I have a Selmer Tenor with the "cigar cutter" octave mechanism ( serial number 17,359) and it still plays like a dream. Only 180 ever made . Amazing

How wonderful, and I'm so glad you play it, truly, to me, one of the saddest things is a beautiful musical instrument that sits forgotten in a closet. I imagine that your tenor has a distinctly different tone. I have a Buescher TT silver alto from 1925 and it has a very sweet sound, very different from my modern horns (I have a Serie III and a Yamaha alto as well)

I own one of the other 180 (17179), by far the best horn I’ve ever played.
