As said by the man pictured three times and even labelled once (3:06) but not actually mentioned in the vid despite being in the band for the bulk of its duration. Always enjoyed your guitar playing on "Nervous on the Road" as well as the cracking "dark" take on Chuck's "Come on" you did after the Brinsleys split.
If i remember well, that first album had a twofold sleeve an there wasn't even a decent photo of drummer Bill Ranking - just an accidental picture, him driving in a car in the distance, communicating he was the less gifted one. But at least he had a car. Hahaha.
Digging your videos, Bernie! Just one defense of Stick to Me, which I love: Didn’t the tapes get damaged, requiring them to re-record the whole shootin’ match in a week or so? Also, having Martin Belmont’s looser, slashing lead playing perfectly balanced Brinsley’s more precise and controlled style of soloing. Heck of a band, eh?
Sorry to sound like a pedant but my understanding is that this band were called and known as ‘ Kippington Lodge rather than ‘THE’ Kippington Lodge. Named after the house of the Schwartz family that became a rehearsal space in the early days
BIG fan of the Brinsley Schwarz/Rumour/Dave Edmunds/Ducks Deluxe amalgamation! Shame on you for not tracking down the subsequent Brinsley albums! Silver Pistol, Nervous On The Road, Please Don't Ever Change and New Favourites rock like nobody's business! Agree that the first 4 Graham Parker albums are excellent, but after that, not so much. And I agree, "Heat Treatment" is his best.
Brinsley rocked. Great band that I still listen to.
Me too
What you don't know about the Brinsley Schwarz group could fill volumes!

Excellent video. Surprised to hear an American familiar with Brinsley Schwarz and aware of Kippington Lodge
Thank you, and you might be surprised what I am familiar with and I always loved Brinsley Schwarz.

I will have to pull out my album and check. Thanks

Thanks for the comments. Hadn't heard about damaged tapes, could be. Yeah just a great band.

Opps. Reminds me of McCartney telling Yoko, it's The Beatles love, not Beatles. Thanks for correction

Thank you, loved the band, my bad for missing later albums, I will look into those. Love Heat Treatment. Thanks for comments.
1:00 You got Brinsley and Billy round the wrong way in the labelling.
Certainly possible. Hard to figure out who is who in those photos.
Small clarification to your 'probably'. The 'journalists' were far more than a bit tipsy from the free booze and the delay!
Well I was being kind.
