- Hey Everyone, in this video we are taking a listen to the new Russ Miller Versatus 14 x 4.58 Maple / Mahogany which is a new uprated specification of the original Versatus drum, again this has been designed by Russ Miller himself.

These drums all feature unique specifications such as the Artist's personal choice of heads & snare wire. Another first on this range is the inclusion of the Trick multi step throw off systems complete with Mapex branding.
Designed by Russ Miller, the Versatus Maple/Mahogany Hybrid shell, offers a Naturally Pre-Processed sound with just the right amount of Low-End, articulation and punch. A single SAS Ring on the batter side only, a unique bearing edge combination and the ideal depth/size proportion, all contribute to the perfect balance of strength, functionality, feel and beauty for all playing situations.
Personalised features on the new Versatus include Russ Miller's preference of Remo heads and Puresound snare wires.
Like with all our audio demos there is no limiting to enhance the dynamic response, no digital reverbs are used, the ambience is naturally captured with room mics. We recommend listening through headphones or speakers for the best detail.
The music used on this video is not a backing track. Rocky put the drums down first and the music was created and recorded afterwards, much like in a studio session to help demonstrate a more authentic feel.

Excellent playing ! This drum sits very well in the mix, but I’m especially fond of the Nuleus snare - I think it has a little more crispness to it.

Hey! It’s a blend of 3 mics, the one on the side which is a Shure SM7B then we have a blended mix of two top mics which are the AKG414 and an Audio Technica ATM350 :-)
