Absolutely 💯 they truly help others with these issues that are New to it. They are SO Honest and Share EVERYTHING REGUARDLESS!!! Amazing couple, Amazing family, and this man is harder working than many with no physical issues. I LOVE THIS FAMILY
I have cerebral palsy and I am definitely in solidarity with you and your family. It's more than that though. You don't have to be a quadriplegic or a paraplegic to have problems with dealing with diarrhea. I'm relatively new to your Channel and I want to let you know I admire your outlook, tenacity and faith. You seem like a very loving husband and father and are a good reminder to those temporarily able bodieds out there that the disability changes and shapes a person but doesn't make him or her who she is. I should also tell you that I am a colon cancer survivor. I have two suggestions/ regarding the preparation for your colonoscopy. I know they work because I've done them both. I live alone. The first solution isn't pleasant but it's practical. Put your shower chair in the shower with the hole open and just stay put for as long as you can. I brought a folding plastic table in with me and put the prep formula beside me along with a book and I also put my Google Home in the bathroom so that I could call people and pass the time and get help had I needed it. You might know this already but maybe some readers don't: you can't use Google to call 911. Being in the shower makes clean up much easier for everybody. The second solution is to ask your primary care physician and the surgeon to request that due to special circumstances/ disability you request to be admitted to the hospital the night before so that you can get help with the prep but that you want to do the actual colonoscopy in the surgery center that is connected to the hospital so that you pay less for the procedure but if something goes wrong, the full hospital is right there. Where I live, the hospital and the Day Surgery Center are connected and even in the same building. I really pray these suggestions help anyone who reads them. I also pray that you and your family have a deeply spiritual, joyful, loving and productive 2024. I pray for your wife with her MS. She seems like a great mom. God bless you both abundantly.
You guys are the most humble and strong people I’ve heard about in a long time! It’s good to see that you have inner peace and joy that can only come from the Lord. Praying for you all. ❤
I salute your dignity you two ! Being a fellow wheelie, I know exactly how exhausting the process would have been. Bowel accidents are the worst ! 100% if you manually evacuate, it's likely there'll be blood in your stool sample & they'll want to do 'bum (butt) tv' on you. Done a couple of 'bum tv' episodes as a wheelie downunder in Melbourne, Australia & thankfully both were clear. Yeah, the clean out the night before ain't pretty & that drink, why can't they make it taste better ? ! Thankfully I prep'd in hospital & the angels that are our nurses did an amazing job helping me. I'm T10-11 & I did not go under for the procedure, I watched the live feed on screen along with the doctors. It's pretty cool to see inside yourself in real time !
Just wanted to let you know that my “poop in the box” sample came back positive too. My colonoscopy was totally clear, no polyps. I don’t have to have my next colonoscopy for 10 years!! Thanks for this video! Sending all the positive thoughts your way!!😍♥️
Same with me!! So thankful don't have to do that again soon! When the nurse told me I didn't have to have one again for 10 years I squealed like a little girl. 😆🤣 She told me she'd be retired before then ! Lol !
Forgot to also say .really helps Vaseline or protocon is like Vaseline because man the butt gets a little raw sometimes. Unless you have a bidet to wash each time, either warm water. Still, I used some grease each time. Your face is priceless. Dan says how it tastes lemony. Your awesome!! Hope it's all clear and your good for years. I can't believe there aren't more people with your problem that can help with some advice they went through. ❤❤❤❤❤❤💞 💔😭
I have gastroparesis (paralyzed stomach) and have had colon cancer. With my colon cancer I lost part of my colon and the muscles that go with them. So bathroom problems always exist. So here’s what I have to do. I start 4 days prior to the colonoscopy with clear liquids jello, chicken or beef broth, etc nothing of a blue, purple or red color. As long as it was clear and the right color I can have as much as I want. On the day before (whatever day or time the dr tells you it depends on your surgery time) I begin the treatment. I am allergic to artificial sweeteners so I can’t use the drink I have to do pills and lots of water. When it starts I just am stuck on the toilet. I take a pillow and a blanket and camp out until it’s time to go to the hospital usually wearing a “diaper” is embarrassing and just feels wrong but is what it is. Usually takes me 4-7 days after the colonoscopy to get my bowels moving again. It is a yearly thing since the cancer and that was 10 years ago. I would suggest using a disposable pad or an old towel for your transfer to the shower and maybe just until the whole ordeal is done just to make your life easier (also on the car seat). This is not fun and is an ordeal but is WAY better than having colon cancer! Good luck I’m praying for you.
THIS COMMENT ^ !!! I do something very similar and have complete digestive paralysis and I'm a wheelchair user. This is pretty much how get through it.
As a RN of 20+ years, I was going to actually recommend clear liquids 3-4 days prior minus blue, red, purple colors (these look like blood in the colonoscopy) just like this individual said. Another thing to help bulk up your stools after a GI bug, flu, etc. use fiber. I know it sounds weird, but I have had numerous patients do this (as well as ordered by doctors) to stop the loose, watery diarrhea. Examples: metamucil, benefiber My thoughts & prayers to you and your family.
It’s not just that “eating a bagel” would leave food in your body BUT you’re going under anesthesia for the colonoscopy and undigested food can be vomited & aspirated.
That happened to an acquaintance. Had a heart attack on the table after vomiting due to eating that morning and I believe it was during or after the endoscopy he had done with his colonoscopy. From what his family said, he can only move his eyes. So very sad. No food prior is very important.
I am so proud of you for sharing such a raw video to help others. Especially in a time you are uncertain of how it's going to work. Thank you for putting this out there for others who may feel uncomfortable asking about this situation. Much luv 😊
Not sure if this would save you going through this again Dan, but possibly worth enquiring about having a colonic irrigation where faeces is cleared this way.... just a thought! Blessings to you both. ❤
This is something that absolutely should be looked into. I know someone with a supercolon that has to have irrigation regularly and it really clears him out. It would probably be done in conjunction with everything else.
@@alliekolomiyets8234 Instead of doing the SUPER SALTY GoLitely or other drinks for Colonoscopy, get an 8 Oz bottle of MiraLax or WalMart brand & add it to you Clear Drinks!! So much easier & works just as well as the Nasty Crap without the taste!!
Colonoscopy is rough no matter what. I can only imagine how tough it is for you. I use Desatin diaper cream the whole night through before the procedure. Also maybe ask about having it done later in the day so you can get some sleep the night before. All the best to you both. Carol T
Its really important to follow the instructions the doctor gives you before the procedure. Its means you need to stay on the liquid diet and start the cleanse a lot earlier than 10 pm. I know you figured that out but to others facing that dreaded test, its important to know that. I have spinal problems with multiple surgeries and my bowels are some what like yours. It takes very little to start things rumbling and then not be able to get things settled back down. It also takes very little to make my stomach sick and then that just starts endless problems. For us my doctors are 3 hours away and if i can't do video appointments, I often have to cancel and/or change my appointments because I just can't make the trip. Its difficult for us to stay in a hotel so those trips are usually saved for surgeries, which i have one coming up. Its nice to see that you are starting to talk about the problems you face instead of just the happy points. It makes your life seem more realistic and let's others feel less alone.
Every colonoscopy that I’ve had to have has been a disaster due to being a paraplegic. They can’t seem to understand our bodies work differently. I go into full panic mode now when they mention a colonoscopy. I had to start having them early due to my dad’s history of colon cancer.
Dan, I feel your frustration. I've just been through this, and it's was a nightmare. I've been using a chair full-time for about 10 years now and had to have a colonoscopy last week. I spent all night on the toilet for the same reason as you, no control. My prep near killed my body. Exhausted and pain. The colonoscopy itself when well.... My advice from my own experience is to start preparing a week before with light meals and loads of water. The day before my prep , I started my liquid diet, then the night before starting at 6 pm, drinking the prep liquid, and as much water as you can. Helps with dehydration. I was on the toilet from 7pm-8am, with a short break of about an hour in that time. My last prep drink was at 5.30 am. My procedure was scheduled for 1.30pm, and I was home by 5.30pm. I have to have another colonoscopy in 3 years' time, and I'm so not looking forward to that. Best of luck with your preparation 🙏
This brings back memories i had forgotten. I have no bowel spinctors. Anywhere, anytime i cant get to br. I sat on toilet with my pillow and blanket all nite and morning and refused any help from nurses. Next time i think i will ring them a few times. 😮
you did it regardless of the challenge you are braver than me a non wheelchair bound person. Coloscopy is on my list of things to do and I don't want too.
My sister just did hers n it wasn't too bad, but it took her the whole day n 1 more to feel back to normal! She's 60yo so her 1st 1 she can recall having! God bless u n good luck! 🙏❤️❤️🫣👀💯
I want to thank you for being so open about your struggles as a paraplegic man. It is very enlightening. Im sure some of this is embarrassing but very helpful for others who help and other paraplegics. Im a nurse, thank you!
I am not paralyzed. I am 62 and have had Crohn's Disease since my mid 20's. I have been wearing protection due to not knowing what is going to happen when. This has been every day for the past year. You will be fine. The worst is just drinking the nasty solution. Love you and the family.
I am making one more comment, you are the sweetest couple ever, my being sick is hard on my healthy husband, he has no understanding of what it's like but you both suffer and your compassion for each other is beautiful! I can still walk, but I have Lupus, Chrones, RA and an interesting list of all the rotten gifts lupus has bestowed for the last 30 years. I feel blessed everyday I'm here and can still bring faith and love to others. God has always brought me through the times I've coded and through all the life saving operations and I love to share what blessings I've been given. Seeing you share the good, bad, ugly and poopy parts of life is a true blessing to others, thank you for sharing and you are in my prayers lovely people..
As a non-disabled person, prepping for the colonoscopy is a nightmare. I hope you find a DR that can help you. I have issues where I wake up and I have a 'mess' in my bed. It is so humiliating. I'm trying to say that I understand. My thoughts are prayers are with you. 'This too shall pass '. Thank you for being open with your journey. ❤️🙏
It’s a real drag Dan. But the outcome is worth it. Better safe than sorry. That’s really sad you don’t have control. Your a heck of a man to share this with all of us. We are all only human and it doesn’t change what is on the inside. You both look great and still are so young. You should of put that in Gatorade or power aid. I mix both bottles of that all in one and just chug it down. Seems forever to get it all down. I’m wishing you luck with your test. Beautiful couple and blessed family. Stay safe and well. Much love and prayers to you all. ❤️🙏🏻💯🐶🙌🏻
You're face drinking the "lemonade "is spot on. I've had to drink that lovely concoction numerous times. It never gets any better. Colonoscopies are so very important, and thank you for having the wherewithal to share your experiences with it.
Soft food diet for one week, then do the meds...so when you reschedule, you can plan ahead and...I have to do the digital stimulation and elimination too (for those that don't know, someone sticks a finger up and digs out...I can myself, but others cannot...I use to have to help my husband, yet I am a widow now...he too died of colorectal cancer I am now fighting too, 10 years after he passed..
You are an amzing human for sharing this as who knows who can be helped by your story! 2nd- i was a CNA( Certified Nursing Assistant) for almost 50 years, during that time i cared for elders, disabled adults/children, developmentally disabled adults/children, so my opinion/story could also be helpful. The best thing a disabled fella needs always is a great support system and you have that covered! Your sense of humor and hers are so important!!❤❤I can't tell you how many colonoscopy preps, impactions digitally removed, and hundreds of hours of cajoling, and outright bribing i've done getting folks who don't know what's happening to drink that absolutely awful drink or to lay down for a digital wonderland trip🤣🤣🤣 I'm so sorry this is so hard, it's horrible for me personally, but it has to be so much harder when you have no sensation down there. Thank God we only have to do them occasionally!! We're with ya Dan!!!❤❤❤
Clear diet for 2-3 days drink lots of fluids so not to become dehydrated. Best wishes. I’m upset that the medical profession treated y’all so badly. I’m an NP we need as a community to educate because you can’t tell me they haven’t had a patient like yours before. The doctor should have spoke to you out of respect. Thanks for sharing. Again I’m so sorry for how you were treated. ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻happy late Anniversary
It is so hard to know who you can actually trust these days to be completely honest on YT or any social media platform these days. So many people fake videos for views etc or you find out they have their children duct taped in a safe room. You guys are one of the VERY few i actually trust.
I have severe gastroparesis one thing that helps me is a tea I drink in the a.m. called "smooth move". Non caffienated, i put honey in it and sometimes have to do two packets to loosen ANYTHING. I know what you mean when you say F.O.S that's exactly what my exray showed as well. My last coloscopy they literally had to pressure wash me out to see anything. SO EMBARRASSING. Try massaging the intestines regularly as well. People take pooping for granted! I literally CANNOT GO without stool softners every night and tea every day and then it's still at least a few days. Ugh. So sorry for your experience!😢
Yep, another gastroparesis sufferer here. I lacerated my colon and now I have to be admitted for a colonoscopy since going too fast can make me vomit profusely.
That's just wrong that the Dr didn't inform you about the process!! Eating a meal started the whole process going again. I wouldn't go back until you get to talk to the Dr. I'm a retired RN.
I want to add, even if you are not in a wheelchair, and have a spinal cord injury, what you said happens to us too...(motorcycle accident 5 spine surgeries, brain injury too...somehow I am still standing...for now....Loosing the use of both hips...Prayers to you...I have had 5 spine surgeries SO far...ankylosis spondylitis & Scoliosis too...and I am fighting cancer growths right now...Yeah that is NOT a good answer...there needs to be something better done...My bowels and bladder both shut down when THEY want too...(I take the same needle med to help go poo) and I have LUPUS, that shuts things down too....prayers to you and Happy Holidays no matter what!
Two thumbs up for drinking that terrible stuff.. I had to drink the same thing before a surgery a little while back and I already have a bathroom issues due to a gulbladder that decided to blow up.. that stuff made me so sick I had to sleep on the bathroom floor thank God I had my mom with me.. she didn't sleep on the bathroom floor but she left the door open and checked on me every hour my surgery went very very well and I had the most spectacular doctors on the planet I love them to pieces.. good luck with your colonoscopy I know the title said it went wrong but I'll finish watching the video now
YOU ARE SUCH A ATTRACTIVE MAN. IN ALL WAYS. YOUR A GREAT HUSBAND AND A WONDERFUL FATHER AND YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF BEAUTIFULLY EVEN WHEN DISCUSSING UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATIONS. I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT YOU ARE MY FAVORITE FAMILY AND I ABSOLUTELY THINK THE WORLD OF YOU ALL. YOU ARE WHAT ALLLLLLLL MEN SHOULD STRIVE TO BE. I ASK GOD TO BLESS YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY WITH GREAT LOVE ,GOOD HEALTH AND A LIFETIME OF HAPPINESS AND SUCCESS.
I absolutely adore you two. Thank you so very much for sharing ur story about this. I wish you all the luck n send many blessings getting through everything you both go through. GOD BLESS you BOTH. 🙏❤️
You might want to consider going to a Naturopath. They can explain nature ways to avoid the issues the medical industry instigated in the first place. Love you guys!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It was very brave of both of you. Very selfless. 😇 I, too, just went through all that prep last week, but was sent home saying they couldn’t do it - reschedule in 6 weeks. I’m 68 yrs old and my night of prep was like yours. Don’t know if I will reschedule… It’s just too difficult for some of us. The doctors should HAVE to have it two times a year to keep them in touch with real life & their patients !!
I am still having issues with my left hip since having a colonoscopy two years ago. Even now I’m on the sofa because this has developed into sciatica down my leg and into the bottom of my foot. When it was over I asked my doctor what happened when I was under. Of course they said nothing, but I never had this until that day. I will never have another one of these and I now hear of So many people with problems after having this procedure
Yes, they make a lot of mistakes that injured patients without them knowing. As a former ICU RN, I saw too many patients that were seriously injured by their physicians. The best thing to do is not to do any invasive tests unless absolutely necessary.
Did you all know these cleanouts are not approved by the AMA ? My dr told me this after my spouse had a colonoscopy and got a bacterial infection and almost died. Do your research cause it happens more often than u think. What happens ...when you poop out all the healthy bacteria that your body needs to fight bad bacteria it cant lead to a serious infection and even death. My spouse and i will only do a partial cleanout now. Found a dr who dont require complete clean out only the botom part of the colon. We know another person who was hospitalized and almost died of the same thing. They put a family members poo inside them to build up healthy poo and bacteria.
@@PeaJayCee yes. My spouse had that along with another infection and was so sick they were praying for God to take them on. He was on prescription anti diahrera meds, prebiotic, yogurt for two and half years before he was back to normal.
Who cleans the equipment? What cleaning product? (See Dr mercola article). Sorry don't have the link......I am due for colonoscopy, just saw ad for nurse tech at my clinic ...one of the responsibilities listed was cleaning of equipment....that usually is on-the-job training yikes....I want a seasoned tech who takes pride that NOT one patient is infected because they do their job well.( Unsung hero in my book)
You are both such amazing people! I have a story with having a surgery and being blocked up and having to take the colonoscopy "juice" after about 7 days. I will spare you the details, but I wasn't able to sit down after my surgery. It was the worst and the hospital embarrassed me.... ugh! Sending you both lots of love! You are a great, great husband and Dad, Dan.
Why couldnt your doctor use Propofol for anesthesia? I have had that for every colonoscopy I’ve had and it’s wonderful! You don’t even know they are through with the colonoscopy until they wake you up! I’m just curious why this alternative anesthesia wasn’t implemented.
Omgosh! I can't imagine how challenging this was for you. I had mine done in March and it was a real s☆☆t show. Every time I thought all the liquid had shot out, there'd be more. Ended up trying to sleep on a puppy potty pad 😮! S☆☆t show just kept going. I can't imagine what this was like for you.
Before my first colonoscopy my friend told me to just sit on the toilet 🚽 for whatever time it took for the purge. Bring a tv tray for a book/phone. Do not wipe! You’ll run like a faucet which is expected. Just wait it out. The second time the prep solution CHAPPED MY HIDE even though I didn’t wipe. Fumes?? I would have used zinc ointment had I known.
Needed to ease back into food like clear liquids close to home😢I’m sorry you had to experience more emptying the ‘holding tank’. Added insult to injury. Redo on the date nite soon ❤
I’ve been extremely inspired watching you and your wife and even your children. watching the two of you, your faith in God all the obstacles you have to overcome, I can’t find words to tell you how it’s affected me. I wish you continued good health and the love of your family and God for all of you.
Geez, that sucks. You gotta do that again. medical people get into a lackadaisical way from doing this day today year of the year and they don’t listen at all. I’m retired nurse having my own issues and extremely frustrated and I can only imagine how horrible it is for you maneuvering your way through the medical system all the crap. You both gotta be extremely exhausted. Love you two. Take care. Thank you for sharing your story.
One time when I had a colonoscopy the doc gave me pills instead of the jug of fluid. It worked well, no problem. I know it’s too late, but another time for you maybe you can make an inquiry about it. I love your sense of humor. Best luck❣️
Happy Anniversary U 2❤ Aww as someone who worked in the ER & also has had a dbl scope (bum & throat), U just doo the best U can doo💁. Don't ever be embarrassed about your body dooing what it does. As I'm thinking, is it my age? (58) or have others had "Not so proud to be dooing what ya did" moments😉 when u were sick? Keep your sense of humour & y'all will always get thru whatever you're facing💑 Yes I use humour. Seriously, I'm not a Dr but please, please don't ever not take your colon seriously❕ My Dr puts me out (versed) during it. Red blood means u have time to get it ✅'d. Dark, go straight to the doctor no passing go
I am sorry that you had to go through this horrible and frustrating ordeal. The systemic injustice prevalent in Western medicine is such a frustrating and unnecessary problem. One thought is that they use super absorbent washable fabric underpads in the hospital and then put an oversized disposable piddle pad with a plastic backing on top of it which would have saved you the added hassle and time of having to clean your seat cushion several times and you can get them at places like Amazon. The only other thought is that I pushed to get SuTabs for my sister who has a sensitive gut system-it was 2 separate doses of 12 pills with lots of water at timed intervals and it worked well for her-much easier than having to drink 4 or 5 doses of the nasty liquid form of the same meds. Oh, and perhaps instead of thinking about going on a clear liquid diet for 4 days-it may work to start by eating easily digestible foods for a couple days then go clear liquids for a couple days and broth, especially clear bone broth does wonders for keeping nutrients in, but adhering to the prescribed diet 🤔🤔
I just came across your videos and I love hearing your story to learn new things I couldn’t find any follow up videos on how your second colonoscopy went? Better I hope!😊
That gastro was not experienced or did not assess him preprocedure, we are not all in yhe same box. I understand your frustration. I am in a similsr situation but also have ulcerative colitis and always have 5 days adjusted diet prep and double lot of prep evert 2 years. Its so much harder for us who already have so many issues. Praying for you, especially with the update.
I have a spinal injury I'm not paralyzed but I do have bladder and bowel issues do to the injury . It not fun . I keep blue pads or you might consider using an adult diaper while going thru the pre . I hope everything goes well . I think the drink taste like swamp water .
You are an amazing couple. Please remember you employ your doctor and nurses . They know more but you pay them to share their knowledge and treat you after listening to your questions and concerns. Dan you are a very incredible brave man for sharing your life. Thank you. God bless
I just had to get an endoscope, colonoscopy, hysteroscope and hysterectomy all within 2 months. So I ended you the prep several times and it was absolutely miserable. I feel for you.
I’m so glad that you two are so supportive of each other ❤❤❤ please know that you’re not alone. Many people have these trials, but are alone. I wish it weren’t that way.
Thank you for putting yourself out there. I have to have them every 3 years. Colon cancer runs in my family. I always have polyps but they have all been benign. I'm not paralyzed person but this how our family does the prep, 2 days before the procedure we only have chicken broth. Then it's not so bad for prep. You should consider a sports drink to keep your electrolytes up. God Bless
Happy belated anniversary ❤ it is so refreshing to see a couple still, if not more in love than the day they married. Thank you for sharing this experience with us. It will help some people that are dealing with the same issues. I am glad you are out of the hospital and your family is whole again. You truly are a dream team and inspiration to so many ❤❤❤
You know that your wife is a keeper if you can both joke about the frustration surrounding colonoscopy clear out. I'm able bodied and hate the clear out more than getting the actual colonoscopy. I have a condition called bile acid malabsorbtion, which is made worse by fasting and not being able to take my bile binding medication. I'm out of commission for around 4 days, including before and after the colonoscopy. The bile acid combined with the bowel prep makes it feel like I'm pooping lava. Vaseline is my friend during these times to prevent skin damage from the acidic liquid poop.
34:16 You 2 are such a strength for each other. Hang in there. This life is only a trial. I have learned that after many struggles in life. Just keep loving each other.
Your honesty about this very personal problem , I am sure has helped many who feel that they are. Alone with this problem. Hopefully a medical person sees this video and can help with a remedy.. It is beautiful the closeness and love you both have.
Prep for that is the worst I refuse to go thru it again. The home test yea mine came back positive it was wrong. have read those often are. my doc way over prepped me also- make them listen too u😊
Courageous for sharing this event in your situation. I've had one pre-op for colonoscopy and assisted my husband with 2 of them, and we are fully mobile.
I have so much respect and love for you . I admire you so much, aren’t there Dr’s out there in the G. I Department that knows how to do the job right that can preform the colonoscopy. This just shows Dr’s don’t know a lot of things
Y’all are so strong and brave! I’am a “regular” person and hate the prep for a colonoscopy I get so anxious before and during. I’am 73 years old and had 3 colonoscopies. The first and second were preventative and the 3rd one last year was because my poop in a box showed blood ( I had a really bad UTI and was bleeding from that). But I have learned with my prep for the colonoscopies is that the colder the drink is the better it tastes and easier to chug. All 3 of my colonoscopies were negative and my dr said my colon was nice and clear of any type of polyps. Good luck with if you do have to do the colonoscopy. And don’t feel bad about having to be on the commode all night and have accidents cause us “regular” people have the same problems. Oh and also a couple of days before my colonoscopy I start with a very soft diet and then full liquid diet it helps with getting cleaned out faster too. Again good luck and God Bless You Both Every Day!
Spinal cord injury nearly 30 years T 12 complete I too get the pain that feels like electricity running through my body -mine occur in my groin down through my legs it’s debilitating at times also regarding your colonoscopy I completely understand everything you said but I’m puzzled the doctor would not reschedule you sooner since you were already cleared out, I wish they would listen to us about our bodies too. I was only 17 and learned that I had to be my own advocate it’s so important- best wishes from Texas. PS I’m a mom of three kids, 23-year-old daughter, who’s married and just announced her pregnancy and a 14-year-old son and a six-year-old daughter, 2 natural births and last one a c section. I cath and must manually evacuate, our bodies are amazing but I’m constantly telling my children to take care of their bodies
My box test was negative but a few mo later still had to have the scope, found polyps.. now I’m torn, it will take me yrs to forget that prep 😂 I was sick for a wk after that. Science needs to catch up and develop a new prep, like what Dr thought this was good enough 😂😂
You poor Guy Colonoscopy’s are the pits for ANYONE , ive had to have them & stillll hate them im feelin for you Dan Much love & prayers to all of you ,,, HANG IN THERE YOU TWO SOOOO MANY PEOPLE LOVE ALL !!!!! Of you 💜😊
Blessings to you and your beautiful family, a big hug from Argentina. UA-cam gave me your channel because I watch people who fight for life every day without giving up, I send you all my strength and faith so that you get better and have no pain. Have a wonderful new year
That's the worst part about being in a wheelchair and having to have a colonoscopy. Especially the surprise surprise that comes. I tell my wife at least you can feel it coming. 😮😮
I just had my millionth on, hrones disease have 100% sympathy. I have accidents, not to you amount by any means. If you ever need to do it again io can tell you a much easier prep.
I woke up from one of my (7 so far , age 38) colonoscopies literally screaming, yelling at the top of my lungs. The doctor had overinflated my “insides” and we were worried about a perforation. One of my top 5 worst / most painful experiences of my life, getting shot is not even in the top 5. As far as I”skirt around” l you simply can’t, biopsies are important, the procedure it’s important, as much as I’d love to never have another the pros outweigh the cons even now, after two very very bad experiences. (which has left lasting damage, based off the educated guesses of several doctors however far too much time has passed) Best wishes to you and your loved ones!
I'm a retired nurse...I love that you and your wife are sharing your journey!! Such strong wise loving humans. You're an inspiration to all of us.
Absolutely 💯 they truly help others with these issues that are New to it. They are SO Honest and Share EVERYTHING REGUARDLESS!!! Amazing couple, Amazing family, and this man is harder working than many with no physical issues. I LOVE THIS FAMILY
As the mother of a paraplegic, i feel much empathy for you. I admire your courage to talk about those things that 'If you know, you know '. ❤️
I have found if you do 4 days. Drink alot of chicken broth and jello.
Thank you!
You guys are the most humble and strong people I’ve heard about in a long time! It’s good to see that you have inner peace and joy that can only come from the Lord. Praying for you all. ❤
Não pode ser traduzido para o português eu não falo e nem leio inglês ? EU gosto muito deles.
I 100% agree with you.
Lol !
Nice!!! ❤😅
@@flamingogirl57 thank you very much for sharing your day
Oh Man I need one and dred it so so much.
Oh wow wonder if colonic would be a better option vs drinking all those nasty drinks which are prob not that great for you anyway.
Colonic Irrigation is only a suggestion. I would imagine its not as thorough as the drinks, so wise to ask a doctor.
You are the definition of courage! Thank you for helping all of us.
you did it regardless of the challenge you are braver than me a non wheelchair bound person. Coloscopy is on my list of things to do and I don't want too.
My sister just did hers n it wasn't too bad, but it took her the whole day n 1 more to feel back to normal! She's 60yo so her 1st 1 she can recall having! God bless u n good luck! 🙏❤️❤️🫣👀💯
It’s not bad at all
😮 I am praying 🙏 for Dan ! You are right! God has Dan in his arms!
Happy Anniversary to such an adorable couple! 🌼
Accidents come with the process. It’s bringing back painful memories. Good luck Dan! Andrea get the bucket out. 🥴
You have inspiring strength and courage.
May your procedure and your recovery be a lot better than what you are imagining!!!!! And God bless your wife and children...😇
I take a medication that severely constipates me. It sucks. Wish I didnt only have a bowel movement once a week. So i kind of understand the struggle
Might be wise to have a portable bed pan, just for these events
Two thumbs up for drinking that terrible stuff.. I had to drink the same thing before a surgery a little while back and I already have a bathroom issues due to a gulbladder that decided to blow up.. that stuff made me so sick I had to sleep on the bathroom floor thank God I had my mom with me.. she didn't sleep on the bathroom floor but she left the door open and checked on me every hour my surgery went very very well and I had the most spectacular doctors on the planet I love them to pieces.. good luck with your colonoscopy I know the title said it went wrong but I'll finish watching the video now
I'll be holding your hand Dan 💯❤️you are always in my thoughts sending you lots of good healing vibes ❤️happy anniversary to you both ❤️
YOU ARE SUCH A ATTRACTIVE MAN.
I, too, just went through all that prep last week, but was sent home saying they couldn’t do it - reschedule in 6 weeks.
I will never have another one of these and I now hear of
So many people with problems after having this procedure
😳
I assume the infection was C-diff. I'm a retired nurse. I would know when a patient had it because the smell is undeniable.
Could this in any way be related to why he is so sick currently? This type of infection?
U. Ok . Sirr. We got you. .
YOU ARE THE MUST AMAZING FAMILY !
ALL AMERICA LOVES YOU❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bringing it to the front for others is so very important. Thank you.
Happy Anniversary and I'm so sorry you went through that
Why couldnt your doctor use Propofol for anesthesia?
The second time the prep solution
CHAPPED MY HIDE even though I didn’t wipe. Fumes?? I would have used zinc ointment had I known.
That's it brother, you got to do what you got to do. If anyone can do it YOU CAN. Love to you, your wife and the kids.
Wasn’t Dan told not to eat solids…?!
I have so much respect and love for you . I admire you so much. I think you’re such an awesome man. Your wife the luckiest woman in the world.
You both are the bravest, most humble and I pray for healing. Thank you for sharing.
Best luck❣️
I had the pills once too. Much easier on my body. They say they can't give the pills anymore but no explanation why!
PEOPLE WILL NEVER REALLY UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. I ADMIRE YOU FOR TRYING TO EXPLAIN THE PROCESS. GOD BLESS YOU. 😢😢😢😢
Keep your sense of humour & y'all will always get thru whatever you're facing💑
Yes I use humour.
I don’t have a spinal cord injury, but I had a stroke that left me paralyzed on my left side so I can relate to my bowels releasing when I move.
I just came across your videos and I love hearing your story to learn new things I couldn’t find any follow up videos on how your second colonoscopy went? Better I hope!😊
G-d protect you🙏🙏🙏long time suffering....you are a brave person 🙏😘
Bless your heart, hope you are feeling better. God be with you
Pls god heal this Man! ❤
Thank you for sharing something so personal. All my love.
I’m so glad that you two are so supportive of each other ❤❤❤ please know that you’re not alone. Many people have these trials, but are alone. I wish it weren’t that way.
I’m here holding your hand ❤
That sounds HORRIBLE!! 😖
I have that too... Sending gentle hugs to you xx
As a regular colonoscopy person I am in awe of you. It feels like all hell broke loose for a while. Hope you cope okay.
Your a young person ,I hope that they pay for the mistake that they did.God bless you and your family.
Prep for that is the worst I refuse to go thru it again.
The home test yea mine came back positive it was wrong. have read those often are. my doc way over prepped me also- make them listen too u😊
God bless you Dan and your family for being so brave, to put these videos, so others can understand your journey.
Courageous for sharing this event in your situation. I've had one pre-op for colonoscopy and assisted my husband with 2 of them, and we are fully mobile.
Thank you for putting light on an messy subject, could he do a colonic cleans
I have so much respect and love for you . I admire you so much, aren’t there Dr’s out there in the G. I Department that knows how to do the job right that can preform the colonoscopy. This just shows Dr’s don’t know a lot of things
Ya’ll are real people!!!We are all dealing with/different issues! Not all but a lot of us.
Again good luck and God Bless You Both Every Day!
courage. I think at moments like this. god where are you when people like you need him. I'm at a loss for words now. what I could say to support you.

That's the worst part about being in a wheelchair and having to have a colonoscopy. Especially the surprise surprise that comes. I tell my wife at least you can feel it coming. 😮😮
My husband and I have to get this done every 3 years. It's time to do it now. Ugh!!!! God Bless you and your wife.

I just came across your page, found your topic very informative. I like that the love you have for each other radiates from you. Beautiful couple 🥰
(which has left lasting damage, based off the educated guesses of several doctors however far too much time has passed)
Best wishes to you and your loved ones!
