      @@neonoir__Agreed, but I doubt Joshua Bardwell will go down a similar road. Not only is his channel a lot bigger than RR's he seems to always be super transparent and upfront about his content ( i do appreciate RR disclosing sponsorship though). I think JB really has the fpv community's best interest at heart and lately he has been actually been holding dji accountable for some of their missteps. It sucks because I really love Drew and the gang at RR and they can make some really fun and entertaining content but these sponsored videos are neither.

      @@aviator cool thanks for the reply! I do think that some fpv enthusiasts (myself included) put their blinders on when it comes to this drone and can only see the negatives. It is actually a really cool drone and quite the piece of engineering. And you know it is actually a neat way to jump into fpv. But it is also super costly, fragile and a locked system. Not sure if you actually ever 'own' the drone and goggles if you can't use them without dji activating them for you and that hasn't been so smooth for some. I am really happy that you and other new pilots get to fly fpv for the first time and if this is the route you take then good on ya. Its hard not to be hooked! I think there are better and more economical options for getting into fpv than tossing you the most expensive and breakable experience possible though and I would suspect Drew knows this too.

    The look on Drew's face as he realizes DJI just eliminated the learning curve that helps slowly build the pilots confidence and teaches the pilot to respect the danger of piloting such a machine 😳. Like putting training wheels on a hayabusa. Need to get this series out ASAP RR crew, and HEAVILY emphasize the safety and laws. I've already watch dozens of guys flailing their sticks hundreds of feet over pedestrians and traffic , flying from inside of vehicles, flying acro with the springs centered. The confidence it gives them out of the box is alarming. Only a matter of time before something stupid makes headlines negatively.

      This guy totally gets it and is something I have never seen brought up in any dji fpv videos. Is this dji drone somehow magically safe? If those props hit someone, is it less dangerous than with our 'conventional' fpv quads? Cause I've seen some mangled fingers and other nasty injuries from prop hits. I get it has obstacle avoidance but this is a 800g 6S flying blender that they are casually flying near people's faces without a care. All I see is horrible habits and a false sense of security if you are trying to learn 'fpv' with this drone.

    Great Video! Many people don't understand that if you purely want to learn flying freestyle, this drone is not for you. Buy a radio and fly in the simulator and then buy a real carbon bnf or something. This drone is for someone like this guy in the video, who wants to create cinematic high speed fpv style shots but couldn't actually control a real acro drone. And I guess 95% of the people who buy this drone will never switch to full manual mode and use it purely as a tool in sports mode, rather than a trainer for real acro/ freestyle flying.

    • @1ron0xide
      @1ron0xide 3 роки тому

      That's not true, I had never flown FPV or used a simulator before this drone and I was flying manual and doing powerloops on day one. People seem to think flying manual is difficult and it really isn't; what's difficult is wasting thousands of dollars and hours and parts on building little analog quads.

    • @1ron0xide
      @1ron0xide 3 роки тому

      No offense but 'real acro/freestylers' who 'can actually control a real acro drone' are absolutely horrible pilots and are great engineers. They are horrible at flying and crash their shit as if it's a hobby in and of itself; and then they spend their days learning to repair and build drones. You realize flying is actually super easy when you have a device that helps you actually learn.
      Just don't crash :) It's easy for me, why can't the 'experts' do it?

    • @johnny4498
      @johnny4498 3 роки тому +2

      @@1ron0xide Man you must be trolling 😂,,horrible flyers" you have no idea about the actual fpv community and the skills required to fly as well as many pilots do. Crashing is a normal thing in our hobby, that has nothing to do with your flying skills. You can't compare dij flying to freestyle. The one is a tool, the other one is mainly for fun. It is impossible to really fly pure acro after one day. Maybe you switched of manual mode for a short time in high altitude, made you power loop and switched on sport mode again. Another thing is, that if you turn on "manual" mode on the little switch on the back of the controller, the quad isn't flying in acro mode. You have to manually turn on manual mode deep inside the setting. I don't know why I am wasting my time on you but know I did

    • @1ron0xide
      @1ron0xide 3 роки тому

      @@johnny4498 You're right that they cant be compared because DJI is better in every single way. Honey, I know how to turn on full acro mode and as I've said I did it on day one, on only my second battery, and had a great time. Flying full acro is incredibly easy especially with these failsafes in place.
      Crashing is a normal thing for shitty pilots with shitty technology, but only under those 2 circumstances.

    • @1ron0xide
      @1ron0xide 3 роки тому

      @@johnny4498 The 'actual FPV community' is being slammed by a new technology that absolutely eradicates the learning curve and reveals that engineering/repair are the basis of FPV, not decent flying. You know that I'm telling the truth and you know that these channels themselves have spent years producing content explaining how lovely but how time- and cost-wise they are an absolute drain. DJI has fixed that and the tech is immeasurably better.

    Who would have thunk it ! ..7 ,8 years ago I was into Drones we called them quadrocopters back then LOL started with a 350QX then a Phantom 1 then Phantom 2 moved up to the $$ inspire 1 I loved them for aerial videos and playing around with FPV I had some money invested into this hobby best drone, best goggles , best long range antennas etc and it was all to help fill that need to be in the air looking down I had total knee replacements and had gained quite a bit of weight so drones aided me in a lazy mans quest to fly and honestly I really thought I would never fly again. But seeing all the FAA drone rules and regulations coming down I new I had to get out so I did. But still having that need to be in the air looking down. So as luck would have it in my search for a new flying machine I found my self visiting AviatorPPG not far from my home in Lake Wells and there I met Eric He took me in and taught me to fly paramotors and thanks to Eric I now have over 5 years and over 120 hours in my own Paramotor, I wouldn't trade it for the world , But ask me what brought me here to your video and the answer is I am thinking seriously about getting back into drones simply because DJI's new FPV drone looks like the tool I needed to get into the real FPV I was craving way back in the day it will go so well with the paramotor hobby .
    I'm ready to pull the trigger on the DJI FPV but I'm in no hurry because 1 if I have free time i'm usually in the air on my PPG and 2 I want to let DJI work out all the bugs before I drop $1600.00 on one
    I love the new joystick controller and hope you use it in this series . Tell Eric I said hey.

    It's being spun as a "beginners" toy with all of the easy to use features, throttle management, mixing etc but can we just take a step back for a moment?
    It wasn't that long ago that the future of our hobby was unclear, new rules, new legislations and now here we have a drone that can half-ish kinda freestyle and do cinemephotography in one unit with DJI"s intuitive nature? Essentially meaning anyone can go out, buy one and put it in the air with no regard for safety, the rules, the laws, etc.
    I'm not saying people who build their own drones or even people who buy BNF's are not doing this but if you've spent the time researching how to build a drone, you're normally aware of the rules?

    ... And crash and ruin it, in the first flight! If I'm gonna buy something, even for a mere $200 - 300 bucks, I want some piece of mind that if and when I crash it, it has a reasonable chance of surviving!
    The DJI FPV drone, being plastic, gives me little to no confidence that when I crash it, and even after 4 years of flying FPV - Who am I kidding? I know I'm gonna crash it! lol - I need to know I've got at least a little chance of it not breaking into several pieces and costing me hundreds of dollars to fix it... mostly because I have to send it to DJI to get it fixed. We know ahead of time that's not gonna be cheap! Versus me repairing it myself, like current FPV Drones can be self fixed.
    This product seems like buying a very delicate glass ornament, setting it on a shelf way up towards the ceiling, and you own 6 cats and 6 dogs! You know it's gonna break and be ruined, it's just a matter of time!
    Nope, I think people are a little craZy to buy this DJI FPV drone! At its huge price tag, and $150 a piece batteries, it's simply too fragile!
    People do some research!
    You can buy a superb, pre-tuned to perfection BNF FPV carbon fiber drone for 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the DJI mega gadget! It will last you through some extremely violent crashes and come out with barely a scratch. I know, I've had dozens of those head on a full speed crashes right into the center of a tree, wall, metal light pole, etc. and it's survived. It will also fly way, WAY better too! Additionally, you have your choice of many many drones, and many different transmitters, and can get the same image quality for your FPV video feed, as the DJI FPV drone has.
    No way I'd buy that gadget, even if you have me the $$$! 💵💵💵😩

      I am going to make a series of educated guesses about you Ian. You have never flown a real fpv drone. You have never touched a soldering iron. Listen to your logic here: You seem to think about FPV that it requires repair/building/physics skills; you allege of me that I've flown FPV before and yet don't know how to solder. How does that sound?
      Until placing my order for the FPV unit from DJI I had never touched an FPV quad but had wanted to for years. The time and cost of doing so was EXTREMELY prohibitive. In mid-march after buying the FPV quad from DJI (it took about 9 or 10 days to arrive) I have flown every single day for as long as my 3 batteries will allow. I have never touched a soldering iron as you say, and now there is no longer any purpose to. Glad you got some hands-on training in physics and that it was fun; the folks who built the very first computers and cars and TVs were great at that stuff as well. But as anybody knows you can rack up more hours on an all-in-one system than you ever could as an amateur on handbuild quads and denying that is tantamount to lunacy.
      I would refer you to ANY of the major FPV channels out there if you want a reminder of the costs they incur, document, and share with the world. DJI is more cost effective in terms of time and money and I know that because I've flown for nearly 2 weeks without a single crash and am flying better than most of the so-called experts. That tells you that the engineering component of the FPV hobby, while impressive, takes away from the actual time spent flying. This is pretty obvious dude.
