Stop my abusive father. Change where we lived. So much. I do not want an abundant harvest after suffering. I want no suffering ever.
I too dream of changing a past. Like changed what happened in middle school or on first years of studies. But, this is a trap. I have seen this in me and in others, that by overthinking the past I was making the same mistakes. Don't fall for this trap. Of course, there is still memory of suffering. I don't say "forget a past" because this not a way, and no one will forget their suffering. With God's help, you can understand your suffering, and your feelings about this can change. Like in gospel when blind from birth was thinking he was cursed, but in reality he was blessed. Watch out for trap of desire of changing the past, because it can takes your agency from you.
God healed me of 45 years of heavy drinking. I finally got on my knees and submitted to Him. There were no seizures, DT's, nothing, because I was in Gods hands. You're never alone, God is faithful...

God knows everything from the beginning before we were created to the end. He knew when you will come to him and that you will make mistakes. But God calculated these mistakes already into the plan for your life he had. For gods plan for your life determines what god gets our of it. God determines if you are raped/molested as a child, parents are drug addicts, if you succeed, if you are orphaned. God determines everything. God chooses what dreams you have that come true and what dont. Your biggest battle in life will be fighting God. Dreams are to give you hope that reality is not predetermined. And once you realize all this prayers are irrelevant.
I've got 10 years on you, same flavor even though the details are probably different, and I can tell you faith will keep you going for sure. You just keep taking the next step, and right before your foot hits the ground Jesus places a stepping stone under it.

Thank you so much for this message. My husband left me for another woman after 15 years of marriage. All this years he was busy with work. Took not much time for Jesus, me and our children. Now Jesus is the man in our home. My children and I do experience peace, restoration and so much blessings. HE is faithful and good. And HE is providing all for us! I am in my late 60's. Five years ago I turned my heart totally to Christ. What C.S. Lewis is saying here is %100 percent true. My regrets have been turned into lessons learned. I was finally able to accept the perfect love of Christ and am now able to return that love to Christ and those around me. I have a peace, love and joy I have never experienced before in my life. Christ wants you to accept His gift of grace and love.

5 years ago I brought a small fig plant and neglected it. It was stunted, weeds growing around it, fire ants around it, leaves dry and damaged. I read scriptures about the fig tree and felt so ashamed that I had bought the little tree then neglected it. Jesus cursed a fig tree because it didn't produce fruit and it was like my fig tree was a reminder to me to be fruitful. So I prayed and told the Lord I was sorry, and now the fig tree is quadrupled in size, is flourishing and producing figs. So God has restored the years I neglected the tree and it's like it's growing to make up for lost time. I pray he will do that for me too...the years I have wasted and not produced fruit for him.
Im 57 and lost about 20 years to nothingness... due to fear, anxiety, Xanax prescription--and independence that I needed nobody--so I woke up and thought if we reap what we sow, then I didnt sow anthing for 20 years, so thats why I have not reaped anything. I struggle with depression...Ill get up, get dressed, look in the mirror and just back into bed and not go to church. I am the "master" at excuses. I feel also like its too late--I see people who have friends that they've had for years and Im asking God for fruends, and I dont want to doubt, but I think I dont have "years" to develop those kinds of friends ...please I want to have bible study at my home, so please pray God opens door for this and I neet just One friend I click with..I live in Nashville TN so im praying that I rely on Him and use the things I DO have.
I'm 73 soon in 2024. It's amazing to me how many times I've cheated death and how many times God has given me another chance. At my age I KNOW God has a future that is off the charts fantastic because he just loves us so much. God would have let me perish already but he knows that I do love him and he knows how deeply I see into the amazing mind of his providence for all of us. It's all around us every one. But not many get to see as deeply as I have seen. Always search for truth with all your heart and you too will see what I have seen. Cryptic does not do justice to the experience nor do words do God justice. With every fiber of your being embrace the gift that God has provided and every skill and grace. Life is so wonderful with God as a companion. We are al going threw this rough patch. All of us are. On the other side of all this delusion and distraction are the many many years of our walk with God. God exists in eternity. Time is not the thing we were meant to bear. Scripture doesn't encourage us to come to the Father thru anyone else but Jesus Christ His Son. Mary and Joseph were both sinners just as Scripture declares; ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. I lived six years of backsliding. At the time, sin felt fun for a while & life seemed easy. But sin will always catch up to you whether you like it or not. God is in control & usually makes us come to the end of ourselves to get our attention & to start serving Him again. I went through the most heartbreaking and painful experience ever last summer & I’m still living with regret. I want to be restored with what I lost, but perhaps God is making me humble. I keep telling Him “God, I want the same things I had before, only to do it Your way this time.” I want a second chance & do over.
Read Psalm 51, and use it as your prayer to our Heavenly Father. He loves you, and longs for your return. Confess and repent of your sin, He is faithful and willing to forgive your sin🙏

Im 44, got married at 26, had a kid at 32. Got laid off continually so wife cheated on me around 37/38, divorced by 40. Ex wife died of cancer in 2023 and now im a full time single dad, no job. Had always thought i had figured out what God wanted in my life, but that crashed nearly as soon as i started it. Been drifting for years, waiting for God to restore those wasted years.

You're 13 years older than me. You have plenty of life to live, lessons to learn, and things to look forward to. You just have to be obedient and get more proactive in your recovery. Christ was my only friend when I was broke and physically broken. I remember who my friend was as I recover and improve. Be encouraged and be consistent, you're not alone
54 years old, the love of my life died after 34 years married, one child who was in a relationship and moved away but God was good to me. I thought it was all over, completely alone and could not see a future for me. However I reconnected with God at a level I never did before, we don’t have to wait until we die to enjoy the presence of God in our lives. The whole point of it is to start now and serve Him here. That was 5 years ago and my life has since been flipped upside down in a beautiful way that only God could provide. Lay your burdens down at His feet and he will take it up on your behalf. Regards
Im suffering too feeling so ignorant with blind spots, mistakes costing more that I earn -feels like I’m trying to save my life scrambling for money, like it costs to exist and no one teaches you that , how you can end up- older & pain in the body. I see I’m not alone.
This makes me think of Joseph from the book of Genesis in the Bible. Betrayed and sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. Still doing the right thing. Then falsely accused and landing in prison, which was very harsh in that time. For years. A young man with great potential locked up in an institution of unrighteousness. But when he got out, based on God's work in his life, overnight he became the ruler of the country. Had his life been uninterrupted by the locusts, that God allowed, he would never have been able to work up to such a high position. The locusts ate his life away to the bare ground he slept on. But God made him a ruling king.

I could have died many times. First time at 3 months old. Almost died twice by drowning. Once with Sepsis in 2016. A few times on a motorcycle. I spent 62 years around Jehovah’s Witnesses. Finally, at 69 years old on April 5th, 2024, I decided to get baptized by Pastor Brian Hunt and dedicate my life to Jesus! To turn away from my old ways. Thank you Lord! It’s not too late. There’s still time left. But not much for people to turn away from this wicked world..

This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. I’ve read a lot of C.S. Lewis but I don’t recognize this. Does anyone know if this is quoted from Lewis’ work? And if so, which work? It really resonated with me. After several bad years (divorce, bankruptcy, estrangement from family, a stroke, two heart attacks, homelessness and being hit by a car as I lawfully crossed a street resulting in shattered bones and two years in hospital) it has encouraged me to hope again for a worthwhile future.

To all who have lost! Resist self pity, it’s self worship. Exercise spirit and body daily. Commit to the Word being the final authority in your life, strive to obey it out of trust that He knows best and His ways are always good, “consider your ways” as God said in Haggai, repent and stop doing the things that assisted in your losses. Repentance allows us to experience His grace, the most healing balm we have. Submit to God, resist the devil, surrender all desires to His will, die to self, “consider “your” ways” NOT someone else’s, and blame no one….and watch Him work!
This is so apt for me. A marriage that my husband did not value and a child I had to protect from his lack. I did achieve that but the cost for me was 20 Years gone and never experienced love. Now I am old and have never known kindness

Since He knows what He is doing with His own child (ren) . What no eyes have seen, what no ears has heard, and what no human mind has conceived, the things that God has prepared for those who love Him. These are the things God has revealed to us by His Spirit. 1 Cor 2:9-16
The swarm of locusts that destroyed my crops was nothing more than years worth of my own stupid actions. No enemy or natural disaster was required. God set me up to have the easiest financial success (not rich, but very comfortable)…but I couldn’t stop tripping over my own feet. I’m STILL very blessed (health, and I’m still far from poor). I hope that I’m finally finished though with financially shooting myself in the foot, and with fighting against God.
Why was i brought here? Now reading these stories of fellow mankind, this is where i tell this? Really? Far to long for this space. Sum it all up, King Jesus! No other.

Hi. Your comment really resonated with me. My son is 18. I was so careful to raise him to know and love Jesus. My son is in a place of total rebellion against God. This is so painful for me that I have found only one way forward. I must be crucified with Christ. The mother that I was is crucified with Christ. There is a resurrected life I am now trying to understand but I am in a daze. I haven't given up. Jesus may yet save my son but I know my son is not able to do anything to help. Holy Father of Jesus, I lift up to you my son and this other mother's son. I ask you to partner with Jesus and exercise authority over their case and bring them to see clearly, without hindrance from satan. I haven't heard a horrible life compared to others. I just lived with a lot of mistakes and regrets.. I just turned 60 but I believe im going to 120. I would have to go back to when I was 5 years old. Probably even before then. Stop my abusive father. Change where we lived. So much. I do not want an abundant harvest after suffering. I want no suffering ever.
I too dream of changing a past. Like changed what happened in middle school or on first years of studies. But, this is a trap. I have seen this in me and in others, that by overthinking the past I was making the same mistakes. Don't fall for this trap. Of course, there is still memory of suffering. I don't say "forget a past" because this not a way, and no one will forget their suffering. With God's help, you can understand your suffering, and your feelings about this can change. Like in gospel when blind from birth was thinking he was cursed, but in reality he was blessed.
Watch out for trap of desire of changing the past, because it can takes your agency from you.

I've got 10 years on you, same flavor even though the details are probably different, and I can tell you faith will keep you going for sure. You just keep taking the next step, and right before your foot hits the ground Jesus places a stepping stone under it.

I am in my late 60's. Five years ago I turned my heart totally to Christ. What C.S. Lewis is saying here is %100 percent true. My regrets have been turned into lessons learned. I was finally able to accept the perfect love of Christ and am now able to return that love to Christ and those around me. I have a peace, love and joy I have never experienced before in my life. Christ wants you to accept His gift of grace and love.

5 years ago I brought a small fig plant and neglected it. It was stunted, weeds growing around it, fire ants around it, leaves dry and damaged. I read scriptures about the fig tree and felt so ashamed that I had bought the little tree then neglected it. Jesus cursed a fig tree because it didn't produce fruit and it was like my fig tree was a reminder to me to be fruitful. So I prayed and told the Lord I was sorry, and now the fig tree is quadrupled in size, is flourishing and producing figs.
So God has restored the years I neglected the tree and it's like it's growing to make up for lost time.
I pray he will do that for me too...the years I have wasted and not produced fruit for him.

Im 57 and lost about 20 years to nothingness... due to fear, anxiety, Xanax prescription--and independence that I needed nobody--so I woke up and thought if we reap what we sow, then I didnt sow anthing for 20 years, so thats why I have not reaped anything. I'm 73 soon in 2024. It's amazing to me how many times I've cheated death and how many times God has given me another chance. At my age I KNOW God has a future that is off the charts fantastic because he just loves us so much. God would have let me perish already but he knows that I do love him and he knows how deeply I see into the amazing mind of his providence for all of us. It's all around us every one. But not many get to see as deeply as I have seen. Always search for truth with all your heart and you too will see what I have seen. Cryptic does not do justice to the experience nor do words do God justice. With every fiber of your being embrace the gift that God has provided and every skill and grace. Life is so wonderful with God as a companion. We are al going threw this rough patch. All of us are. On the other side of all this delusion and distraction are the many many years of our walk with God. God exists in eternity. Time is not the thing we were meant to bear. I lived six years of backsliding. At the time, sin felt fun for a while & life seemed easy. But sin will always catch up to you whether you like it or not. God is in control & usually makes us come to the end of ourselves to get our attention & to start serving Him again. I went through the most heartbreaking and painful experience ever last summer & I’m still living with regret. I want to be restored with what I lost, but perhaps God is making me humble. I keep telling Him “God, I want the same things I had before, only to do it Your way this time.” I want a second chance & do over.

Im 44, got married at 26, had a kid at 32. Got laid off continually so wife cheated on me around 37/38, divorced by 40. Ex wife died of cancer in 2023 and now im a full time single dad, no job. You're 13 years older than me. You have plenty of life to live, lessons to learn, and things to look forward to. You just have to be obedient and get more proactive in your recovery. Christ was my only friend when I was broke and physically broken. I remember who my friend was as I recover and improve. Be encouraged and be consistent, you're not alone
54 years old, the love of my life died after 34 years married, one child who was in a relationship and moved away but God was good to me. I thought it was all over, completely alone and could not see a future for me. However I reconnected with God at a level I never did before, we don’t have to wait until we die to enjoy the presence of God in our lives. The whole point of it is to start now and serve Him here.
That was 5 years ago and my life has since been flipped upside down in a beautiful way that only God could provide. Lay your burdens down at His feet and he will take it up on your behalf. Regards
Im suffering too feeling so ignorant with blind spots, mistakes costing more that I earn -feels like I’m trying to save my life scrambling for money, like it costs to exist and no one teaches you that , how you can end up- older & pain in the body. I see I’m not alone.
This makes me think of Joseph from the book of Genesis in the Bible. Betrayed and sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. Still doing the right thing. Then falsely accused and landing in prison, which was very harsh in that time. For years. A young man with great potential locked up in an institution of unrighteousness.
But when he got out, based on God's work in his life, overnight he became the ruler of the country. Had his life been uninterrupted by the locusts, that God allowed, he would never have been able to work up to such a high position. The locusts ate his life away to the bare ground he slept on. But God made him a ruling king.

I could have died many times. First time at 3 months old. Almost died twice by drowning. Once with Sepsis in 2016. A few times on a motorcycle. I spent 62 years around Jehovah’s Witnesses. Finally, at 69 years old on April 5th, 2024, I decided to get baptized by Pastor Brian Hunt and dedicate my life to Jesus! To turn away from my old ways. Thank you Lord! It’s not too late. There’s still time left. But not much for people to turn away from this wicked world..
I discoverd C.S. Lewis 40 years ago. You would think I would have learned much by then. Yet here I am at 62, starting over again. After starting over again. And again. (And again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and....)
Same here, locusts in the form of human beings, have taken and left, career disappointments orchestrated by people, yet I trust God to restore. May God restore to you many times over!

I have robbed myself of so many wonderful blessings over the years and have even been given those blessings back time and time agan! Sin has been the worst plague of locusts in my life even more than what another human being could do to me. May God richly bless you and keep you as well!

This is one of the best things I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. I’ve read a lot of C.S. Lewis but I don’t recognize this. Does anyone know if this is quoted from Lewis’ work? And if so, which work?
It really resonated with me.
After several bad years (divorce, bankruptcy, estrangement from family, a stroke, two heart attacks, homelessness and being hit by a car as I lawfully crossed a street resulting in shattered bones and two years in hospital) it has encouraged me to hope again for a worthwhile future.
Our scripts are based on several of Lewis' works, yes, the phrases are his, and we try to extract all the teaching he teaches in a motivational way, without losing meaning.

To all who have lost! Resist self pity, it’s self worship. Exercise spirit and body daily. Commit to the Word being the final authority in your life, strive to obey it out of trust that He knows best and His ways are always good, “consider your ways” as God said in Haggai, repent and stop doing the things that assisted in your losses. Repentance allows us to experience His grace, the most healing balm we have. Submit to God, resist the devil, surrender all desires to His will, die to self, “consider “your” ways” NOT someone else’s, and blame no one….and watch Him work!

God knows what He is doing in our lives. In our lives we go through disappointments, rejections, pain and sufferings in different levels. Often, we are confused, despaired and lost in our gloomy paths. But the one who has begun the good work in us is actively active in us to give us life. The life that surpasses every worldly affair. Since He knows what He is doing with His own child (ren) .

The swarm of locusts that destroyed my crops was nothing more than years worth of my own stupid actions. No enemy or natural disaster was required. God set me up to have the easiest financial success (not rich, but very comfortable)…but I couldn’t stop tripping over my own feet. I’m STILL very blessed (health, and I’m still far from poor). I hope that I’m finally finished though with financially shooting myself in the foot, and with fighting against God.

I'm 50 years old my life has been messed up, fear, pains and depression now reign in my life despite the fact that I believe God can restore and help me to recovered all the wasted years. God used Lewis in a mighty way in my life. I was a Christian but was having doubts and Mere Christianity fixed them.
The most important restoration is you first love to your Savior and Lord.
Have lost too many days praying and waiting. How do we get that back? 😢He knows my heart. He knows my desires. He knows my pain. He knows my prayers.

In fact, I believe CSL would agree, and that to leave a person accused of their locust being an evidence of their "rebellion" is to say that the Friends-of-JOB were correct in their ascertain that Job's ills were a product of his own sin.
If we make to Heaven we have eternity! You wont be worrying about some "wasted years"! Eternity in the presence of God in his Love!

I wish I had known about this side of C.S. Lewis. I have read Screwtape Letters, the Chronicles of Narnia, the sci-fi trilogy with Out of the Silent Planet, Mere Christianity. Hi. Your comment really resonated with me. My son is 18. I was so careful to raise him to know and love Jesus. My son is in a place of total rebellion against God. This is so painful for me that I have found only one way forward. I must be crucified with Christ. The mother that I was is crucified with Christ. There is a resurrected life I am now trying to understand but I am in a daze. I haven't given up. Jesus may yet save my son but I know my son is not able to do anything to help. Holy Father of Jesus, I lift up to you my son and this other mother's son. I ask you to partner with Jesus and exercise authority over their case and bring them to see clearly, without hindrance from satan. I ask your Holy Spirit to enable them to make an informed choice about how they will spend eternity. I ask you to overcome their objections in a way that brings you great glory. I praise you that Jesus will not lose one that you have given him. You are being trusted completely with their outcome. Please in your wisdom and mercy cause them to repent according to your desire that none should reject so great a salvation and perish. in Jesus victorious name I pray. Amen.
I haven't heard a horrible life compared to others. I just lived with a lot of mistakes and regrets.. I just turned 60 but I believe im going to 120. To me, it's like I have the next 60 years to do it better without the mistakes and a lot more success !!! That maybe a bit too much faith for some to grasp , that's OK , it's my dream 😊🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❣️
I feel that a deep practice of mindfulness, daily meditation, use of breath to release anxiety and tension, and a submission to the flow of the love that comes flowing in to my heart immediately. Is this Christ? It feels like the same promises and results expressed here.

I feel resentful that nothing has been restored but only sabatoged, hijacked and destroyed. I was always sacrificed on the alter unwittingly.
