Had a chance to try this on at my local AD and had an instant connection to this piece. Wasn’t a fan of the denim bracelet but the leather underlining was a nice touch. I hope to add this to my collection.
In general I love the Oris 65. It's at the same time a very refined and very relaxed timepiece, and this variant is no exception. And fully agree with what you said about the bronze bezel. If I owned this model I would put aside the denim strap and wear it on a nice vintage style brown leather strap with cross stitching.
There are three really nice green dial “affordables”, this, the Rado Captain Cook and the surprisingly cool new Longines Hydroquest (green dial / green rubber).
I know right. I just picked up the Captain Cook in bronze with the green dial. But it to comes on a a leather strap. Both the denim strap and leather have no place on a diver. Even though I don't consider the ORIS here a diver any more than two of my Breitlings rated at 100 meters. Longines has it right putting theirs on a rubber strap. But this is a nice watch and the strap is way more unique than the cheapish leather one on my Captain Cook.
Great video!! I don’t know about you but Oris do the vintage look so well! Sooo well in fact I’d be scared to pull the crown or scratch the Crystal !!!! Is it just me?!?! Great video!!!
Oris needs some love. You can get them for around 1000 for several models around 1000.00 on the used market if you are patient. I also am not a fan of bronze watches. This one looked nicer. You can also find sales. 1000 to 2000 is most of their range.
@@JustBlueFish I appreciate your honest reviews and being transparent about it. There are some watch channels I unsubscribed to who got free watches or well discounted and praising it and you can clearly see there are issues. Caving in to the watch companies I should say or be bought. Oris has been around for over 100 years. Right now where I live we have not even started phase one of re-opening and all malls have been closed since early March and we have the most cases of this awful C virus, some parts of the state by the county have a few hundred while in my county we have nearly 40,000 and rising still. My guess is being 1.5 hours to three national airports and lots of people from other countries living here. Mail order is the only way to get anything except essentials.
Although Oris does make great watches I feel they are overpriced compared to other comparable watches such as the Christopher Ward C65 diver and I believe that the fit and finish of the CW at the pricepoint is second to none. I really do like Oris and I like the fact that they offer the Diver 65 in a 36mm variant which I prefer. The one thing I didn't like with the CW C65 was at 41mm it wears larger due to a rather small bezel and large dial area. Thanks again Guy for another excellent review.
@@JustBlueFish Exuisite time pieces, it feels like they are making big commercial through You, Bruce and few other youtubers... A bit annoying for me, but hey, just my oppinion...
They’re my local home town AD, my friends, and great people that have gone out of their way to help me and support this community. I’ll do everything I can to help them get exposure. If it bothers you I'm sorry but I really don’t understand why. Thanks to them you get to see tons of content on my UA-cam you wouldn’t have been able to otherwise get access to.
@@JustBlueFish Don't get me wrong, I really like your chanell, your development through last few years! Great cammera work and light, shorter and more focused episodes, better and better watches etc... I just generaly don't like advertisements (aldove I understand bussines oportunities and it's o.k.). Be well and keep on with good work, sideways comments should not effect you too much!
It's a colab between the two brands. I think it would have been cool if they included an extra strap, maybe rubber - or even a bracelet to go along with the Momotaro strap.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Sorry, Guy. I didn't express my thought well. I meant that the collaboration as expressed in both Oris and Momotaro's contributions makes little design sense. Pairing a selvege style denim strap with a green dial and aged patina lume falls flat for me. Although I do think that if they were collectively trying to pay homage to the 70s color palette, they nailed it: new blue jeans blue, avocado green and beige. On second thought, maybe they knocked it out of the park! Haha. Thanks for responding. --Michael
Thanks to Exquisite Timepieces for loaning this watch for review:

I have several momotaro jeans...now I definitely need the watch matching with them :) !

Very cool piece. That dial color is awesome
I think so too!

It would be cool if this came with the denim strap and a bracelet. But like you said there’s lots of strap options out there.
Great shout, goes against why they formed the partnership but these brands know we’d change the strap in a heart beat!
I like the dial color
Ya it's quite nice.
It's probably my favorite version of Diver 65 so far. Thank you for this nice video of an attractive watch 👍
My pleasure!
Super cool dial!!
It is! Thanks for watching.

I'll check it out!
Another great video on a very nice looking watch. Maybe Oris will start to do more collaborations with other companies if this watch is successful.
That would be cool
@1:50 slight mistake. Oris was founded in 1904 not 1906
Hi JBF, I have similar watch taste with you. I have a BB36 as my main, and I'm planning to get a Oris 65 Bronze next!

my favorite version is the one with hodinkee
But the date is under the dial, they just covered it... am i right?
Looking, good Guy. It looks like you have shed a few pounds. Nice watch too. :) All the best my friend.
Thanks 👍

My Oris 65 wears better then my Tudor BB
its a nice watch i do like i just dont like the price...... cheers
Ya there is a lot of competition around $2000. A bit cheaper and it would make it an easier pickup.
I’m with you! But your paying for the brand that has almost a hundred years of watchmaking behind them I guess
Great vid as always. The text on the dial would have fit nicer in black instead of white...
Yeah maybe, I'd like to see that side by side.
You never showed the back of the watch:(
Really, really don’t like the strap, but man what a dial 👍🏻
I would put it on black racing strap 🔥
Nice watch, but mention your ID three times???
ID? What do you mean?

Leather watch band on a Divers Watch#worthless
Technically it's denim not leather.
@@JustBlueFish that makes it even worse, no divers belongs on that type of material.
@@williamstalvey6920 no different than a cloth nato strap in my mind honestly.
If its denim colored, looks like denim, I will wear the waterborne nylon band, nylon is nylon...denim belongs to wranglers and levis.
