    My face was full of tears when I watched the last part of this video. It's inspiring to hear how much sacrifice Dr. Khan made and how he told himself to not give up during the hardest time. Being an oral maxillofacial surgeon is always my dream since I was a second-year students in my BDS training and hope I could make it several years later. I am going to save this video forever!!!! super excellent video!!!!!! Thank you so much, Purpose Driven Dentistry for making this amazing video!!!!!

      @@AdrielWilliam Dear Dr. Adriel William, is it possible to have a video introducing the financial management after finishing dental school? I’ve noticed Dr. Khan went to internship and residency program directly after he graduated from his advanced DMD program in BU. I am planning to apply for advanced DMD program as well but also have a lot of finance concerns. Is it possible to work for several years and then apply for internship?

    Assalamuwaliqum sir, if the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency after compleating advanced standing dds program still possible now a days ? If in the 4 year residency program you can get salary? After completing bds than dds in usa can you apply for 6 year residency program with MD?

      1. You have to be green card holder to apply for omfs post grad residency in U.S .
      2. In OMFS you do get a stipend/pay just enough to pay for your rent/food

    If I am not wrong I think after DDS/DDM in US you have to acquire MD and after that you do residency in Maxillofacial surgery.

      There are two type of OMfS residencies in U.S.
      1. Four year program
      2. Six year program where you have to do two years of MD

      2 years of MD means ? Without DDS we can do residency program if we want to settle there ?

      @AdrielWilliam  Рік тому

      @@ankitakar8953 there are omfs residency which make you do 2 years of MD to be a certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and there are also some residency which are just 4 yrs training.

      So is the 6 years degree from US valid in Australia if we have passed the ADC exams beforehand. Like I'm trying to ask if I have cleared ORE or ADC, and then I have done my specialization training in US in oral and maxillofacial surgery, can I work as a specialist in UK or Australia

    • @faiqbhat3512
      @faiqbhat3512 Рік тому

      @@ankitakar8953 If i am not wrong then if you acquire an omfs + Md from usa then at least in Australia you can get the license but it has to be under medicine and having general dentistry license in Australia has no effect what so ever on you acquiring OMFS MD from USA as this speciality is most probably under medicine flag in Australia.
      Saying all that i just have a rough idea about it and if i were you i would research a-lot.

      I think that is a question you should ask an oral surgeon in person. If you ask my opinion, I have talked to couple of 4th year OMFS resident who were graduating, the contract they were signing as a Oral Surgeon, most of them gave me a number of 250k up 300k in the year of 2022 (which is not amazingly high, now adays even GPs are making above that) and this varies with location to location. But some of the recruiters mentioned to me that they make much higher when they work with Coporates but that means you spend most of your days just doing implants and third molars. My suggestion is if you are pursuing oral surgery in U.S for financial gain, trust it won't incentize you. The amount of hours and work you put in extremely harsh- like spending 120hr/ week is alot and consider 4 to 6yrs of training. Go in it if you really love your work. And if you really want to make wealth in U.S, invest in profitable places early on in your life. Jobs would never make you rich, timely and well thought investments/assests will.
      Hope this helps.
