Received the cola then my rent went up my food stamps went down and the price of groceries and paper products went up, so many times I would wish they would just keep it ,it hurts instead of helps and I know I'm not the only one feeling this

Same for me, got extra $45 from cola, rent raised $33, snap lowered $94, now losing ACP for internet too so basically getting about $120 less a month.
I'm low income senior living in HUD subsidized apartment. My rent went up by $25, SNAP food amount reduced about $100 ($240 down to $137). Now internet is going from $8 mo up to $40. COLA is not keeping us even with actual cost of living. 😞
@@karenbrown1214 It’s a struggle, our apartments are HUD subsidized also, they are actually doing the inspections today through Thursday. I can’t leave my apartment because I don’t want to leave my autistic 18 year old son here alone in case they choose our apartment to inspect. They are doing 26 apartments randomly. It seems like the cola makes it worse actually.

If you are on SSDI your not a senior because, your not on Social Security Retirement and, your not 62 or older, because, if you are that benefit according to the government!
It would certainly help. I think seniors up to a specified income should get max SNAP for household size.

While living on SS retired COLA is appreciated but caused my SNA0 to be cut in half so really didn't help

I am very excited. Each year with a cola increase I lose part of my SNAP. I am a senor, and my SSI/SSA is on the lower side. It seems like the less you have, the heavier you are hit.

With the cola increase many on ss that get extra help with medicaid paying their medicare premiums are now having to pay it out of their ss checks. The monthly premium payment is aroung $180 and the cola increase was less than $100. How does that help the elderly? I know of 5 elderly people that this happened to. Shame

Girl I have spectrum and it's $95 a month just for internet and the longer your with spectrum the higher your bill goes up every year no matter how good you are at paying on time all the time . Since there's no more ACP the only option to lower my bill is to cancel my internet for 30 days then start it up again by paying $100 for installitation(what a joke just to connect 1 wire) fee then my monthly bill would be $49.99 a month instead of $95 . It's ridiculous how spectrum is charging so much for just internet with no breaks for over 60 and or disabled !

Scamcast never sent out a notice I even called and customer service rep. had no idea on when it would end unless they are told to tell customers this since so many people are either disconnecting or downgrading their internet/ cable packages.
I would love "COLA Don't Count" which is a wonderful thing if passed. What I don't understand about the farm bill is the government is paying farmers not to grow certain crops and then they import produce from different countries. What sense does that make? Hey, Shayla I got approved for snap benefits, but they me $27 Dollars because of my husband,s retirement and my SSI disability.
But they did give that for three months ,but after it will be that amount for the rest of the year. I live in Houston, TX.

I read that you don't have to report an increase in (work) income of less than $100 to SNAP. But when SS increases, that is automatically reported and the benefit reduced in January...while others can wait until their renewal to report increased income.
