My husband walked by while this video was playing and said, ‘oh, this is your worst nightmare’ 😂😂 Yeah I can’t imagine doing 5000 pieces of just sky and trees
@@PuzzlesWithBri 🤣. I got back into puzzles after decades, and the first one I got was 1000 pieces with an image I love. But I hadn’t done a puzzle since childhood, so I didn’t know that my image choice was nonsense. White/pink sky, white/pink/gray mountains are about 70% of the puzzle. Got the edges done, started trying to do the rest and 🤣🤣🤣🤯. Put that guy back in the box SO fast!
Hahahaha all these comments made me laugh so much! 😂😂 To be fair, I didn't pick the image myself, I have my dad to thank for that 😅 @ladycaruso The image sounds lovely, but I understand why it ended up back in the box 🤣
It's actually easier to tackle a giant puzzle like this, even if you do have the space 😅 Image is very hard yes, but with enough patience, anything is possible 😊
my mom loved to puzzle and she did a 13k puzzle, my dad made a frame for it and hung it on the wall. And even though she is no longer with us, every time I look at that wall I feel like she is still with us if you know what I mean. It’s such a soothing feeling. Congratulations on your 5k subscribers, I’m new here, but definitely staying ❤
I'm very sorry to hear that she's no longer with you, but I know what you mean that seeing the puzzle reminds you of her! ❤ This is such a small thing and she probably didn't even realise how much it will mean to you! It just warms my heart. It also goes to show how many memories, things can hold! 🥰 Thank you so much! 🤗
5K subscribers!!! Hooray!!! I know this is a difficult and frustrating image (never mind the number of pieces) but I want to encourage you that, relatively speaking, your progress is quite speedy! I've done a small handful of 5k and 6k puzzles and each one of them has taken me _at least_ 100 hours (125 for the longest). Currently Educa's 6000 piece "Entering the Bedroom" is under construction on a large table in the basement. I decided not to log the hours on this one, to just enjoy coming to it from time to time. I agree it makes sense to take occasional breaks - for me that means usually a smaller puzzle going on upstairs in the dining room. Love your channel; love the thoughtfulness you bring.
Thank you! 🤗 This is very interesting to hear, because I never have any times to compare myself with, so I had no idea if I'm fast or slow - not that it matters, but I didn't even have a reference 😅 Good luck with the Educa puzzle! I don't like Educa's cut, so I congratulate you for tackling a 6k beast! 👏🏻 I log hours only when doing a puzzle for a video, so I can give times. When I'm puzzling leisurely, I never record my times. And it's always good to take breaks, when doing a large puzzle! 😊 Thank you again, and good luck with your puzzle! 🤗
Congrats on 5K Janette! If you would finish this puzzle by the time you already have 15K subscribers, we'd all still be happy for you. Don't put pressure on yourself, just enjoy the (green) process. 🤗
Congrats on 5000 subscribers! This puzzle is clearly a great way to improve your skills on using piece shape to put together a puzzle. This puzzle is why you put together the "Polygon Lion" so quickly.
One of the best puzzle vids out there! I love that this was such a difficult puzzle, and you had the courage to tackle it, and record your progress. Not many people would attempt this, and you did. That to me is the sign of a person who truly loves puzzles. The challenge and obstacles you faced are real, but if you keep at it, eventually it will be complete. This was refreshing, as so many puzzle videos out there where the piece count may be large but the image is comprised of many smaller easily identifed sections. This was very cool to watch, you made serious progress.
Thank you so much! 🤗 By the looks of the comments, it does seem like majority of the people would not attempt to do this puzzle 😅 I know exactly what you mean by having a giant puzzle divided into smaller sections, which was absolutely not the case with this one. I'm glad that you enjoyed the video, and thank you so, so much for this lovely comment! 🥰
Definitely the right move to take your time and put the puzzle out of sight whenever your brain needed a break. This is so impressive and satisfying to watch 😊🧩💚💙
That puzzle is really difficult! I would not attempt it in 1,000 pieces much less 5,000 pieces. Complete on your own terms!! I enjoy 😊 your channel so much!
Oh my! This is a beautiful picture but so difficult to build!! So brave to go with it! Can't wait to watch the second part for the full puzzle! Really good job!!
It is important to take care of one’s mental health. We puzzle because it gives us pleasure. Kudos to you in recognizing what is best for you. Congratulations on 5K subscribers! Nightmare on Green Street will always be there when you’re ready to tackle it again ❤
Congratulations on reaching 5,000 subscribers! I really enjoy your channel and look forward to your videos. That picture is so hard to puzzle, not just cause it's a photograph with only 3 basic colors, but also because it's not that interesting as a puzzle picture for each piece. I mean each piece looks the same as a 1000 others, so to speak. Whereas a 5,000 piece with many objects and many colors is just more interesting to look at while puzzling. Why did your dad pick out this picture?? Maybe he just thought it was a nice view. But, it's not good for puzzling joy. Anyway, bravo to you for tackling this challenging puzzle!
Thank you so, so much! 🤗 It is definitely not one of the easiest pictures to puzzle, but to be honest with you, the water and sky sections were not bad at all. Just the green part is the hard one really 😅 I do understand what you mean with the pieces being the same and that not being good for puzzling joy. I think this puzzle is more of a challenge and seeing how far the patience can take you 😂 My dad said he picked this puzzle because it had the most beautiful picture - all others were some sort of collages and he didn't like that 😅 Thank you again! 🥰
Janette, what about using Donna Louise's method of puzzling on top of the part of the puzzle that repeats? I really appreciate your honesty. I am going through a frustrating time with a project myself. Always like watching your videos!
Yes, about that... When part 2 comes out it will all be clear about Donnalouise's method 😅 I'm sorry to hear that! I hope it'll be over soon or at least stop being as frustrating! 😉🤞🏻 Thank you so much! 🤗
Congrats on 5000! It's so deserved! This came out at the perfect time for me, I'm doing my first 5000 and I'm doing it at my parents bc I don't have the space at mine and they are away for 5/6 weeks. It's a really tricky image and I'm doubting it will be done before they get back! I've been avoiding going over there to work on it! But this was super helpful and I'm going to stop putting pressure to get it done in time and just enjoy it.
Thank you so much! 🤗 I'm glad to hear that the video was helpful with tackling your puzzle and yes, definitely don't put pressure on you to have to have it done by the time they come back. It'll just suck all the joy out of puzzling. You can always do it in smaller chunks and store it away if you're lacking space 😉
Welcome to the world of bigger puzzles. 4 to 6k puzzles is my sweet spot where companies still put all the pieces in one bag and don't split it into sections and doesn't take ages to sort if you disregard that and open all of them at the same time.
Thank you! 😊 That makes sense yes! I'm not used to giant puzzles, so I'm not that familiar with the sweet spot, but I completely believe you! 😁 I have a 6k Schmidt puzzle ready to assemble next, and it's in 2 bags, but I don't think I'll dare to mix it. Not after this 5k puzzle 😅
@@janetteandherpuzzles eheh Makes sense. The biggest hurdle for me is to find a subject I like and for bigger puzzles is not that easy as I'm not a huge nature guy and I can only do so much foliage before getting bored (not of the puzzle itself necessarily but of the subject). Biggest puzzle I mixed was the 9k Ravensburger that featured my favorite painting, the Tower of Babel by Pieter Bruegel the Elder and that was amazing. In an impulsive purchase I bought the 18k that was divided into quadrants (old nautical maps, I loved the subject) so I knew I wasn't gonna mix those because the maps are too similar to each other but I was extremely disappointed by the 4 lines/rows deep highly reflective golden border between the maps and on the outer border that I made the maps relatively quickly and then let it sit for years before I forced myself to complete the border because I was moving houses and needed to stash it...
I think the image is very important and if you don't love it, it'll be impossible to work on the giant puzzles! 😅 Well done on the 9k puzzle - it looks quite difficult to be honest. And the 18k one - that border does look insane. Well done on completing it! 👏🏻👏🏻 It would be a great piece to display somewhere though! 😍
It is amazing to me that you got that much done in such a short time. That’s a really tough image. I think it’s a good thing to take a break from larger puzzles periodically, especially if you have a large table where you can just leave it and work on a smaller puzzle. Congrats on the 5k!
You're not the first to say that. I had no time expectations, because I have never done a 5k puzzle before so I can't even have a time reference on how long it's supposed to take me 😅 But it is a tough image, that definitely needs breaks in between! Thank you so much! 🤗
😂 you are so oddly delightfully anxious. I think you should have your father or your sister or someone who loves you stop by on a regular basis, give you a hug and tell you it's going to be all right, One thing I find helpful, and maybe you do this , after shape sorting, is to rotate the boards and look at the pieces from different angles. ❤❤
Hahah thank you! 😂🙈 I have to say that I've noticed that when puzzling in pairs/groups, that when I changed place I noticed new things. So that a very good point! 😁👌🏻
Couldn't agree more! 😁 The green was a nightmare yes! 😅 But as long as you keep going, you will always be able to get to the end. It might just take a bit longer 😊
That’s an insanely hard image for your first 5000! Mine was Ravensburgers Space Odyssey. So many sections to sort so it was really fun. And yes, mine had a repeating piece cut of four sections. It helped a lot when I realized it was every 40-something pieces, I’ve forgotten now the exact count.
Space Odyssey doesn't look that easy to be fair, but it does have a few more sections I guess 😅 The repeat cut pattern is definitely a bonus with difficult puzzles, so I'm quite happy I had mine to help with the puzzle! 😁👌🏻
Congratulations on the 5k milestone! That puzzle looks beautiful but definitely not one I would attempt to do, especially as a 5k piece count. There are just too large of sections that are of one color even if they are different textures. I think, I would get overwhelmed and end up quitting. :( I hope you are able to finish it as I think it would be a great accomplishment and because it really is a beautiful picture. :)
Thank you so much! 🤗 It does look beautiful, but I couldn't agree with you more! I would have never picked a puzzle like this for myself, but since I got it as a gift, I thought it was worth a try 😅 I did get overwhelmed, but only when I had it fully displayed - so I know for next time, to always work on the puzzle in smaller sections, to avoid that feeling!
Well done!! A very very difficult image to choose for a 5000 piece puzzle. I think if you had chosen a more colorful one it would have been easier and less nerve-wracking.
Wow congratulations on such an important milestone! I'm super sad to see that you selected such a difficult image for your first 5,000 piece puzzle. This should be fun for you, not stressful! Seeing you struggle didn't bring any joy and I could feel the stress you were experiencing! If that puzzle doesn't make you happy then abandon it- that's just my opinion. I would hope that not a single one of the 5,000 people here would want you to continue a puzzle that doesn't bring you joy! Once again- congrats!
Thank you so much! 🤗 My dad got me this puzzle for my birthday and I think I just wanted to challenge myself a little. It only became frustrating when I had it out all the time and put pressure on myself to get it done in 3 weeks. Before that I was completely fine with it. Thank you for your lovely comment, it means a lot to me! 🥰
Well done on this puzzle progress. . I am watching this video on August 27th, so you are probably well on your way to having 6,000 subscribers if not all ready. And preparing for Worlds. 😂
Thank you so much! 😁 And no, I just reached 5k subscribers when this video came out, so I'm quite a while away from 6k 😅 But I am definitely preparing for the Worlds yes! 😊
5k puzzles are the best ! Of course, huge sections can be tedious, but you can as well listen to music, audiobooks or whatever you like while doing them. I hope you won't have experienced too much stress or pressure in the end. Each time I completed one, I would touch the whole surface of the finished puzzle with my hand. It's so satisfying ! I guess I'm not the only one doing that 🤭 And yes, I think there's no shame in using the repetitive cut patterns to solve it. One of the 5k I did was Ravensburger 17412. Almost the whole upper half of it is just sky. When I realized about the patterns, I just made my life much easier ! I wouldn't consider it cheating, at all :)
Your entire comment makes so much sense!! First of all - thank you for confirming that it's not cheating to use the pattern!! 😂👌🏻 And no, it wasn't too stressful! At least it isn't anymore I guess 😅 Your puzzle looks like a nightmare to be honest!! All that sky! 😲 I'm sure that that sky was like my green on this puzzle 😅 And to be honest with you, I touch my puzzles all the time... even before they're complete 🤣
Hi Janette! Big puzzles are really hard! The biggest Treffl 13500 puzzles for me - Marvel The Infinity Saga! ( The Ultimate Marvel Collection ) The 9x1500 piece puzzle was much simpler, but it was the same size as the 1000 piece, so it had much smaller pieces. Very monochrome, very dark and very heavy! It lasted for 197 hours. Some were 13 hours, and some were 30! I also felt that I had to do this, I wanted it to succeed, and I admit that I didn't enjoy it many times either, but the end result was amazing! I started using it after I bought a very good rechargeable flashlight, with it you can see the color difference better, if you look closely, it can often be a big help. Try it and see if it helps!!! Congratulations on 5000 subscribers. I hope what I said was understandable, because I'm still using the translator! Greetings from Hungary! Tommy ;-)
Hi Tommy! I completely understand how difficult the puzzle can be. Especially when it's dark and heavy! I'm glad you managed to finish it though! 😁👏🏻 Thank you so much! 🤗 And yes, everything you said is making sense! Translator is doing a good job! 😉 ____ Szia Tommy! Teljesen megértem, milyen nehéz lehet a feladvány. Főleg ha sötét és nehéz! Ennek ellenére örülök, hogy sikerült befejezned! 😁👏🏻 Köszönöm szépen! 🤗 És igen, mindennek van értelme, amit mondtál! A fordító jó munkát végez! 😉
Congratulations on reaching 5,000 subscribers! Did you managed to finish it already or are you now focusing on WJPC24 (have fun and good luck there) and will finish it after?
When I first put up the whole outline of my 9k puzzle (a much easier one to be fair), I was thinking: oh my, this is spectacularly big! - I think without that positive twist of it being exciting and completely insane I would have dreaded it quickly. I also never pressured myself to get it done.
Yeah, when you see the full picture of how big the puzzle is, it can be very intimidating - it was for me at least! 😅 I have to admit, that it was a lot easier for me to work on it in smaller sections, and I think I would do the same with other giant puzzles! Well done for completing the puzzle! 👏🏻👏🏻 I'm sure it was a great feeling once it was done! 🤗
Congratulations on reaching 5,000 subscribers! Maybe get DonnaLouise to help you while she is staying with you. Do a live stream, it would be fun to see both of you together and puzzling. Question, is that a puzzle hanging up behind you (the tiger, elephant, and zebra)? If so, would you mind letting me know the brand. Thanks
Thank you so much! 🥰 Oh, we will have so many live streams, that I think it'll be a bit annoying for you guys 😂😅 That is a puzzle behind me yes! I have them displayed in my living room now. It is a triptico puzzle (3x500) and it's called Animals, by Clementoni. I think it's a bit of an older puzzle, because I don't see it being sold on Amazon or Clementoni website. I was lucky to find it in a charity shop 😁
I am currently doing a 1500 piece one with a forrest motive, basically almost all shades of green and I have to do it in short sessions for my own sanity I hope to finish it someday
I completely understand how you feel!! 😅 But don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to finish it, just take it one day at a time. Or rather - one piece at a time! 😉
@@janetteandherpuzzles Hee hee, did he watch your video and your indirect comments?!🤭 He tried. Many of our family and friends who never puzzle gift us these types...you are not alone...my brother gifted me Hundreds and Hundreds of Pencils from White Mountain Puzzles. At least, at the very least,it has trained us to tackle harder puzzles better!
Maybe it would help to make notes for yourself about what you want to say and then cross it off when you say it on camera. So you dont have to repeat yourself 10 times and then worry about repeating yourself.
Hahaha yeah that's a good point! 😅 I just had so much going on, that the last thing I was thinking was to write stuff down. But will definitely do that for next giant puzzle! Thank you 😁
It actually wasn't that bad - well the green section is quite bad, but the water and the sky were completely fine 😊 There probably are many better 5k puzzles, but as it happened, I just got this one as a gift and decided to give it a go 😅🤷🏻♀️
5000 pieces puzzle need to be more sortable cause a small area on the picture is going to be a big section of 200 pieces for example and this amount of same looking pieces is frustrating I like the image but just for maximum of 1000 pieces
I don't envy you. Wouldn't even pic that image for a 1000 pc... never mind 5000. You are a brave woman.
Same, lol, this looks terrifying. I don’t think I would choose that for 300pcs 😂

Thank you! 😊 I couldn't agree more!! I haven't picked the puzzle myself, but I picked the 6k puzzle and it looks way better than this one!! 🤩👌🏻
Congratulations!🎉
Thank you! 🤗
Congrats❤ But omg! Why choose such a difficult (and boring) imahe😅😂 You are amazing! It counts for 10k hahaha!!
Hahahahaha I love this!!! 😂😂😂 And I got this puzzle as a bday present from my dad!! I would have NEVER picked it for myself 🤣🤣
Congratulations on 5K subscribers! 💗🧩
Thank you so much! 🤗
I just found you and subscribed a few hours ago. I've been binge watching your channel so this video came at the perfect time!!! :)
Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the content! 😁
ggod luck with the green
Thank you! 🤗
You have a couple of misfits at around 10:24. There’s a green piece in the blue area, and a blue piece in the green area.
Yes, I have noticed that on camera! It wasn't that obvious with a naked eye 😅 Thank you for pointing it out! 🤗
Haha I just saw that watching it and checked the comments to see if anyone else did 💕
I won’t leave a duplicate but I’m glad someone else saw it
5k puzzles are the best !
I guess I'm not the only one doing that 🤭
And yes, I think there's no shame in using the repetitive cut patterns to solve it.
At least it isn't anymore I guess 😅
Your puzzle looks like a nightmare to be honest!!
Thank you so much! 🤗
And yes, everything you said is making sense! Translator is doing a good job! 😉

Szia Tommy!
Teljesen megértem, milyen nehéz lehet a feladvány. Főleg ha sötét és nehéz! Ennek ellenére örülök, hogy sikerült befejezned! 😁👏🏻
Köszönöm szépen! 🤗
És igen, mindennek van értelme, amit mondtál! A fordító jó munkát végez! 😉
Congratulations on reaching 5,000 subscribers! Did you managed to finish it already or are you now focusing on WJPC24 (have fun and good luck there) and will finish it after?
Thank you so much! 🤗 I don't wanna spoil anything for you, but there will be a new video coming out on Monday with more details about the puzzle 😉
@@janetteandherpuzzles Oh yes! Almost a bit sad that it was over, though ;-)
🥰 Oh, we will have so many live streams, that I think it'll be a bit annoying for you guys 😂😅
That is a puzzle behind me yes! I have them displayed in my living room now. It is a triptico puzzle (3x500) and it's called Animals, by Clementoni. I think it's a bit of an older puzzle, because I don't see it being sold on Amazon or Clementoni website. I was lucky to find it in a charity shop 😁
@@janetteandherpuzzles thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it. I always admire it in your videos. And we can never get too much of you two lol
@@SueN1965 you can find it on Amazon in Germany: Clementoni 39307.7 - Trittico, 3x500T Tiere, Klassische Puzzle
@@vg4413 thanks
@@vg4413 no shipping to the US, but thanks for letting me know about it
I am currently doing a 1500 piece one with a forrest motive, basically almost all shades of green and I have to do it in short sessions for my own sanity I hope to finish it someday
I completely understand how you feel!! 😅 But don't worry, I'm sure you'll be able to finish it, just take it one day at a time. Or rather - one piece at a time! 😉
Have you pulled it back out yet? I'm really rooting for you!!
I did yes! There will be another video coming out tomorrow. I think you'll like it 😉
@@janetteandherpuzzles Yay!!!!!!!!!! You really were close! 💕
My first was the 5000 piece Pokémon puzzle of what I believe is all the original set.
I'd love a Pokémon puzzle!! 😍 It would definitely be more enjoyable than this one! 😅
nerves of steel you have😂
Hahahaha yes!! 😂😅
Your dad needs to gift you your next K...but colorful!!!!!
I already have my 6k puzzle ready and it's a lot more colourful! 🤩👌🏻
@@janetteandherpuzzles Yes, I am aware😊. Did your dad give you the 6K as well?
No, I have picked that one myself! Can't trust my dad with puzzles anymore! 🤣
Yes. WHY didn't you choose one wirh more variation 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉 . It's gorgeous. Have fun. Love you ❤❤❤
Yes, why didn't I, right?! 😂😂😂 Thank you and you too! ❤❤❤
Did I remember correctly that this puzzle was a gift?
@@clarkkent7973 This is correct yes! I got it for my last birthday! 😁
Thank you 😁

If you hit 9k sub please do the ultimate Ravensbuger Zodiac Puzzle 🧩
I already have a 9k Disney puzzle, but at some point, I might be able to do the Zodiac one as well 😊
Omg I would never do one like this. This is an image I really do not like.
Yeah it wasn’t a pleasant image, but I got it for my birthday so I wanted to do it 😊
Boy, that puzzle looks like a big pile of no fun....
You're not far from the truth 😅
This is a horrible design for a puzzle of any size, looks so not fun. There's gotta be a better 5000 piece out there somewhere!
I agree with you! 😊 I would never in a million years buy a puzzle like this for myself 😅
