My .02, OTF knives are practical for most EDC setups. One handed operation is nice and they are very safe. Your fingers don’t ever get near the blade when opening or closing the knife. Microtech OTFs are nicer still because they have a glass breaker just in case. I got my combat troodon for an anniversary present. I wanted one because I thought it was cool, and they had just become legal in my state. That was a few years ago and it hasn’t left my pocket since.
I've been using my trayvax armored summit for about 2 years now and I love it. I've tried to switch to a trayvax accent. Loved the leather on it but not the additional bulk. Ended up gifting it to my dad. He loves his new wallet and keybar.

dont go for the microtechs otf. i have three ultratechs and all of them get lint and junk stuck inside them, which impede the action. the neat thing with mircotech is if you open it up to fix the issue you void the warranty, so that means you have to send it in every single time it gets dirty

The sharpness and compact size of utility knifes are impressive. To non believer... carry a utility knife for two weeks, you will re prioritize your knife option....

In my experience as someone with a blackout edc I've notived that a lot of blackout items seem to get discontinued or special edition. Brass is probably so much harder though

Hey Taylor, Hello from the UK, another killer video I might add !! Here in the UK we have very stringent laws covering the carrying of pocket knifes/fixed/locking and folding and I was interested to hear you say that carrying some EDC on your hip allows more room for a bigger knife ? Iv'e managed to get to 50yo without carrying and I still manage to open all the boxes and packaging I receive, eat fruit, deal with salami and tighten the odd screw. if I'm (perish the thought) mugged the assailant will NOT gain a weapon and I will never be accused of 'Being That Guy'. I suppose they are a nice to have and some look amazing, possibly just NOT in the UK......Love the channel (5*****'s)
Thanks! And I don't carry for self defense. I feel I'd probably fare better with my fists than fumbling a knife that I'd like do a better job stabbing myself with. I've just always carried a knife since I was a kid and don't really give thought to why I often prefer big knives.

I have mostly black gear for me edc. One thing no one talks about it, is how easy it is to loss stuff in the dark. Don't loss the black flashlight.
