In SA the police don't ask for bribes from everyone. They judge the situation first. It's usually the locals that suffer😩 So you have nothing to worry about

Bribes - if the traffic officials catch you speeding or if you committed any offense, they let you know that they will issue you a ticket worth R2000 or unless you can go off "scott free" by paying R100... Almost all of them do this.
And no one wants to pay that fine
Once they talk about the weather just Kno it's time to pay the bribe

I loved the stage 7 loadsheding, that was hillarious. Unfortunately in South Africa people like bribing a lot. This is so common with the traffic officers. If they stop you the worst thing that can happen to you is to get a ticket so people just give them R50 and it's called cold drink and they let you go. Great video Fam ❤️
I'm about to have loadshedding in an hour...from 8 to 12:30 tomorrow morning. Literally had to get everything ready for work and school because we're having 2 hours of loadshedding again tomorrow during the time we get ready for work and school... I'm laughing but also, I'm not🫠

We have been experiencing stage 7 & 8 loadshedding this week..it's ridiculous..we had power for 4.5hrs on Monday..and because it was overcast our solar panels couldn't charge so we were sitting in the dark like that guy with a candle 🙈
They shake the taxis and cars like that to get more fuel in one go.. 😏 🤪
We do have drivers popping out of the car while spinning. Check out the spinning cars in SA. These guys are talented like mad crazy. Cars driving on they own...

I fequently wear SACP regalia. The police think twice before either soliciting a bribe or giving trouble to me or anyone i am with.
So with loadshedding there is an app that shows the schedule of your area, the power goes of automatically and comes back after the specified time as per schedule (depends on the stages how long it will be gone, we have stage 1 to stage 6 normally). Someone doesn’t come to your house as shown in the video. The video was illustrating that it’s so bad that the next stage Eskom will physically come into our houses and switch off our back ups😂 that wouldn’t happen but it’s a joke.

Its a norm to expect a traffic cop to ask you for a coke or R200 but they will observe the situation first

Its easy for ya'll to travel across America without needing a lot of documentation but in Africa, to move from one country to another, you need lot of documentation so if you not able to get that, you pay the bribe...
The bribes refer to pulled over drivers bribing trafficcops or people who failed their drivers license test paying a bribe to get a passing grade
Hai when you go for your licence you budget for the bribe, so you must have money for your lessons, booking the car and the bribe. If you fail, you get the bribe back sometimes they fail you because you didn't pay the bribe

Nah Bribery is different; it's not necessarily being hustled. Bribery is when you use money to go around the law or to get an advantage. If the cops pull you over, you palm them a lil something something for them to let you go. If you want to win the contract or the deal you pay the politician something on the side before or after - that's bribery.
Hustling is a different situation, at the borders it could be bribery - if its hustling it's because the person doesn't have something that they need so the money solves the problem. Rarely is it extortion unless there's a particular situation
