  • This gripping documentary, from producer Greg Grainger, features all of the many diverse creatures that roam much of Africa, from the big cats, elephants and giraffes, through to highly endangered species such as the black rhinoceros and wild dog. The programme shows how their daily ritual is aimed at just one result....survival, but how the very survival of entire species is increasingly in danger.

    Wildest Africa.. could also read Richest Africa. Rich in both diversity and natural resources. Let's be sure to keep it that way as a human species. We do not need to pillage everything and every continent.

    this is a professionally produced and narrated program i commend i gave them a like and subscribe for the quality even the sound effects the drums is good
    the volume is properly set so it is not to loud or to low this comment is meant to serve as an example to other wannabe youtubers that the quality of your product
    will take you further then clickbait and other sneaky dirty tricks i always honor the good and condemn the bad where i see it

    This is the best type of wildlife documentary when it's only about animals and not about the humans filming the animals or the sensationalism of such humans. The commentaries are not affected but neutral, there is no voice acting and no search of emotions. The viewer is allowed to watch the film peacefully without being force fed a particular subjective emotional baggage. Wildlife journalism should be transparent and not a self interested act. Rare and precious.

      I'm seeing my comment 3 years later. Thanks Swnsasy for pointing out tagging and the use of anesthetic darts to take blood samples from wild animals. People who do this are self-serving and trying to advance their academic careers by producing useless data under false pretense of wildlife preservation. The true goal is to use darting to handle sedated big predators on film backed by a false story to sell as sensational film sold to make their living. This is unethical. They are not true friends of nature.
      I have another comment to make, too much emphasis is put on lions in these documentaries. Lions are not endangered but giraffes are. Here they are interested in a giraffe kill by lions. Unfortunately lions have none of the superstitious chinese medecine attribute to make them targets of poachers.

    Very good documentary. Though after watching these documentaries for 50 years I am always amazed, how lion gets so much detailed attention. Have nothing against lions, but this happens all the time. For instance, social life of giraffe is much more complicated than most viewers know, also the communication between giraffes. But giraffe is every time showed just eating and being hunted by lions.
    Does this happen, because people can easily relate to lions and monkeys? Herbivores are seen just as meat, as if they have no social life or bond with their offspring. This makes me sad, especially because hardly anyone seems to acknowledge that such extraordinary animal as giraffe is in serious trouble - the number of every subspecies has been going dramatically down.

I could picture Sylvester Stallone narrating wildlife and ecological themes. or John Madden from back in the day! wow, get some hockey commentator or an auctioneer to narrate documentaries and you could pack 5x the facts into one of these. but alas, dry and sparse interjections from some disconnected English type and or of some associated commonwealth-esque nation. I don't really miss crocodile dundee, but Steve Irwin and Cristopher Hitchens were an incalculable loss. I do like Jane Goodall though and David Attenborough is a monolith. Greg Grainger, instead of bemoaning the loss of space in Africa for major species, why not encourage Europeans to give up some of their cities in Europe and let animals of major species roam in them? Africans have shown the way, now its time for Europe to pick up the slack. And don't say it is too cold in Europe, you made it warmer with global warming plus when you look at places like Finland which have somewhat large numbers of deer existing there. So how about turning Paris and London and Berlin into wilderness for the animals?

    • @davidmellish3295
      @davidmellish3295 3 роки тому +1

      Because they don't have vast herds of different animals living wild in Europe but they do in Africa. These animals are from Africa ,that is their home,why should they be made to relocate to Europe with different climates and terrain, what are the lions going hunting in the cities ? Humans took their home in Africa so it's right that they get their homeland back in Africa, most of these animals couldn't survive in Europe they are made for Africa

    The female lion "acting l as though she's not interested"? What? Is this guy claiming to know the mind of the lioness? I am just being funny here, but there is still something creepy about hearing a posh white Englishman say those words in that order. To me these poor female animals aren't acting, as their only way of communicating is through their actions (as their biological state of being in heat is not a conscious choice) so I can assume, as the lioness is violently trying to get away that she is at the very least not happy about what's happening to her! It's like No doesn't mean no to this narrator, in the animal kingdom😉!
