- In this video I'll tell you everything you need to know about the VOX AC10! So far I absolutely LOVE this amp and I definitely recommend it!
Check it out here: www.sweetwater...
Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the introduction. I have ordered one and hope I won't be disappointed when I plug in the Tele.
EQ work a bit different on a Vox. Turn bass and treble down to 8 or 9 o’clock to emphasize the mids. Had my AC10c1 since they came out. Still like it. No problems.
Thanks I’ll try that out!
In order to save the life of your AC10, cut out the back below the amp chassis, also you can cut out two thin rectangles on the sides of the amp chassis. This allows the amp to stop overheating due to a crap design, as well as gets rid of the boxiness. Secondly install a greenback or creamback. Mine overheated twice, once on stage, and was sent back both times. Cut out the back once it was returned and been happy ever since.
That's quite plausible. I'm also worried that the amp could overheat over time in the closed box. Would a small fan be useful to reduce the temperature?
@ thought about the fan too, but that would effect the speaker acoustically. Just grab the table saw and chop off the bottom of the back. Helps on heat and boxyness. Just be careful if you have small animals. Cats like to climb in there.
@@drewmcdowell1622 haha no i don’t have, a chickenwire would be needed then.
I had one. Sounds great to my ears generally. I was not in love with the digital reverb but really liked the tone besides that.
Man I use to own one of these! in fact I think I posted a pretty cringe video with it... Anyways glad you love it man! It does like the beetles and the tom petty tone very well, especially if you have a tele. But other than that it wasn't really my thing. I actually traded Fender Mustang amp to get mine, and then traded it for a Hot Rod Deville ML. I now am almost exclusively a Quad Cortex player. But it will always be a nostalgic amp for as it was my first tube amp. Keep at it dude!
Thats awesome! I love hearing other peoples stories with music gear idk why it’s just so cool! It definitely does the beetles sound really well I love that about it. Thanks!!
Do tube amps chew up tubes like audio tube amps do?
I’ve heard you have to replace them every few years, if you play a ton it could almost be every year but if you don’t play as much, they can last 3 or 4 years
I have an AC15 since it's closer to a AC30 in tone.
That amp is pure and utter shit. I had one and sold it immediately. Far too bright . Far too bright. It sounds cold and sterile.
Whoa maybe you got a bad one? At least with mine I can get super good warm tones even with the bridge pickup
Those are pointless. Too quiet for gigs and too expensive/big/loud for home use. Also I don’t need a tube amp at home. I can play to myself even with a “shitty” sound for about 50 bucks per amp.
If you wanna gig spend less(!) used and just get a AC15. Those are killer amps, very well built (in comparison but also in general) and loud enough for pretty much every live situation.
@@ReinholdBinder-d9n Why would you buy an amp you didn’t like?
to you. with your gear. with your fingers, negative nelly.
By all accounts the internals are junk compared to the AC15, and failure is when not if.
I’m sure they’re not as good as the AC15 but I’ve never heard anyone call it junk lol I guess I’ll find out!
5 Watt World puts it in the top ten home amps of all time. Can't get praise much higher than that.
@@LordBransty Keith from 5WW doesn't repair them. Cast around UA-cam for opinions from the techs who, over years, get to notice which amps come in most often...
horsepucky had mine for years play it every day no dramas "by all accounts" (ALL!!!) keyboard kunty...
