So why aren’t you using Woolich or ecu editor and using the nitrous controller/programs that were designed for the factory ecu? I don’t understand why people add all this shit to Gen 2’s when it’s all capable through the ecu..Especially with someone of your knowledge.
U also have to understand this is a business man. He will make money off parts and install labor if he sells more components plus tuning is alot easier and quicker when not using the ecu. Im sure his dyno schedule is booked up so faster he can get them off the dyno the quicker he can roll a other one on. Plus the latest controllers are more advanced than ecu editor which hasnt been updated in years.
@@neurocentricthoughtz1583 and when one of said boxes he adds to the bike fails during a pass, the ecu resorts to whatever the fuel and ignition map is set to..Which could cause catastrophic failure especially for a stock valve spring set up on the gen 2.
@@gargster18 im not disputing any of that.. i just know how many shops operate. Let me shed some light on how things are setup on this bike and why I do it the way it is done. We did use woolich software to tune this bike. There are currently three separate maps on this ECU. Motor map pump gas, motor map Q16 and of course the nitrous map Q16. I have room for three more if I want. We use the nitrous controllers because they do not require the customer to have any experience in flashing their ECU to operate and does not require a computer to make changes to the nitrous configuration. They can make changes in Seconds right from their handheld if needed. The nitrous map is a separate fuel and ignition map with all the resolution of your standard tables not just a blanket percentage or timing number if the nitrous is active. I wire the controller to automatically switch the map in the ECU to the nitrous map whenever the nitrous is spraying. It switches maps in milliseconds. It cannot activate the solenoid without switching the map therefor the customer doesn't have to remember to do anything but turn on the nitrous. On a side note once an ECU is flashed with the woolich software it is unable to be flashed by the ECU Editor software. Also the woolich software does not have any of the nitrous control or boost fuel options in it so it would have to be done with ECU editor. Lots of customers that come in already have had other companies flash their ECU prior to bringing it to us. This way I know I can deliver exactly what I want and do not need to search for an ECU that has not been flashed by any other software prior to taking on a customer's build. I have done many of them back in the day with the nitrous controlled by the stock ECU and I personally have had better results and ease of use for the customer with it being done this way. That doesn't mean it's the only way to do it and I hope that helps to understand why we set things up the way that we do. Find ten different builders and you are gonna find ten different ways of going about things 👍
