The used car business has changed dramatically over the last 20+ years. Today the ROI is probably less then 20% where in years past it was closer to 50%. Competition is tougher the consumer is smarter. The lending institutions are tighter. The cars are harder and more expensive to repair. Acquiring inventory is just the 1 of the many challenges. As someone that use to purchase 300-500 cars a year at the auctions , nothing beats experience. Technology is helping the inexperienced buyers make better buying decisions but knowing who your buying from, knowing the auctioneers and knowing cars is something you have to learn too. And that's just a small part of the car business!
Your are not only reaping what you sow from those years of patience and hard work. It is encouraging as well as pleasing to see someone striving and doing something that you love to do. You are earning a living the fun way unlike most of us who are trapped in the hourly rut.
I won't say anything about your glasses ha ha ha,Listen...i have never been to a car auction before and have always wondered how it works,I got on youtube today and was specifically attracted to your video bcs it was shorter than others,I didn't want to be here for 40mins or more,So basically your video is short enough for me to watch and enjoy without getting in trouble at work,And you still managed to make it fun,Easy and very informative!,I have hit the subscribe button so i don't get left behind,Thank you for the video,All the stuff that you learnt over a period of time you've simplified and squeezed it into a slamming video!👍👍
Don't be afraid of ripped driver seat. Upholstery is about 100 dollars a panel. Some shops are fast we turn out cars for dealer flips in 1 day. eBay sells covers. That Denali seat base pulls out in seconds. 7mm bolt and bezel is eazy pick at I pull back bezel then I feel for side clips peel cover and foam up and you can see rear clip and heat plug. I even know trick to back base cover push down with your palms. Pull a little peek with flash light. Driver seat is only wear console lid is eazy as pie
Good insight! I enjoyed your perspective and guidance on the wholesale auction scene. Seems so risky buying there. It's almost like you need to expect that every vehicle there will have some issues, whether they're obvious or hidden. Thanks for the walk-through! -Chris
Tell us more about how you achieve that. Nobody wants a LEMON. But I guess they do happen. You said you buy randomly, does that add to your lemon count
Great vid man im new to the auction used car dealership business 5 months and you hit the nail on tje head with this one.. I always have a $$$ rule never over spend and get emotional 😭
Man, you are an honest man. That's a good thing. God will continue to bless you.❤❤❤. Thank you, for being a good man. Where are you located? There are too many greedy people in the world, That doesn't give a darn about anyone but themselves. 👹 They are real 😈 devil's.
Rust can be a big problem back east. Box frames can rust out from the inside of the frame outward and the frame paint and or the under coat will hide the rust, their is no paint/under coat on the inside of the frame to protect it. So if you see any sighns of rust on the frame or factory holes in the frame it is a big fed flag.
Latasha Sanders there are public auctions you can find at tow yards or state vehicles if you can find those. But no, you would not be able to buy at dealership auctions or there would be no point in anybody having licenses
Super cool to see the inside of the auction and how it all works no bullshit like these other youtubers with click bait they talk and beat around the bush don’t show you jack, subscribed after watching.
With so many cars now being leased for 3 years or less, I have some questions. 1. Since these cars tend to be in great condition, do dealers send many returned cars to auctions at the end of the lease? 2. Those sent to the auctions from a lease, are they lower valued cars or luxury models? 3. Do you try to make a buck from 3 year old turn-ins or do you stick to 7 year old and older models? 4. How does knowing you have a 3-yr car in good shape change the way you inspect it and decide to buy?
Just found your channel and thank you for the comprehensive walk around at the auction. I'm not a "newbie" to the car business, but a little behind the curve on the auction process. Again, thank you for a great video! And I subscribed!!!
I appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences and knowledge. Don't worry about all the clowns and naysayers. Make your money! and thanks again!
Triggred Spongebob Sorry for late response :) I had a body shop and I was selling auto parts, I closed my business in 2016, I like very much my job, but it was no stability, tough business.
@ColeGarrow take your checkbook/cash to your local dealerships (who probably already belong to another dealer) speak to the GM & Used car manager- good luck.
Bull. There are lots of reputable small dealers and there are crooked large dealers. Educate yourself when buying a car so you are not taken advantage of by any dealer, regardless of size. Know how to inspect a car or find a mechanic who does. Inspect for both mechanical and structural. Check online reviews and ask around the community for experience. Follow this guy's advice and screen quality only by the size of the dealership and you are asking for trouble.
A majority of our cars are from New Car store. We are the largest independent auction in Southern California, so we have great cars with no rust :) if you are far away we also have a great online sale. We are on Edge Pipeline.

Everything u just said is 100% on point I do exactly the samething as u say point by point that's crazy......that auction looks like a manheim.......or adesa.........I've been doing this for the past 10 years here in southern California....
You should play in the California carb laws, so many trucks and cars are only sold $CHEAP to dealers or exporters from California because of age or bad smog test. Great information Thanks!
best deal I ever got was roaming in the country and buying a rv van sitting so it had sunk into the dirt- 150$ drove it off- sold later for 3k@#$ I also have bought death mobiles lol rust

Hello Craig.. what is the name of the dealer app you use to scan cars for pricing & is it 1 time fee or subscription? Thank you for the videos you share😊
I bought my first Copart car, sight unseen, $275 total fees $528 but the yard is only open M-F, hard to pick up for me about 5 hrs. away. The Auto check said it was a "donated" car, an insurance stolen recovery, a run and drive, with a clear MN Certificate of Title. Whoever was selling it tried to "counter offer" at $1150 but I stuck with my offer and the next day I was notified the offer was accepted. They said I could have the car delivered for another $509. Without anyone to contact, I'm trying to negotiate that cost. It came with an extra set of wheels and tires. I could drive out and tow dolly it for about $350, in time, gas and dolly rental. It's a 2005 Mazda 3I with 115K, some rust around the rear wheel wells and on some edges. On the history it showed 3 owners with a lease or rental event. Hoping for the best, but I can always part it out if I have to. Thanks for your channel.
