Big thanks to Exquisite Timepieces in Naples, FL for loaning in an Oris Divers Sixty-Five. This dive watch is inspired by vintage designs with the benefit of modern manufacturing technology. The Oris Divers Sixty-Five is a new channel favorite and a model I'd most definitely recommend if it can be found for the right price.

Thanks for watching!
I have this watch with the black rubber factory strap. I get more compliments on this watch than any other watch I've owned. I bought mine at Jomashop new for less than $1,100 about 8 months ago. I LOVE IT! Mine in particular is accurate to within a few seconds a week which I just can't believe. I will keep this watch for life.
$1100 sounds like a pretty good price for a new watch. Enjoy it and thanks for watching.
Most of us never go deeper than MAYBE 50 metres when we go diving. And that's pushing the limits of recreational diving. I've been a diver since 1969, and that's the way it is.
When do you dive, do you wear a dive watch? Most people I talk to don't bother. They use multiple dive computers.
I still think that doing at least 15atm water resistance wouldn’t be that hard at all.
Love your watch reviews. Practical and to the point. And we share the same wrist sizes so makes it even more relevant for me.
Thanks Vinit appreciate that.
Just love love the 65 own both iterations and they are among my favourite pieces , bagged the two for just over 1000 dollars a piece on holiday sales , they are undoubtedly keepers and I don’t often say that ... Always top class contact Guy, thanks!
Where from?
Love mine and I have the black/blue dial with a matching Nato strap. Super comfortable watch and completely agree with your review!
Thanks for watching Ed. Enjoy that Oris.
Great review; love the detail, depth and passion you bring to your vids mate. Please keep it up.
Excellent looking vintage inspired diver. Near perfect size. It’s hard to find a fault. A no-date would be ideal. Maybe 200m water resistance also.
Otherwise 10/10.
Thanks Taylor, I appreciate the kind words. I think there is a limited edition exclusive version from Topper Jewelers actually. Contact them if you are interested.
Excellent review, thanks. I love these watches I think Oris got it spot on, the integration of the date window at six works really well.
I'd have a hard time choosing which one I'd want...I'm liking the 42mm version in green at the moment.
That version has the circle markers on the dial or is it the same dial layout?
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Yes the circle markers. I also really like the new models with bronze detailing, very classily done in my opinion.
The blue!! It's unreal in person... The blue is dark😍🍻
Great review as usual. Mine runs at +3 s/day. The bracelet is super comfort. My Aquis (previous version, blue sunray dial, 43mm) runs at +6 s/day.
That's great accuracy. Enjoy your Oris and thanks for watching.
I have an Oris Aquis and I love it. My friend recently picked up the Diver's Sixty - Five and he's very happy with his buying decision. I believe he got a 30% discount. Overall, I think it is a very nice looking watch and I am quick to recommend Oris.
At 30% off he did pretty well, it's a cool watch - as is the Aquis.
I would go with aquis as well, Oris rocks in this segment (I LOVE date at 6 o'clock). But still the price, Sinn 104 is a big competitor...
@@ernestkrajnc6412, I also have a Sinn and a Damasko. Both are phenomenal time pieces. German manufacturers are clearly making their mark on the industry.
Good review as always really like the watch . Nice to know there are different levels of a movement from the maker
.
Thanks for watching.
Perfect timing Guy! I am currently thinking of buying this watch and really enjoyed your review! Thanks
Thanks Robert. Hope you enjoy the watch if you decide to get it.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews thanks bro
Great review! Very detailed. I've been looking at the 42mm in blue and I believe I'll be picking it up soon. Thank!
Thanks for watching Charlie and good luck with the 42!
Great review Guy, i have this one for a few years. Really like it, the perfect retro diver and wears so slim on the wrist. I must have got lucky with the bezel, its perfect!lol
Good to hear that your bezel is tight. I didn't know if it was a common thing or not.
Great review. I am seriously considering this watch. The bracelet would have been great to review as it seems to be the only one in my research that has the 20-14 taper w 16 clasp - it feels like a 70s oyster. By all accounts they are very comfortable.
Yeah the AD I borrowed the watch from didn't have a bracelet model unfortunately.
I love oris watches
Thanks for watching.
Fact about the mouvement : I own a Diver 65 for two weeks now. I bought it for the design more than accuracy but I have been quite surprise to see that it is very precise : mine is less than 3 seconds late after 10 days! I have a cosc chronograph with an ETA mouvement that is less precise than this...
Great detailed review as always. From what i read in Christopher Ward forums, Sellita actually have option to opt up to incabloc shock absorber for their elobore models. My Christopher Ward Trident C60 have this configuration too.
Also your info about those 1% that actually go diving mostly won’t go 100 m deep. That is true but 10atm watch can’t go 100 m deep. 10 atm (or 100 m as labelled) is just the atmospheric pressure which most watch brands suggest as being only adequate for surface swimming. 10 atm won’t be able to dive to most kind of depth with the movement of hands causing much higher pressure on the gasket than being still. 10 atm = pressure of being static at 100 m deep (with 0 movement or dynamic pressure)
Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
I love this model so much I bought all of the colorways 😊😊
Very nice!
Nice review. It’s a really good watch. Very unique design and a really good modern interpretation of the vintage model it’s based on. I have the rubber strap version but it looks great on vintage leather, bond NATO’s and tropic straps. As for the water resistance, who cares. 100m is fine (especially if the closest it gets to water is washing the dishes).
Thanks for watching Bugster I appreciate it.
Screw down... fine for swimming in the surf or snorkling.
This was my first nice watch. Still have it! Went diving with it a few times without issues. Only issue I have is I personally do find the crown to be sharp on the edges and I do find that it digs into my wrist pretty bad if not worn snugly above the wrist bone. I actually bevelled mine ever so slightly on the outside for that reason and it's much better now.
Late reply here, but a tip for anything nylon where there are bits of stuck out stitching or anything that feels a little scratchy. Take a cigarette lighter and wave the flame across the offending area a couple of times and then rub it with your fingers. Don't expose it to the flame too long, you don't want to burn it, and watch out when rubbing it as it can be pretty hot if you've held the flame on too long. It might take a few tries to get it right at first and you can repeat this anytime you get a loose bit of stitching or whatever. I do this to clean up the my NATOs, and any nylon pouches or sheaths for my knives and multi-tools. This works better with better quality nylon, the cheap stuff tends to stay scratchy and burns much easier.
Pretty good review
So hope that in future you can review the oris atelier translucent skeleton
If you got the chance
I’ll see what I can do. Thanks for watching.
Great review, its a good entrance watch, like Longines/Baume & mercier/ etc. often they come at a good price, so...why not. its a great oldschool look.
I need to get my hands on a Longines I still haven't really had a chance to check any of them out.
Heres one, that will be in the same segment (oldschool looking divers..) as the Oris, and thats the Longines Legend diver. their whole line, offers some great watches, from an era, that has past us, BUT...still makes me think 007 times, Monaco and the casino, or racing on the circuits around the world (Longines heritage 1973, Longines Heritage divers, Longines Heritage 1935, these are just some options, i favor from the brand.), sorry, was just nostalgic for a sec there:-)
Good review Guy. I find that when on a strap, a watch will usually look smaller than when on a bracelet.
Sleek and retro sport diver. Very cool.
Have this watch with the blue/black dial, came on a black/blue striped 'seatbelt' cloth w/deployant - now on a Benetto Cinturini rubber/deployant. Less than $850. It's keeping something like +2s/day. 'Something like' means I don't let it gain or lose time - mostly stored dial up, once it gains 5s I store it crown up, once that loses 5s, repeat.
Had the Aquis 43mm blue/blue before - same accuracy, same quality, and a lot heavier. Sold 1 day after getting my Breitling Avenger II (which is def. nicer).
Great accuracy. I love it.
The Oris Divers Sixty-Five and all of the iterations such as the new Divers Date are extremely light, and extraordinarily comfortable.
I own this exact watch with both the drab strap, and a tropic rubber strap and find the drab textile strap looks better in person than in print or video.
As far as accuracy goes, mine runs about +2 seconds per day.
When it comes to power reserve, sadly I don’t believe mine comes close to its specified 38 hour reserve.
I truly enjoy my ‘65 Heritage.
Really like that watch. I've been on the fence trying to decide between the Oris and a Zodiac Super Sea Wolf 53 Skin. I just can't seem to decide which I like best because they're both super cool retro divers !! Great video as always.
If cost is an issue you could try Proxima’s sea wolf homage.
I just got the dark green face! I love it it’s beautiful.
hello Guy,
very detailed review thanks for it. helps me to decide . I am looking to buy a diver watch and after some research I have on the short list this Diver 65 from Oris and the Hydroconquest from Longines ( 39 mm, blue dial) both with stainless steel bracelet. I saw both of them " in metal" couple of weeks ago and I tend to agree with you. The Oris is a good and nice watch but it just cannot justify the price difference ( by the way, that strap in your video is an embarrassment for a 1800 dollars watch). the Oris price on steel is 2050 sfr and the Hydroconquest only 1150 francs ... quite steep... the Longines has a 60 hours power reserve, applied markers, a nicer case back and 300 m WR ( yes, I don't need it but it justifies a slice of the price); what bothers me is the date window - Oris got it way better.
I think I know what to do ... :-) thanks again!
I haven’t seen a Hydroconquest yet, but they look like a cool watch.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews : I guess they are overlooked by the watch fans due to the cheesy image of Longines; but it's a quality build piece with nice finishing and a decent caliber inside; not much to complain for the price; worth to give it a try if you can get your hands on one. take care
Great review, I bought one of these a while back and you are right- sleek and sexy are the right terms and it does feel smaller on wrist almost like a dress watch. I got mine on a bracelet which I recommend if you don't mind an extreme taper. Now I've got to go check if my bezel is as crap as the one you've got there lol
Ya I’d go bracelet as well you made a good choice there.
@@JustBlueFish thankfully my bezel is 1000% better, very little play, you had me a little nervous
Great review! On a symmetry standpoint, I wish they didn't add a date. Even though, I find the black bezel sides to be ascetically pleasing, I'm concerned scratches will show more than a chrome side. Also, I wonder if the dial would have been more pleasing if it was a matte black. Thanks, Mike K
I was talking to someone that pointed out a limited edition exclusive version available from Topper Jewelers that is no-date.
I like Oris; they make an honest watch for an honest price (if you shop around). They don’t ponce about with “in-house”, they just make great watches with great movements. The problem Oris has is spelled Sinn who let the movements be but spend the money on the cases, materials and tech. And usually have a much lower MSRP.
Granted, Germany is not Switzerland. But for me it’s not that great of a difference.
I haven’t had the opportunity to check out a Sinn watch. I’d like to review a 556 one day.
X V See, I just don’t agree - see the MOP dials and the Frankfurt Finanzplatz-watches. I see them filling exactly the same niches, one at a lower price.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Just sold mine. Great watch for the price, decent for MSRP +20% if I’m honest. A bit generic though.
Very comprehensive review that you've done I enjoyed it so much so I think I'll have to dig one up and try it on my wrist myself that this looks like a good alternative to a Rolex
Thanks for watching robert, I'd recommend going and looking at one in person at a minimum.
This is a nice entry level “real watch” no doubt. It is not in the same universe as a Rolex though.
Maybe but then again all Rolex was originally was the tool watch they marketed well they control the market well they do make all their own product but I don't know about that they're in a different Universe I mean this is not a two-million-dollar Patek Philippe
And neither is Rolex
Wonderful review as always Guy. We're all fortunate that you access to all these interesting watches of late. I consider my Hamilton Khaki Mechanical and Khaki King to have in-house ETA movements as they are all part of the Swatch Group, or is that stretching it a bit?
Thanks Greg, appreciate that. Is an ETA an in-house movement for swatch brand watches? I never really thought about it. I guess in a manner of speaking perhaps it is - even if it is a little bit of a stretch.
At first I hated this watch when it came out with those Arabic numerals, with this strap I must admit two yeas later i have come to really like it.
It is just so iconic and cool!
thanks nice watch around £1400 here in uk but is it worth the money think i like the Oris pro Diver better...
Oris has several nice models, can’t go wrong with most of the ones I’ve seen.
thanks
What at lovely watch
Agreed
I had this exact same watch and strap, and the bracelet. Loved it, but sold it for the upcoming bronze bezel 40mm with applied indices. Guy, can you PLEASE review the 39.5mm aquis I think that one you would like and for some reason not much online reviews
I'll see if the AD has that Aquis. Thanks Billeh.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews any update on this 39.5mm aquis Guy?
Always a pleasure knowing u have a new video
Thanks buddy.
Loved the divers 65 when i had it ! Great watch for the money though as you said I wouldn't pay retail do your research and get it cheaper
Yeah the price is a bit high but there are deals to be had, and I'd recommend it if you can get a good price. Why did you decide to sell yours?
I never sold it it was on loan from my buddy Sam for me to review wish i had one
Ah gotcha.
Great review as always. I absolutely love this watch. I tried it on at an AD and agree it wears smaller. The AD was willing to discount. I ultimately passed and just purchased the Yema Superman Heritage watch.
No discount? Yeah I'd probably walk away too you can definitely pick them up cheaper than full retail price.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews He was willing to discounts actually about 40% but I passed. Glad I did because I can’t wait to receive the Yema Superman Vintage.
Oh sorry I miss read your original message. doh!
Good review. Recently I was in a Oris AD and looked at the aquis but ran out of time so didn’t look at this model. Not sure if aesthetically its for me. Lean towards the Aquis more.
Can't go wrong with an Aquis. I was impressed with that watch as well when I reviewed it.
I love it, Guy. But that price point has to come down significantly for me to consider buying it. Nice retro 60s vibe.
Yeah the price is high but I think there are deals to be had on them.
Bro better oris divers 65 or mido tribute?
What the heck is going on with Oris reference numbers? Do they use a super strong password generator to make them? :)
HA! Now you have me wondering.
Great watch & review!!
Can you tell me what strap is on this watch? Looks pretty cool👍
It's the stock strap that the watch came on from Oris.
Looks like it may function well as a field watch. How does it compare to the Hamilton Khaki? Sellita, BTW, use to manufacture movements for ETA. They are solid, reliable, movement designs. One more thing, check out Ball watches. Well made, heavy and chunky, uses ETA movements. Take care.
Thanks for watching Bill. I need to review a Ball watch at some point here. They are interesting.
Hey Guy, could you do a review on the hamilton khaki?
Which one I’ve done a few of them in the past.
Hey Guy, thanks i just saw the review.
What's up, Guy, I'm UA-cam!
Ve been looking for you for years!
I've been scouring the internet for one of these and can't find a used mint one for under $1000US...so either the demand has shot way up, or I'm missing something. I currently have one I'm considering to pull the plug on from Japan...not mint, but close enough...5 years old...$1080US.
I think 2nd hand prices went up after it was discontinued
The bezel on mine (version with the steel bracelet) has absolutely no backplay
I do not dive. I would use a Diver for:- GMT - Count down timer - Elapse time and if there is not date, as a date tracker, so plenty of functions for a watch without complications :-) and yes, all those are faster in the watch than with a Cellphone, believe it or not.
Someone mentioned they use their chronograph as a date counter. Lots of creative ways to use different complications.
My Oris Chronoris Date (same movement) runs about 3-4 seconds per day fast. Surely, this is anecdotal
I haven’t seen The Chronoris
I hope you get to review it some time, it's 🔥🔥🔥
👍❤️Oris❤️ I Only buy Rolex and Oris watches👍🇸🇪
If you're going to stick to just 2 brands you can't go wrong with those 2.
A two thousand dollar watch with an eta clone needs to be Bullet proof in construction. Other manufacturers have better specs. for a lot less money, but l love that dial.
Yeah I do love the dial and the overall design as well.
I sold a watch once and the dude told me his name was Guy from Deland FL.
I just got one from my coworker $100. It needs service. But I can say it’s a beautiful watch.
We need drilled lugs..Only criticism. Besides that, Beautiful watch..👍
Really like the dial design. I would probably never go deeper than snorkeling depth so I don't really care about 100m thing :)
Yeah I am a fan of this dial.
Great video, is it me but if we as watch enthusiasts notice these down falls in the watch then surely Oris know as well so why do they still go ahead and manufacture the watch, they hit a home run in the design then let the watch down by poor lume bad play in the bezel and apparently crown stem play in several other watch reviews (I just don't get it) and for them reasons I won't be buying the watch which is a great shame because it's such a nice peice.
Good question, I'm sure they are aware of those issues. It would have to be a matter of manufacturing cost vs. reaching a certain market price. Could they solve those problems? Probably. Would the watch cost more? I'm guessing yes.
Yes you're probably right, however there is watches out there which are the same price or cheaper that don't have these issues,a skx 007 comes to mind lume that last all night and a better bezel action for far less.when ever a watch is sold on a non steel bracelet and uses a standard movement I have to ask myself where is the money going in the watch ??
I usually like this kind of thing but visually this watch does nothing for me. Also for a throwback watch I think 39-40mm would have been the way to go. The Movember edition is really the way to go IMO if you want a kick-ass throwback Oris diver.
I haven't seen that one, I'll have to look it up.
Another excellent review - many thanks Guy! Tim Mosso on WatchBox Reviews looked at the same watch (almost) and he actually felt the bezel was “among the best” (ua-cam.com/video/89tlSQIzKM0/v-deo.html). In fact, he compared its performance to that of the Rolex Submariner/Sea-Dweller. Is it possible that the particular piece you reviewed had a subpar bezel? Interested to get your thoughts! Thanks again!
Could be a QC issue, this is the only example I have had a chance to look at.
People saying it's not a real dive watch cause uts only 100m hahahaha ok do they even know how much training they need to dive to 100m? 100m is not a jump in and look I can do depth.
This watch wears small and I feel that it is under engineered. I would pick the Aquis every time. Also, I don't like the 3, 6, 9, 12 markings on the dial.
You can't go wrong with the Aquis. Thanks for watching Eddie.
Hey I'm first to comment? Nice :)
Is this your first time being first?
Good review, but horrid watch. Very cheap looking, like watches I broke as a kid in the 1970's (yes, I know!!) Looks really fragile, and certainly wouldn't get a second look from the general public, who would struggle to believe the asking price. However, I do think its one of the best date displays I've seen, it actually looks like it was properly designed & integrated unlike the vast majority of divers where the date window looks like an afterthought. I love retro divers, but this just looks flimsy & cheap to me. Cheers, keep up the quality reviews 👍👍
Thanks for watching inkitatus1, I appreciate it.
😂😂😂
In blue, my holy grail watch!😍
It’s a wonderful watch. I’ve worn it for years and often get compliments.
