This is live singing. Sohyang specifically commented about her concern over singing through the mask but found the mask not to be a significant factor. If you look carefully, you can see some soft fabric over the mouth position of the mask. This was her 4th time singing in this program. It was such a joy ride watching her performances every other week in 2017 when this program was broadcast. She sang pop, ballad, rock, even rap during this wonderful stretch on the show. She had thought of quitting singing prior to joining the show due to her recurring bouts of pneumonia and overall declining health. She ultimately received inspiration from a quote she saw while traveling abroad, I forgot what it was. But from the quote, she decided to stick to her singing career and upon joining the Masked Singer show, her goal was to just sing and not care about being perfect, it's funny because health wise, she was at her lowest, but the quality of the performances she gave on the show was definitely one of the best if not the best. From there onwards, you can see Sohyang care less about being perfect on stage, and focus more on singing the best she can no matter what is going on behind the scenes vocally. I am so proud of her! Edit: On the show during her mask reveal, she said she felt so weak and had to resort to eating meat although being vegetarian. And if you can find fancams of her masked singer performances, you can hear raspiness and hoarseness in her voice at some points, but Sohyang being Sohyang she cannot be ordinary despite being sick and weak to the core.
FINALLY another reaction to Do You Know... its been over a year since I saw someone on UA-cam react to this. This in my opinion certainly is her best performance she's ever done. So captivating, raw, powerful, heartfelt... never heard anything composed this way and executed so well. Just like her other Masked Singer performances.
@@TeacherPaulReacts If you saw the mask it would make sense. There is a very thin layer of mesh covering the mouth area in all the masks the singers put on. It's practically see through and very very thin. For Sohyang's mask, the pink smiling mouth is all very thin pink mesh like material. Im some videos you can actually see her through it in some close up shots.

Her diction and pronunciation are Alway clear and perfect! SoHyang says the only thing about the competition Shows like this ,are that they want you to talk about your Performance, or pressure etc.SoHyang rehearses a lot,she use to sing every song she Performed 100 times but now she probably does have of that and concentrates more on Emotion and stag presence and a little less on perfection, she doesn’t drink alcohol,smoke and hardly talks at all on day of a Performance! Also she has a drink of fresh berries and ice blended to a snow like consistency ( no sugar and berries usually something like blueberries) Does her core muscle exercises regularly! She trains like an athlete! The judge recognize voices from week to week but in her case most had never heard of her or knew little about her! One young good looking judge usually on left bottom of we’re judges sit knows her from school or college but didn’t figure out who she was till reveal! She did most of her singing overseas or in Church’s so if they were not regular Church goers ( to churches she sang in Korea, mostly her home city, they never heard her). Even at the time of this 2017, she not well known in most circles unless you had seen her on the few Competition shows, her acting debut in acting( The Sound Of Music) or the occasional airplay, Utube ! She had by this time Performed in most Churches or religious gatherings in almost 60 countries but little known for many at home!
The defeated singer in the 1st round has to take the mask off in the middle of singing the song prepared for the 2nd round. All the contenders have to sing live right in front of the audience there. Why not live?
