I remember this game from when I played it as a kid. This method is so freaking OP that I still don't even know how to actually play the game. God, I'm so glad this exists.
To put it simple: Always choose 6 If it doesn't already equal a multiple because it has the echo effect Select two (in this case 3) other spheres that will ultimately end up making the multiple In the video he says to choose 4 spheres but this is unlikely that you will have those numbers. Using 3 spheres is much more easy and you should win by round 10-13 The echo effect gives you more points based on If you use the same amount of spheres you used last round. Without this method winning is mostly rng based and not feasible.
I mean, you literally always have at least 3 of the four numbers, every round. The numbers not in ( ) are ones that are always in the middle during the tournament.

I struggled for 2 hours on my own trying to beat him and I just couldn't......I beat him on my first try using your number charts! It became so easy when I followed your charts! In fact it was so easy that i reloaded my game to try to get the Treasure Hunter garment grid along with the win and it only took me 3 tries to get lucky with the item coin spawning the garment grid :) Thank you sooooo much!!! You are a godsend.... I did not want to waste my time playing this minigame to unlock a dressphere. I remember it spent like a week trying to get it in chapter 5 originally back when this game came out on PS2 like 20+ years ago. Its way easier to beat shinra in chapter 3 to get the dressphere than to win it later when the coin quota is doubled!

I hate this minigame as much as the clock puzzle, and chocobo racing, and dodging lightning. This video helped me to never do this again, got the garment grid as well. Never. Again.

I've found what worked for me (after three tries) is to just keep using the same amount of coins each and every turn, PRAYING he doesn't hit you with a core sphere with a value of 1. I used 2 coins (one inner, one outer) for each turn and managed to beat him by my tenth turn. You could even try 3 coins each turn if you're feeling risky to make the echo chain multiply faster. Luck definitely plays a part in it, as I didn't have a single core sphere with a value of 1 during any of those turns.

I hate that you can't save right after you win the third time. You have to literally do game 3 plus shinra all over again
you can save after the 2nd match in the luca locker-room. if you're on PC, the auto-save kicks in when u start VS shinra
I play on pc the ffx2 hd remake. And it autosaves when u get into a match with shinra but u need to reload before the game ends if u end up failing
I have never gotten the Lady Luck without using a GameShark until now... You should have your own statue inside the temples for this 🙌
Now if only it would stop giving me a core sphere of "1" eight times in a freaking row. The RNG is trying to kill me...
