That's part of his character development. Leona does somehow learn a lesson about what he did back EP 2 despite it's atrocious storyline.
I short, Leona eventually learns that he can not just swoon people by just proving to them how talented he is, that's what people are, poorly judgemental, and to that, only you can see your full potential. But sadly I feel that Leona hasn't seen the good things about him.
I think he knows that.
I feel like he has sort of moved on from that stage. Not entirely, but enough for him to view himself from a moderately objective third person point of view
I mean, I think Leona half knows this. From what we've seen in the story thus far, he's gotten better in the sense that he no longer thinks his life will go nowhere and, in his own way, is trying to do better. However, he clearly never quite realized that other people aren't really "not recognizing him." We see it during Chapter 2. A lot of Leona's complaints are revealed to just be insecurities. His older brother is shown to actually recognize Leona's talent and clearly tried to encourage him to do well, while his nephew clearly looks up to him. Leona's biggest enemy is himself because he struggles to realize that other people DO see his talent; if they have complaints it is because they are rightfully noticing how he doesn't even try to apply himself to ANYTHING.
I love the idea of Leona calling Jamil out like this. Even if Leona is pulling some of this from his own experience, it gives the lion a chance to shine a wise senior. Also revealing parallels that the boys have as part of the overblot club
I don't think Leona is looking down on others, more like Vil, who knows if those students who they lead had alot of room for development and yet they all act like they're better than everyone.
Leona is no longer like before, he sees potential in others, as long as they are responsible with themselves.
The way he explains the perks and the flaws of the dorm leaders who he barely interacts with shows how crazy observant he is, more better than Rook will be. Not to mention in Jamil's school uniform story, he predicts that Jamil will betray Kalim based on his expression.
"Your just a loser who keeps making excuses for themselves" YIKES Leona, now is definitely not the time to cause an argument
Leona's talk no jutsu could use some work. But there's a measure of truth in it. As the famous saying goes: The truth will set you free but first it will piss you off

I think Jamil needed this. Leona telling him straight up is what he needed.
Jamil, I thought you said you're over with holding back. Kalim already give you the freedom to stand out on your own and yet here you are.
I'm glad he ended up with Leona on this quest.
I definitely love Leona's character development in this chapter!!! And he's definitely has some points. Even though he needs to be a little more considerate and kind with his delivery, but I'm proud that he's straight up telling Jamil all this. Jamil needs someone who can tell him that to be able to change for the better. Great job Leona 👍❤

I love that even though Leona doesn’t exactly get along with Riddle and Azul, he sees their strengths.
I’m glad that he is calling out Jamil. Jamil needs some tough love because it’s easy to see he didn’t grow much after his overblot. Nothings really changed with him sadly. I’m glad these two got put together (same with riddle and Azul as they have a few things that need yo be worked out as well)
