I'll part with my original copy of this recording under one condition - from out of my cold, dead hands! I'm so glad I bought this so long ago! Truly wonderful music and a gift to the world! Thanks for posting!
"...from out of my cold, dead hands!" LMFAO. Yes. That's about right. And yeah, it's a gift to the world, as you put it. It also appears to be something of a secret in the world, hidden in plain sight. It seems not many are lucky enough to find it. I guess that's as it should be. Peace to you, Ivan.
I heard this on our very progressive FM station when it was released on vinyl; so, I immediately went to our very progressive local record shop and bought it. Where it went, I haven't a clue. I am very surprised to find the title track here on this very progressive site. I now own it again, on vinyl and it's just as magical as it was when my ears had the pleasure of hearing it the very first time....And, all you progressive new age lovers of David Sancious are very cool....I didn't know I'd find any of you here. Groovy.
Thanks for posting this music. Been a fan of David Sancious for many, many years. His music is beautiful, transcendant, positive, adventurous and uplifting. If only the world could hear it and understand.
I like this beautiful song. It makes me wanna go to the museum and get lost in the darkness of the dimmed lights that glow in the dark. This song has been taken from the title selection in 1982 when I was 15.
I had a cassette of this album but it was damaged. Since it is out of print, I managed to get an mp3 of the entire album. Forty years later, this still stands the test of time. It sound just as good now as it did back then.
Thanks for this purely analogue upload from your disk. (Hearing the dust on your "Schallplatte") I have one crack too, when the song passes the very middle of that bridge. Loving the sound of his analogue synthesizers he played ones.
An old favorite track, and old favorite record to dream to. Very sorry it never made it to CD. Other good ones off this record: 'Flight of Light,' 'Invisible Dance.' And the Joe Stella cover is exactly right. Thanks for posting.
Just like old days --- whoever dubbed this from vinyl left the scratches and skips intact. Gods, if only this album were available on CD. I'd probably empty my bank account...
+Rob Archer Things like this are becoming available as mp3s. I'm so glad I bought "Dance of the Age of Enlightenment" as an import cd when I did. I haven't seen it since and it's my favorite.
I'd much rather have it on vinyl....it'll never be practical on cd; because, only we very cool people know of its existence and the small audience can't justify the costs of stamping out cd's.....
Honestly, this song is far too short. I have two cassette copies of this. One is still in the wrapper (and probably not even playable at this point). I burned the other to CD a long time ago and it has been in my iPod ever since.

I found an mp3 online. It's a great recording.
Sancious was Prince before Prince (without the shock gimmickry, no disrespect to Prince ❤️)

Cool Jamie. I love that you've got a still-sealed cassette of this recording. Beautiful :)
