  • Very proud that our REWIND platform has been honored by the 'ESG with You' series highlighting the best CSR initiatives of companies supported by the Argos Wityu investment fund.
Discover the story of a 1932 "Cigar Cutter" saxophone that was recently retrieved from an attic. Slowly, it is being reborn under the care of our technician Martin Deutsch, before it is ready to find a new owner.
Launched by Henri SELMER Paris in 2021, REWIND is the reference platform for second-hand SELMER instruments. Vintage or recent, these instruments are overhauled in our workshops and then proposed for sale on our site to continue their journey. Now it's up to you to give them a second wind…

I have a #13,XXX series Cigar Cutter alto. Bought it in '94 from a guy in Brooklyn. Said he played it during the heyday of the big bands. Had it repadded and played it for 25 years. Now it needs a complete restoration overhaul. Have two new altos. Neither one sounds as sweet as the Cigar Cutter.

Great horn. I bought one years ago for a school I was teaching at in the Uk. I don’t know where it is now! Selmer horns are just the best. Thanks for your video. God bless. Bill. Uk

Why is it called a cigar cutter?

Because the octave key mechanism resembles a cigar cutter.
