My 7th grader comes home and try to explain me this method of multiplication. i have never been able to understand what is he doing and how he does it until i saw this video. now it make sense... i was never taught this in 70's at my school. i guess you're always learning in life..... good video, well explained... thank you 68/72 is the part where i completely lost this method....... what is the logic behind 68/72..... shaded is 68 but why 72..?, why not 68/276
Yea that was helpful except the part where you said 64/72. 72 was just one of those boxes. Don't you have to multiply 72×3 getting you a denominator of 216. So the answer before reduction should have been 64/216.
