this song is what made me learn the piano many many years ago (I just HAD to learn so that I could play it). It is also a song that made me so addicted to "interview with the vampire" when it came out and read all of Anne Rice's books. It was all due to this short lil song. It is a song that has had a big impact on my life.
amazing to hear that...sometimes I stop by to listen to it...it has an indescribable attractiveness, despite its horror and anguish-filled sensation...one feels a rather otherworldly tranquility.
Deliver me, O Lord, from eternal death on that awful day when the heavens and earth shall be shaken and you shall come to judge the world by fire. I am seized with fear and trembling until the trial is at hand and the wrath to come: when the heavens and earth shall be shaken.
I love this song. It hints at a hidden world, a realm of darkness tucked away behind the warm glow of the evening street lamps. Makes you wonder at what could be found in the recesses of a shadow, or why you sometimes hear the sound of footsteps upon your roof at night.
me, sitting curled up in a lawn chair, my big hoodie swallowing me in warmth. it's completely dark, but i pay no heed, i'm too busy looking at the stars. the moon. thinking of far away dreams and worlds, wondering if maybe i'm no so alone. little bugs and animals chime their own symphony in the background, but i feel like if i strain i can hear the stars. i feel like it's just me in the world, just me sitting here staring at the stars, breathing life in and out. in, cold, crisp air, lighting up my lungs like it's my first breath. i smile at the feeling. out, a contented sigh of warm air surrounding my chilled face. i keep staring upward for my own eternity, until the tell y'all shake of my hands, and the quiet rattling of my teeth tells me i must depart from my beloved sky. of course, i will return, as i do every chance i get, but who knows if my stars will still be there, if the moon will continue to shine on me in its angelic embrace of the dark. i fear the day i lose the sky, but for now i have it, and i am alive. i am alive with _wonder._ i am so happy to be with my sky, as separated from it as i am on this earth. stepping back into humanity is a heavy feeling. not terrible, just burdening with its weight. i have no choice though, as i sadly cannot stay out forever. even the stars must sleep sometime, so as i lay in my bed, the moon kissing me goodnight through the window, i wish the stars well and drift of into a different world made by my airy mind. (just a poetic telling of a moment from my childhood. i absolutely adored staying out late in the winter, just to see the sky and heavenly bodies. for years before i moved, the moon shone perfectly through my window every summer and winter, and i would shift my whole bed just so it could shine on my face. **sigh** just idyllic memories, now.)
Libera Me song, performed by The American Boychoir, a music boarding school located in Princeton, New Jersey. Taken from the Interview with the Vampire Soundtrack. What I'm imagining...women dressed in black, singing their hearts out to pour out their grief at a death. They walk along a long, cobbled path towards a mansion where the memorial is held...tears are whispering down their faces...Beautiful song.
Raúl Doria It is a great piece of music. And no worries. My apologies too for thinking you were trolling me and thus me being a little harsh. Have a great day.
It is very beautiful yet dark which is how I like the music I listen to especially choir, band, orchestra, or all of the above. Keep up your great videos. I look forward to more.
'So here comes the Lesson of Storms, don't be like the neighbour enamoured by trancing love, its a dance insane, inane beauty will wither, watch your lover turn ugly at some far off New Years Eve'.

To late. My undead army is already conquering the universe. They'll be here at any moment. Soon you all will taste the cramping pain of ice against your bones. Your flesh will be fed to my ungodly hounds...
The text/lyric is from the ancient, traditional poetic prayers at the time of death and on the Day of the Dead/All Souls, 2 November (as per the Western Church, Catholic and churches of the Reformation that grew from that Foundation), translated here from the Latin: "Deliver me (Libra me), O Lord, from death eternal on that fearful day, When the heavens and the earth shall be moved, When thou shalt come to judge the world by fire. "I am made to tremble, and I fear, till the judgment be upon us, and the coming wrath, When the heavens and the earth shall be moved. "That day, day of wrath, calamity and misery, day of great and exceeding bitterness, When thou shalt come to judge the world by fire. "Rest eternal grant unto them, O Lord: and let light perpetual shine upon them."
***** Yeah, you're right Eric. I think it's played when Brad Pitt is telling the story to Christian Slater at the start and the scene fades from present day to New Orleans in the late 1700s (?)
Paul Currie It's also played when we have our overview shot of San Francisco during the opening credits, and then again right after Brad Pitt finds the ashes of Kirsten Duntz and the other woman.

It can be considered as being such a little depressing music as thinking and feeling takes us to a world of mysteries nepatrauns, mysterious, yet express a reality impossible refused and an urge to meditation a little deeper. Master Congratulations and continued success!

Nah, that's probably potato. For we are on the skin, possibly going to be ripped off, and cut up then dunked into a vat of bubbling oil then sold in Mc Donalds or something
+gustav Lewin Yup. Latin; translates to 'deliver me'. Used at the Roman Catholic Mass for the Dead. It may sound creepy, but when we understand the meaning and symbolism behind it, it's very beautiful and peaceful.
I used to listen to this whilst playing Dark Souls. Adds great atmosphere to that game while hopelessly wandering around a world full of darkness and death.

interview with a vampire, amazing music, love it......
SO beautifully dark!! I wish people showed more of this then what popularity listens to know, so people can see what actual true music is.
Glad I found this song again so many years later
