You hate him at first, then you hate him some more (and wonder why anyone would like this character in the fandom), and then your mind is blown, then it is blown some more, then more, and then you love him (and get the fandom finally).
I love Itachi's last quote. Every others disapoint with Sasuke's mindset at this point, and Itachi is the only one still love him whatever he choose to do from now on. This really seperate the love of Itachi for Sasuke and how others love Sas, and yes, the same as how their parents love Itachi even when they had different choices.

The forehead bumping was symbolism of equality, it shows that itachi now viewed sasuke as an equal. It’s a change from the usual tapping of his forehead with his fingers Which meant he was a minor
Because of these moments that Itachi has alot of Naruto fans , it's Far don't get me wrong, he's one best characters in the whole series along with Pain, Obito, Madara and Kakashi Imo.

i will love you always is, obviously, one of naruto's BEST moments. BUT, i fear it's SO good, it causes another of naruto's BEST moments to go underappreciated. fugaku dropping the "i'm proud of you" to itachi as itachi is about to literally stab him in the back? gut-wrenching, fucking BRUTAL stuff. having empathy for his own son even in the face of his death is insanely good characterization for a dude who gets very, very little -- while also being perfectly in line with what we've seen of him through other flashbacks.
I think the best part that no other reactors mention that doesn’t get enough credit is the fact that Itachis parents knew he wasn’t going to kill Saske. His father just asked Itachi to take care of his little brother learning Itachis decisions and choosing the Leaf over his own clan. He knew what kind of heart Itachi has and knew he would never do anything to hurt Saske
My favorite part of this episode is that it implies that when Madara asked "Do you want these clones to use Susanoo or not?" The 5 Kage were like, "Yeah okay."
The episode that made everyone cry. This episode has one of the best sentences in this arc. Itachis parents acknowleding their son and his decision is powerful, also this line about their pain being gone in an instand while he still has to suffer ... it must be hard for a parent to know what pain will await their child in the future. I really love that they are still proud of him, even if they don´t agree of his descision. And though you can argue what kind of parents Fugaku and Mikoto were, they were definitely real Shinobi who didn´t run away as death was coming for them. Instead they sat there waiting for it and it somehow reminded me of the Samurais Harakiri. It gives off the feeling of a more honorable death. For me the most powerful scene is as Itachi is crying on his sword right before killing his parents. The only thing I always found a bit off was Itachis "Now I believe that you could perhaps have changed mother and father" because no, I absolutly can´t see them (or anyone else in the Uchiha, to be honest) to listen to litte Sasuke and overthinking their plans. As sad as it is, at that time Sasuke didn´t hold any power and had no saying in the clan. But Itachi always kept Sasuke at an arms length with that headpoke, keeping a certain distance between them. Now, on their last moments together, he anknowledged Sasuke and all that he is as an equal, pulling him close and putting their foreheads together instead of flipping him away with his finger.
Itachi said that because he realized that his parents actually care about Sasuke as much as he did when he was asked to choose between the clan or Sasuke, and Itachi also said that his little brother worth more than the village itself. Then, when his father asked him to take care of Sasuke, he realized that his parents wouldn't want anything to happen to little Sasuke either, which makes it possible that Fugaku might cancel the coup if little Sasuke knows about the plans. But yeah, Itachi realized that a bit late.. RIP Legend.

Imo, making shisui the hokage would have solved problems. Uchihas would be happy that an uchiha is hokage, and both hiruzen as well danzo knew shisui wants peace in villsge and he was strong af.
Danzo as a character was always confusing his actions would always contradict with his words and ideals he says he cares about konoha but he has always pushed any and every allies of the leaf away at every chance he was able to.... But his flashback pretty cleared it up... He doesn't actually care about konoha not in the way you would think... All he case about is being better than Sarutobi Hiruzen that's why he always did things he believed Hiruzen wouldn't this guy deluded himself for soooooooooo long that even he himself began to believe his lies
When i saw this EP, the words: Zutto aishiteiru, i just cried for a while. Itachi was always the bad guy, but he was like Naruto but different and yet the same!

Hiruzen was a terrible Hokage, not because he was hesitant; but because lack of backbone, his indecisiveness would later come back bite to haunt him. 1: he allowed Orochimaru to escape 2: he allowed Danzo to get away with a lot of thing; the Foundation, what happened to Shisui and the Uchiha, and leaking Naruto status as a Jinchuriki to the village 3: he didn’t protect Naruto, leaving to fend for himself.

Hiruzen is not a bad Hokage. The main issue is Danzo. Whenever him or someone tries to come up with a good solution, Danzo mess things up and making the problem worse. Even Tsunade have trouble dealing with him.

Yeah Itachi is a faliure as a character , he was supposed to be evil but because he was so popular Kishimoto tried to justifying genocide he commited by having other characters worshipping him as a great shinobi and also Sasuke who he used Tsukuyomi to show him the slaughter of his cousins and family ,told him to kill his best friend which led him to Orochimaru, he still thinks he is greatest guy which is ridicoulous. . Also he was helping Akatsuki collecting Jinchuuriki , if he was a good spy he would have told Konoha the Akatsuki members abilities and powers and then Asuma wouldn't die , he killed his clan and family for possibility of a " civil war" and other nations invading as a would be story from Danzo who attacked his friend Shisui and stole his eye, and Konoha was destroyed by the leader of the organisation Itachi joined because of Danzo and Konoha using country of Rain as battle ground . Konoha is the source of all wars,First Hokage gave away nukes in form of Jinchuuriki and also reanimation and Orochimaru are from Konoha.
It was clearly explained, nothing is justified about Itachi's actions, I don't know from where you got that, Itachi himself regrets it and calls himself a failure, Itachi could not send information about the akatsuki to the leaf because he made a deal with Tobi, and the deal was that he would join the akatsuki only if the akatsuki did not attack the leaf, nor sasuke at least till he was alive, and Tobi kept his word, and sasuke had to show that to sasuke to give him more hate which in the case of an uchiha make him stronger, strong enough to kill him and become a hero of the leaf, you clearly didn't understand Itachi's story
If Itachi hadn't sacrificed his family and clan the uchihas would have clearly destroyed the village using the nine tails and other rival villages would have taken advantage of that, it would have led to more bloodshed, no one in the anime has called Itachi a hero for what he did, you can even say that what Itachi chose was a wrong decision, but that's the point, it was a choice between two horribly wrong decisions, there was no middle ground as danzo and his dad were so adamant about having things their way, so Itachi had to choose the less horrible one leading to fewer deaths, it's all clearly explained in the anime and Itachi's story, I don't know what more do you want
