Ramiro Garcia: In an interview with Abby Martin (old RT) they directly threatened his family so he backed off for a while. Years later he completed his book, which nobody wanted to publish but he managed to do it. He said he is still alive because if he were to have an unfortunate “accident” the book sales and the publicity for his cause would go up significantly.

People, in the meantime, we have the power to vote with our pockets. What we choose to buy makes a huge difference, avoid buying from corporations, if you have a Bank of America, Wells Fargo (Wachovia), Chase, CitiBank or any other major coroporation bank accounts, move it to a local coop bank. I know, it's not easy or possible all the time, but the small things are what make the change. If each and every one of us would do this these small actions we could turn things around a bit.

We are going to have to deal with psychopaths sooner or later. It´s us or them. A world of decency, empathy, and honour, or a world of narcissism, fear, greed, and hubris.
There is little to lose. If this battle is lost it will be a world non psychopaths do not want to be in. So get up stand up and kick their self serving parasitic arses.

Perkins, assuming events in his Confessions of an Economic Hitman are accurate, I believe deserves to stand among defenders of freedom, democracy and humanity such as Daniel Ellsberg, Ralph Nader, Carroll Quigley, Noam Chomsky, et al, who have exposed the inner workings of American corporatocracy and its insidious actions worldwide.
Confessions reads like a bad nightmare. It reminded me of John Carpenter's horror sci- film, "They Live." Except, that Confessions is not a movie...

If job security is your concern shy away from it because at the HS level you will get pushback. I am semi retired and if they fire me over this they know I will make it worse for them because they need me more than I need them. Btw, I ran the first two Zeitgeist movies in their entirety.

Robert Townsend, who was the former President and CEO of Avis and American Express, in his book, "Up The Organization," calculated that there are approximately 5,000 men and women, who control what Townsend called "the commanding heights of the US economy."
He noted that these people treat the country as "their own personal whorehouse," and that they, almost always, get exactly what they want.
Coming from someone who would obviously know, this corroboration of John's assertions, should put to bed any arguement to the contrary.
We should also note, that when overall power is concentrated, in such a tiny number of hands, those in-power, by necessity, must rule through conspiratorial means and methods.
    And, they DO!!

    Notes and Quotes:
John Perkins, former economic hitman, author of “Confessions of an Economic Hitman”
    1:15 Corporatocracy
“At the very top of the corporatocracy you really can’t tell whether a person is working for a private corporation or the government because they’re always moving back and forth. So you know, you got a guy who one moment is the president of a big construction company, like Halliburton, the next moment he’s Vice President of the United States. Or the President who is in the oil business. And this is true whether you get democrats or republicans in the office. You have the moving back and forth through the revolving door. So you know, you really can’t distinguish.
And in a way our government is invisible a lot of the time and its policies are carried out by our corporations on one level or another. And then again, the policies of the government are basically forged by the corporatocracy and then presented to the government and they become government policy. So it’s an incredibly cozy relationship and a very dangerous relationship.
That’s part of what as we move forward and as we move out of this empire and we look for solutions. How do we create a better world for our children and grandchildren? One of the most important things is to break that bond there and to make people responsible more, just creating a decent world, creating an environmentally sustainable, socially just, and peaceful world.”
    2:45 banks and corporations
    4:00 The Economic Hitmen
“We economic hitmen really have been the ones responsible for creating this first truly global empire and we work many different ways. But perhaps the most common is the way we’ll identify a country that has resources our corporations may covet like oil and then arrange a huge loan from that country from the World Bank or one of its sister organizations. But the money never actually goes to the country. Instead it goes to our big corporations to build infrastructure projects and that country: power plants, industrial parks, ports, things that benefit a few rich people in that country in addition to our corporations but really don’t help the majority of the people at all who are too poor to use electricity, or the ports, or don’t have the skills to get jobs in industrial parks.
However, those people, the whole country is left holding a huge debt. It’s such a big debt they can’t repay it. And that’s part of the plan. They can’t repay it and so at some point we economic hitmen go back and say ‘Hey listen, you owe us a lot of money, you can’t pay your debts, so sell your oil real cheap to our oil companies. Allow us to build a military base in your country, or send troops in support of ours in some place in the world like Iraq, or vote with us on the next UN vote.
And in that way we’ve really created an empire. But we’ve done it very, very subtly. It’s clandestined. So all the empires of the past were built on the military. And everybody knew they were building them. The British knew they were building them, the French, the Germans, the Romans, the Greeks. And they were proud of it and they always had some excuse like spreading ‘civilization’, spreading some religion, something like that. But they knew that they were doing it. We don’t. The majority of the people in the United States have no idea that we’re living off the benefits of a clandestine empire. That today there’s as much slavery in the world, more slavery in the world than ever before, that our shirts, our shoes, everything we own is made under the guise of this empire and there’s a tremendous amount of people around the planet suffering as a result of this. We are less than 5% of the world’s population living in the United States. We’re consuming more than 25% of this world’s resources. That’s a tragedy.”
    6:22 Jacobo Arbenz Guzman, Guatemala
    United Fruit Company
Propaganda Red Terror claim that he was communist puppet
    7:45 Jaime Roldos Aguilera, Ecuador
    Ruled by Dictators
Jaime ran for pres, use resources (oil) to help the people. First Democratically elected leader
    USA didn’t like that.
Perkins was sent down among others
He was assassinated, plane exploded. Was not bad weather, two key witnesses also killed
    11:29 Salvador Allende, Chile
ITT ( Internstional Telephone and Telegraph Co)
    CIA
Easier cause he was an avowed “socialist”
This company is a shadow of itself. They are vulnerable. We can force them to do a better job
    13:20 Omar Torrijos, Panama
John’s favorite people. John tried to bribe him
Omar wanted the USA to give the Panama Canal back
1981, May Jaime Roldos was assassinated
Omar renegotiated Panama Canal w Carter. Then he also died in a plane crash. CIA
    16:00 Manuel Noriega, Panama
    Became President. Former cia
USA thought to Reverse canal treaty. Manuel was not a puppet
Island, cocaine, drugs, sex, politicians ,corps
    Every did it
18:20 why bomb a city to take out Noriega?
Best reason Perkins heard is a building w photographs of politicians w drugs, sex etc, was destroyed. No evidence.
    20:30 Mohammad Mossadegh, Iran 1953
Pres of Econ hitmen started in early 1950s
Mossadegh wanted Iranian oil to benefit its own people.
    BP British Petroleum
On border if russia. Didn’t want to send in military like normally do
    Kermit Roosevelt overthrew
Replaced w a dictator. Easy, effective, and cheap. Established a whole new way of manipulating countries. No card carrying cia
    23:20 Hugo Chavez, Venezuela
Campaign launched to make Chavez look like a villain
    2002 CIA coup
Similar tactics like Iran, pay people to riot
Chavez, Primarily wanted oil to benefit its people, democratically elected people
(26:18) Correa of Ecuador, oil must help its people, Morales, Bolivia, profits from Bolivia’s gas must help its people, these not possible without Chavez precedent
    27:29 Saddam Hussein, Iraq
Perfect example of how System works:
Econ hitmen first line of defense. Bribe leaders , get them to accept large loans,
if they are incorruptible send in jackals, assassination.
    Both failed
(28:30) saddam once worked for CIA. Assassinated former leader
1991 first Bush sent in troops
We wanted a strong man. Would’ve sold him weapons
    Lastly, Sent in military
    30:25 Divide and Conquer
(32:20) Africa, leaders are not corrupt. They are corrupted
(32:45) Africa is canary in the mine
(34:10) corporatocracy does everything it can to prevent people from knowing
    34:25 Causality (Immigration)
“Deal with the bigger issue. That the American public really doesn’t know what we’re voting for. And we’re seeing in the presidential campaigns there’s an ignorance. There’s an avoidance of what’s really going on. We don’t really talk about the causes behind the immigration problem. We talk about the bandaids to cure it. Should we build a wall? Should we make stricter laws? Should we let these people become citizens? But the real issue is the fact that we’ve destroyed the economies in their country. And their countries through our ‘Free Trade’ agreements that have benefitted the big corporations hugely but have made everybody else suffer, the workers in the United States, the workers in Guatemala, in Mexico, and throughout Central America, and many parts of South America are suffering terribly.
Not one of them wants to be here. I speak Spanish. I live in Florida. I go out and I talk to the Guatemalans who are taking care of everybody’s lawns and doing a lot of the other menial work. They don’t want to be here. They’re not getting rich here. They’re sending all their money home. They want to be back in Guatemala, or Mexico, or Honduras, or El Salvador, wherever they’re from. These are beautiful countries. They want to be there. There’s no work there. And there’s no work there because of the laws that we’ve passed. Because of the IMF (International Monetary Fund), because of the World Bank, because of what the corporatocracy is doing to exploit these countries. So if we really want to deal with the immigration problem that’s what we must do, is help these countries get back on their feet and open their doors to their own people to have jobs there. But our presidential candidates aren’t addressing that.”
    36:00 Art of War
Higher military don’t want war, politicians and corps want war.
Big industry is successful w war
    37:25 Gorilla, Communists, Terrorists?
In Nicaragua. Different from press releases
Getting them to take on loans
Hydroelectric dams destroyed vast amounts of land. People didn’t get any electricity. Outraged
    USA propaganda called them Communists
Gorillas Took on drugs etc to find itself
    (40:25) Soviet Union
41:40 All USA presidents defended him. Clinton, Obama, McCain
    Defending oil companies
Communism is an excuse. We create these enemies to defend our oil companies
(43:15 ). Ecuador law suit, oil company dumped oil on purpose
    43:50 The Oil Standard
1971 USA in debt, gold standard. Couldn’t pay
    USA largest debtor nation
Saddam claimed to go beyond oil standard, one reason. Huge threat to USA.
    48:00 Energy and Consumption
Biofuels more acceptable because they can control it. Not like solar
(49:00) solar roofs, solar and batteries works
(49:40) huge solar stations feeds into central control
(50:40) we must cut back on everything, consumption, and population
    51:35 Reflections
We have power over these corporations
We want to change this world to make it better
    54:15 Measures of Success
Greed as a measure of success
    Happiness
(56:10) never met an evil CEO
    58:30 Sustainability
    1:02:00 Fate Coincidence
    10:4:45 Change
    Bandaids

Many of the more "enlightened" CEO's also feel pressure to save the jobs for their employees, not just make profits, but again this is often regardless of the wider social consequences. This is also pernicious (keeps toxic industries going for the sake of providing jobs). A Federal Jobs Guarantee program would relieve CEO's of this pressure to "save jobs". My opinion is that the FJG is perhaps the most important item in the various proposed Green New Deals. The FJG should be legislated to allow people to do whatever work they love, not government dictated work, but merely government funded. It would then make a measly UBI utterly redundant and utterly inferior. Provided someone can prove they are doing social purpose work, it should be funded by the FJG, local administration, local and individual autonomy, government funded.

@ojjy123 He actually didn't say that the genes become dormant he said that they would if we lived in a world without scarcity (which we don't). Personally I don't think it will make any genes dormant so much as behaviours that are triggered by scarcity won't occur. It's really simple. When a person has more than enough they're more apt to be generous. When people have what they need why would they steal or be violent.

@businessbard if genes that we got from our early ancestors became dormant than why do our taste buds give a negative response to bitter things? Why do groups of people use in group renforcement and out group rejection in order to keep their society together (a system not needed anymore)? I do understand your argument and the videos were interesting thank you.

You missed out 4, people who actually care about other people.
What western colonialism did to your continent was an abomination and a grave injustice.
Human beings should see each other as family, not as food or predators. We need to get beyond that.

Wow the last part is very good. This shows how one sided and close minded TVP is, asking everyone to become engineer/technician in order to help TVP reach their vision of RBE society. But surely not everyone have passion/talent to be technician, the change has to come from all direction.

What I am going to do is read up on all the assasinations and hope to get a bit more clued up on the matter. Thanks for this video, going have to watch it again as so much to take in but as always very informative. Hope to write something better when it's not 0130 am.

@51:00 "spirituality" is the correct word, you don't need a "better" one. The non-physical abstractions we call justice, love, peace, honesty, kindness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, wisdom, humility, oneness, unity, trustworthiness, these are all _spiritual_ attributes. The idea that "spirituality" connotes some sort of idea of ghosts or quasi-material spirits has been dead for over a century, or longer, since the Enlightenment, those old fashioned notions survive only in the fringe where fakers and mediums and Tarot readers still find a living duping the naive and innocent.

John has definitely done psycedelics in the Amazon with the Shamans. As he refers to as ceremony in other videos. I guarantee you he has done Ayahuasca and that's why he has the viewpoint he does. If ya wanna know what I'm talking about just look up Ayahuasca on youtube. Ive never done it but have seen tremendous healing stories of the tribal plant medicine. This man is definitely doing God's work trying to convince us Americans to change.

@Xaphirezst Maybe because he has received quite a lot of attention, it would be very suspicious if he was suddenly killed now. Also, he has a lot of contacts and friends within the corporatocracy, who he has known for a long time and they wouldn't want to hurt him. But he did take a bribe, i believe it was 20 years ago, to not expose the truth. After 9/11 though he began writing his confessions in a book again and he was offered another bribe, but he refused it this time.

I'm only about 5mins into this and think he's said most of it i.e. How this world works, I don't know if he goes into any spiritual stuff later on, but I think he's spot on about how we are politically gullible, that only with the hindsight of age becomes obvious.

ALASKA with all of our resources, in some regions, we are defined as 3erd world. no education, drugs, and alcohol. while our land is being raped. the 14 regional corporations are pacifiers. same family's run this state and economy. native Alaskans have some of the worst education in the USA and compared to the rest of the world, we are falling way back.

The same is everywhere, native people are pushed to the edge. Natives like, red Indians, Canadian natives, aboriginals, Maoris, Zulus, and others in former British colonies. But there was one British colony which came out of this system, India. Reason, Gandhi. His movement created so strong an environment against British, they have to leave completely. This is time to go for non co operation movements against, corporations, Banks and Govts. Trade in older ways, do not buy stuff until there is dire requirement, push TV out of homes, barter or use cash. No cards. Educate yourself and Teach children at home about the new system. Once the people will start doing it everything will come on knees. In Indian state Punjab, we boycotted one telecoms and some retail companies. The owners started crying. That is the only way.

Well, it is obvious, someone’s had a profound experience, perhaps the profoundest of experiences, Mr. John Perkins. I feel terribly sorry, on the other hand, for all the people who are making and propping up the kind of deals at the expense of people, animals and nature. Doing what they do, day in day out, blissfully ignorant or sternly determined, it is impossible to get a taste of ‘that’. I know, what can they do, aren’t we all on a hamster wheel? Unless
