  • June 12, 2010--The Museum of Neon Art held a special studio tour of plasma artist Larry Albright's workshop in Venice Beach. MONA members got to see first-hand the making of this legendary genius. Several members were amazed by his work and found his workshop "inspiring, and something they hope to apspire to." Albright took us on a journey into his electric world with some funny surprises on the way. We got to see a Tesla Coil he engineered, his deco ladies, and a tiniest neon tube made for model used in the movie, "Honey I Shrunk the Kids." We can't thank Larry Albright enough for this great experience of neon, electric, and kinetic art.

I visited that studio in the 80's. He made a crackle tube for my neon lady. I never got over how you enter a small house to a tall concrete and brick studio in the backyard. He is astounding!
