Bruh this is fucking awesome and underrated, Love that you even put the map in, it gets so much easier to memorise or revise, really awesome overall. The song is surprisingly good to the ears. Hoping to find more of these.
1:58 LOL Just out of curiosity though, how exactly would it make the songwriting for this song easier if they were called "East Congo" and "West Congo"? If it was East and West Congo instead of DRC and ROC, what would the lyrics in that part of the song have been?
That's a good question, and a tricky one to answer... I can't exactly say that there is one clear way I wanted to write that part of the song, that the long names prevented me from doing. When I wrote the lyrics for these songs, I tabled out the country and capital names by region, and then I tried to see where the rhymes lined up and which country/capital names I would have trouble with. Then I tried to work out combinations that flowed as well as I could make them. It was tricky to work out the two Congos - particular the Republic of the Congo/Brazzaville, because it awkwardly takes up a line and a half of the melody. But taking that awkwardness and turning it into a joke helped me change the rhythm to work the country name in, and it helped highlight the difference between the two countries to help people remember. With that said, that is a compromising, workaround solution. It certainly would have been easier to write them in if they had shorter names; then I could have treated them like most other countries that generally fit into one line each...
Raikespeare Have you seen Black Panther? If so, u probably know that their country is called "Wakanda". Did you ever catch them mentioning a capital of Wakanda? If so, then I have FICTIONAL lyrics for that 2nd part of East-Central Africa. It goes: Kenya has Nairobi, and Uganda has Kampala, Wakanda has [insert capital here] and its king's name's Dijala, The DRC, Kinshasa, ROC has Brazzaville, Tanzania has Dodoma, and Gabon has Libreville. It works perfectly too because according to the movie, Wakanda is supposed to be a country somewhere within Kenya, so it fits the region. You won't understand this if you don't know about Black Panther, and again, don't take this comment too seriously 'cause it's a joke dealing with Black Panther.
@@shivajayaraman that would make the song bad It would also be misleading because he has to call the song "countries and fictional countries in africa" It will have only 1 fictional country
Bless your soul for making these countries and capitals songs. I APPRECIATE YOU.

Burundi's new capital is Gitega
Bujumbura is still the seat of government
Idea:
Burundi has Gitega and Rwanda has Kigali
Ofc it's already changed. Africa.
Ouagadougou is pronounced guadadooku
Cote d'Ivoire has 2 too. Yamassoukro and Abijang
This I think would teach me. But the piano over takes your voice 😢
Too fast
