That's true, but a lot of people also enter Islam for emotional reasons. I was born Muslim, but I've been exposed to all kinds of crazy ideas from western society. One thing that has kept me firm is seeing how, many times when I was in need and made dua, that dua was answered. People can claim "oh it was just a coincidence", but I don't believe it was a coincidence, and these things happening time and time again have greatly increased my faith in times when I had less knowledge. I think that can be considered an "emotional" reason, because I choose to believe that duas being answered are Allah's mercy and wisdom at work. This channel is great for increasing faith using knowledge and not emotions, but I'm just saying that the emotional reasons go both ways. Just something to consider.

I have no clue why he doesn't tell them about the scientifically explained facts from Quran. Allah already told us a lot of facts about the world and science is only proving it to be true. Since they keep asking for scientific evidence, he could have given them that answer!

This is the effect of Ataturk's secular society. What ironic is that under Ataturk's strict secularism, Turkey never developed, progressed and became powerful. It was only when the Islam oriented governance of Erdogan that came to power that Turkey rose to its new high world status.

Secularism is not part of Islam. In secularism, individual freedom is a priority over the welfare of the general populace. And that is totally opposite of Islamic system of governance. How could these before can't believe in ALLAH swt. When everything explain to them make sense. I think they just don't want to do the obligation as a Muslim. what they will wait for is nothing but the arrival of angels to them (to take their lives) or the arrival (torture) of your Lord or the arrival of some verses of your Lord. On the day when a verse comes from your Lord, it will no longer benefit someone's faith in himself who has not believed before that, or he (has not) tried to do good during the period of his faith. Say: "Wait by you indeed We are waiting (too)". - Surah Al-An'am verse 158

When the guy said, "I don't want to fear God. I want to love Him", I wish I can share with him what I have acquired in understanding as I went through my journey of doubts to certainty:
I too did not understand then why would God wants us to just worship Him out of fear if He's most-merciful? What I found was; when you have found Love for Him, you yourself would have this "awareness" like fear, to not upset Him by doing things He has warned not to do - just think of upsetting someone whom you dearly love and loves you as well, wouldn't you do your best to stay away from doing things that you know would upset them? :) We are not perfect, some days we may fail to do what's best, but that's why Allah is Most-Forgiving. Always remember.

There is only a single purpose of you having a Life, the only main reason for you to still be breathing is that you might follow the right path or keep on following the right path.

There isn't a Single Illogical thing, Not a single contradiction, not a Single mistake in grammar, punctuation, spelling, format, not a Single verse that could ever be changed, not even a dot sized difference from the Quran now compared to the one 1400 years ago and so on to the future. A Single Book. Never changed, same as everywhere, unchangeable, literally memorized in hundreds of thousands of people, a thing so marvelously written not any creature could ever even write a single verse of that calibre. Undoubtedly the Word of the one and Only God, the almighty, the one who has the power of everything, the one beyond time and any limits, the One that controls and gives and takes whatever he wants when he wants, the One who could've just made angels INCAPABLE of even denying anything and to praise him all the time No matter what. Yet he chose to make us humans and gave us free will in exchange for something even greater than what angels could achieve, or even worse. Because when you still love your God and follow what he tells you when you have free will that's where the actual greatness of yourself shows. Free will with Consequences. He who knows everything yet we are here. Why? Cuz knowing doesn't mean interference. Two trains on the same track coming towards eachother. You with a piece of paper far away write "these trains will collide" and then you see the trains collide. Now is someone gonna come blame you that the trains collided because YOU wrote it on the paper? Or because they were just going to collide and you had enough knowledge to just know that they will. Similarly he is the one with all the knowledge so how could you compare your thinking to his.
Find me a single thing that it true for literally any other religion in the world. Qur'an is arabic. Translation is not %100. You can read "Tefsir". Risal-'i Nur is very good Tefsir book. Give a chance. And dont forget reading Qur'an

In my life I made the journey from growing up completely irreligious and without faith (agnostic), to an atheist, then started looking into New Age stuff followed by looking into Orthodox Christianity.
As much as I have come to respect Orthodox Christianity for its emphasis on values such as humility and the importance of love and compassion, I am struggling with the Christian idea that God became man through Jesus Christ and the trinitarianism associated with it. I tried, but I do not find these ideas compelling or cohrerent.
I am at a point where I want to honestly and earnestly look into Islam.
I also have a Turkish migrational backgrounds, and my grandparents from my mothers side were devout Muslims, but sadly, they are not here anymore.
Can you recommend good ways to get started? I am a COMPLETE beginner and feel like an outsider. I have never read the Quran, don't know anything about Islam really.
I have a wide array of interests, whether it is philosophy, theology, mythology, spirituality or science. I don't like to believe in things that are not reasonably sound, that I just have to accept dogmatically. I wanna get to know Islamic philosophy & theology. How and where do I best get started as a complete beginner?

Nope, because Allah never claims the Quran is a book of science. When.we look at the so called scientific miracles, we are actually isolating the verses from their context and meaning and giving metaphorical sentences a literalist and scientific view which I and Ali Dawah believe to be a disservice to the Quran because we are trying to insert science into metaphorical sentences. So the "scientific miracles" haven't been debunked. There are verses that can be interpreted as scientific but that's not the point of the verses, the point is t describe the beauty of Allah's power.

Everything that's not according to your opinion is a lie to you, as everybody claims every belief is false except their own belief, so your opinion is not surprising.
People regardless of their religion or belief can lies. The different is, Muslim must take care if their action because there will be a judgment afterlife. What about other/non-muslim? They dont have any reason to be a honest person. They don't believe the day of judgment so doing criminals or bad things are normal.
You would make analogies that is somewhat doesn't work when you can think the other way around. Let's just say you believe it was prophets who are "the light" to make people see the world. Well, how about this, what if I say it was actually scientists who are "the light" because they discover the world as it is and really actually prove it? You can make many analogies just to fit what you already believe, but actually your analogy just doesn't work.
