Also showing the wrong 'Odd Couple'. When the series is mentioned, the picture is from the Lemmon/Mathau movie poster and scenes from the film. The TV series was Tony Randall and Jack Klugman.

Oh Wow!!! I remember when she got pregnant. And I was always under the assumption that they married Shirley off so she would be able to have a family. Facts Verse needs to get its facts straight.
    - Penny Marshall wasn't the "daughter of Frank Marshall, the show's producer." She was the *sister* of *Garry* Marshall, the show's producer. And you even talk about him @6:20 but then you _still_ call him Frank a moment later?!
    - It's David Lander not David Landers.
    - _Laverne and Shirley_ debuted in January of 1976 meaning it was in production since at least the fall of 1975. So how could Cindy Williams have auditioned for _Star Wars_ "in 1976" "before the show kicked off?" Also Williams was "nowhere found on set" when Carrie Fischer guested because *she had left the show entirely three episodes before that one.*

Regarding the Princess Leia question...my gut tells me that Williams would not have played the character as well as Fisher did. Ofc, this could be partially based on the fact that I, personally, never even saw Williams play a more serious role especially not a sci-fi character. Not to mention that no one ever knew anyone else BUT Fisher to play the role making it almost impossible to imagine someone else doing it better. It's kinda like imagining anyone OTHER than Christopher Reeves playing Superman in the 70s movie series... it's IMPOSSIBLE to imagine!

I love some of the Seventies shows, Happy Days along with Laverne and Shirley being some of them. Not surprised now, that there were clashes. A high level of achievement went into the shows by the actors so perfection is to be expected. Every decade has its hits and its primadonnas BUT if we expect quality we have to expect the egos as well!

I am going to say that all these people were true professionals. Who, sitting in front of their TV, had any idea there were personal issues going on? The viewers were far too important to be dragged into their petty squabbles. Love Laverne and Shirley.

I loved the 70's! Yes, there was so many great family friendly TV shows! Laverne and Shirley was one of my favorites!
By the way... I want to share a message... I hope it blesses you...
    YOU ARE LOVED:
God loves you and desires for you to spend eternity with Him, however, SIN has seperated you from God and from entering Heaven (If you have ever lied, you have sinned, making you a sinner). That is why God sent His Son Jesus Christ to save you, to rescue you from the punishment of sin, eternal Hell. You can not get to Heaven on your own accord... Your good deeds, being a good person, your church, your money... Can not save you... Only Jesus Christ can save you!!!
    WHAT TO DO...
Go to Jesus Christ with a humble heart. Repent and put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, yielding your life to Jesus.
    AN EXAMPLE PRAYER:
Jesus Christ, I come to you a sinner, I repent of all my sins and ask for your forgiveness. I believe you are the Son of God, that you went to the cross, died in my place, paying my sin debt and that you were buried & rose on the 3rd day to everlasting life. Jesus, right now, I choose to receive you as my Lord and my Savior, trusting in you alone for my salvation. I surrender my life to you and ask for your will to be done. I invite your Holy Spirit to come into my heart to make me more like you. Thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for filling me with the Holy Spirit and for your gift of eternal life in Heaven. Amen!
    NOW WHAT:
Being a Christian is all about relationship. You grow in your relationship with God as you spend time with Him, in your Bible, in prayer, in time of worship and praise. I suggest reading the gospel of John first, and then read the books that apostle Paul wrote, Romans through Philemon.

@Giada_De_Low_Rent_Tits Well said. I think I read somewhere that Cindy was uncomfortable working on the set because Penny always had her family there to look out for her. Still, despite the tension on set, they were able to do some classic physical comedy/slapstick together. The first few seasons were quite good, but then it started to go downhill from there.
