Omg! this is perfect! I really like how you contextualized this method, by referring to the area models as buildings. I used this method in my fifth grade practicum lesson to teach division of fractions. It worked wonders with the kids. They really enjoyed the activity of being Bob the builder when solving these fractions.
Ms. Motala, the class of 8C misses you truly. We appreciate the guidance and support you gave us. Thank you so much Ms.Motala and Congratulations on the baby!
Thank you so much now I know how to do it because you taught me about the "rooms" and "stories" in your building. It also helped with my homework Middle schools is so hard
this is such a stupid way to learn fraction division i can't believe my school's making me do this but thank you for explaining it 1000000000x better than my teacher ever could edit: actually this isn't even how my teacher wants me to do it they want me to count the groups of the amount of squares filled in one of the graphs that is in the other graph and then like do this thing where you leave one out and it's-
I understand how to complete it and get the right answer with the model but why does it work? Why does the model on the left show numerator and the one on the right show denominator?
Thank you also yeah like everyone else it really help me with my homework too because I really was really having a hard time with you know doing a model so yeah
yo doing this process takes way longer what the heck if u can do a way shorter way then why would u take the longer rout when u can finish it quickly ?????and this video did not help me not to be mean.and why wouldent you edit out the kid yelling in the backround
Thank you for this video because it helped me with my homework that I didn't understand.

Thank you very much, very good and easy explaintion 🎉
Amazing. Great video.
no its not this video is confusing.this video did not help me
any suggestions on how to use this exact "buildings" idea with dividing fractions by whole numbers?
just make the whole number a fraction by making the denominator 1. So if it was 3, it would be 3/1. And then just make the buildings.
thank you for this. i love doing fractions and decimals. even though I am in my 30s now. i forgot some of this stuff. 😂
Thank you so much now I know how to do it because you taught me about the "rooms" and "stories" in your building. It also helped with my homework
Middle schools is so hard

Excellent video. I like your buildings and rooms explanation. Thank you.
How would you do 4/5 divided by 3/2? In the area model, would you have two rectangles for 3/2? Same question for 5/4 divided by 3/2 area model pls
Thank You for this video!
love this way of thinking
That's really helpful
I have a huge test tomorrow and this helped me out a lot thanks so much
When your reducing it where does the dividing two come from?
*you're
This was recommended by my county's "Homework Hotline"
you're my new best friend😂😂
how is this different from multiplying fractions using the area model?
+Rose Adelstein when you are dividing fractions you are accutually supposed to change it into a multiplication problem, we are learning this in school
Very helpful, thank you!
Aren't the "buildings" supposed to be the same size? Cuz that's fractions 4 u.
She's trying her best can you make it the same ,well can you
Really helped!
Thanks for sharing! This is helpful in explaining the 'why' to my students.
Thank you, I finally understand this now :)
Wow. That little kid was loud!
you are so smart. I can do my homework now
Much appreciation
thank you so much this helped me out a ton
THANKS!

I can hear a kid in the background XD
I don’t understand about the blocks
Thanks
Please talk to me, Not to yourself.
Thank you
on the last one you can simplify it by 2/10 to 1/5.....
U Had A Word Screw Up But I Had Word Screw Ups The Entire Day
who was the kid that yelled
What?, you have a channel?
but would’nt 4/5 divide by 2/3 equal 1 1/5
space pancake games ikr that is what I got .
I know this a very long ago comment, but it's because it's 2/3 ÷ 4/5, not 4/5 divided by 2/3.

Oh my god my teacher made it so dumb and complicated thanks
thanks so much i did not understand my homework and khan academy wasn't helping much
Little bit difficult
just saying
i do not get it
nvm
me to even
But Im louder
she said 2 HOES
the answer isn't suppose to be 1 2/10 it is 1 1/5
Oh my gawwwd it's the same thing
Yanni Roy if he knows how to reduce fractions I’m pretty sure he’ll know their the same thing he was make a stupid point
