    Chase low key made a lot of money without the wear and tear on his body. I'm sure he would have loved to start more, but not a bad deal really.

    Drake Maye doesn't use the ball's threads to throw. His hands must be huge. However, I wonder how that will fly if he goes to a cold-weather team like New England.

    Take Caleb #1. You can't win in the NFL with a run first QB . Fields can't read a D and that's why he ends up in broken plays. Bears are taking Caleb and trying to inflate Fields trade stock with their smoke screens

      Chase has done some excellent video breakdown on Justin. Never mentioned anything about not being about to read defenses. Nothing but good things to say on his improvement. The bears had the worst offensive line, the past 3 years, and the immediate pressure forced fields to make decisions that prevented getting through progressions quickly enough. He actually adapted, and Betsy’s playing calling improved to where the last part of the season he was doing incredible given the pocket collapse rate. Adam Mason has accurate stats on this.check out his videos. Fields is not the lousy QB people make him out to be. Bears will likely keep him, and with an improved o line, and receivers that don’t drop the ball 20% of the time, or run bad routes (think Mooney, Scott), all except DJ Moore who were excellent, he’ll look more like a top 15 QB next season at some point. He’s been dealt a horrible hand the past 3 years with few weapons, no o line, and multiple coaching changes, but he’s made improvement each year despite the adversity. The guy works hard and this year he will have lots more help on and off the field. If they take Caleb, we will be back to square one and maybe another season well under .500 until he learns the nfl. That would suck for team morale and fan base. Caleb’s not proven anything and even Kurt Warner says he’s seen nothing on tape that will tell you how any of these QBs will fare in the NFL. Everyone assumes the bears will screw up whatever Qb comes in. Poles has changed the make up of this entire organization. Brick by brick. It takes time. Keeping Justin would keep the progress on the upswing. Any new QB could be a 2 or 3 year set back until they acclimate. Cj stroud is a rare exception. Took Troy Aikmen 3 years before he got going. Expectations for these guys are way too high in this era.

      Limited thought processing, clearly. It’s been showed by TOOO many exactly what’s been up with fields - the team and coaching around him coupled with him still developing (but clearly showing real Improvement). It cannot be stated enough that the bears offensive line wasn’t it ( how many different ways does it have to be said that the tackles and center play they had were ranked worse in the league?! That was REAL) and also that fields was blitzed more than anyone in the NFL while he has really suspect play calling and the worse wr room (obviously besides DJ Moore) in the league. None of this can be ignored one iota.

      Cam newton did it, Lamar is close, Mahomes can do it, he did it in the superbowl. Michael Vick in his prime was different. It really all depends on coaching schemes

    Trade back a spot or two. Take MHJ and take Alt at #9 if he's available. Acquire more early-mid round picks, including an extra 1st, and maybe even another good veteran player from trading back.

      I get the logic I just have a bad feeling about passing on another quarterback on a rookie scale contract.

    • @GetSuited4
      @GetSuited4 6 місяців тому +2

      @@alexamerling79 no offense but you can't get the logic if you then say something about the rookie scale contract. Caleb Williams doesn't fill the needs we have at Center, Left Tackle, D. End, Free safety and Running back of which all can be answered by trading the number 1 pick and getting more draft capital for this year, next year and the year after that. Thos picks can turn into trade capital as well where you keep getting picks of top players. Btw Caleb isn't better than Justin and he definitely isn't worth passing up on all the potential players we can get. Also just a little news you can use - we will have more cap space even paying Justin of which we only have to give him 6 mill next season, 23-25 mill in 2025, then we give him his big contract or franchise tag him all the while we have built a team of which was torn down just two seasons ago.
      Trade that pick

    • @DondreDashard
      @DondreDashard 6 місяців тому

      @@alexamerling79I feel it’s not that bad in this circumstance. Fields has promise and trading that spot back will be better for the team overall in the long run. If Caleb goes to Washington, he might play better than Fields, but the Bears will be better than the Commanders. Build the team > Draft a player

    • @holdwhatdoor7629
      @holdwhatdoor7629 6 місяців тому

      It's probably more about the impending contract costs. He will cost $6 million in 2024 and his 5th year option will be $23 million. Then you need to sign him long term which will cost you. If he needs a year or even half a year to get comfortable in a new system, you essentially have a very short leash to determine if he will be the guy you want to sign a long term contract with. If he doesn't end up being the guy, you just lost a first round pick and wasted 2 years. Obviously, that is necessarily what happens, but that is the down side that would maybe keep teams from giving anything more than a 2nd round pick
