    That "secret potion" sure looks like a bottle of CLR 🙂. Erik Cortina(F-class shooter) uses that to de-carbonize his barrels

    Trim come-along to just a smidge under the width of discharge chute, change 2 x 4 discharge chute boards to 2 x 6. Less spillage and come-along will pull more brass per stroke all the way through to the bucket. Neat set up.

    There has to be media stuck inside the brass and in the flash holes

    You would save a ton of time if you would raise the tumbler up and slope the board below it. Gets it closer to free automation by using gravity to your advantage.

    I think I would cover the wood with spray on bed liner to keep the wood from rotting. Great idea though.

    Are you able to load that immediately or do you have to wait to let the primer pockets dry? Also, do you recap all of this beforehand or do you leave the primers in?

    What media were you using to polish your brass there? I thought regular sand was too abrasive and would damage brass casings.

    Put a vibrator on the bottom of your separator and you wouldn't need to shovel media nor dent brass as you are cleaning it out.

    About how many pieces of brass are in a 5 gallon bucket? Just a rough guess?

    • @mk84ldb
      @mk84ldb 5 років тому

      Easy way to find out, weigh empty bucket to get weight. Weigh out enough brass to get 1 lb, zero bucket weight on scale and fill bucket, simple math after that. Did that with 30.06 and was darn close to actual count.

      16:50 Guy in video said "That is how you clean approx. 7500-8000 .223 cases at once." They all fit in two less-than-full buckets. So I'm guessing one bucket full to within an inch of the top contains 3,500-4,000 .223 cases.

    • @brianaltmann613
      @brianaltmann613 4 роки тому

      1 5 gallon bucket filled just below the rim is anywhere from 50-60 pounds of .223 which could give you an idea.
