Warning this video may contain swearing.
This video and a lot of the videos on this channel are unsuitable for children (even when children's content is tackled because I often tackle the topic in an adult context such as for the purposes of analysis, parody and satire). Just because my videos may look appealing to children it doesn't mean they are, and under 13s should not be allowed to use UA-cam or watch this video or have a UA-cam account in the first place.
These DVDs are shelf fillers for the ones that have yet to be animated. I'm usually aware of future animation projects shortly after they are announced and I will have already pre ordered them, so please don't bother shilling them in this comment section.
Cheers.
This is my full collection for the time being consisting of official releases (with the recons filling in the gaps) ua-cam.com/video/oqPjTb9Svyk/v-deo.html
finding those missing episodes could takes months or years, in the year December 2012 news to the public that people wanted to find more Doctor who 1960s of William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton adventures, some were in animation even founded years later until COVID 19 pandemic breaks out last year, causing delays
Yes I know it is, so I might as well fill in the gaps in the mean time. If more get recovered or do get animated I will replace them.
I enjoyed the video and appreciated hearing your insights into making them.
Cheers
Awesome collection!! Love the casing and DVD art :D
The cases came from Amazon and this is where I got the artwork from christophersdrwhodvdcovers.webs.com/
@@DVDandFilmBloke Aw thank you for sharing! They're awesome :D
@@DVDandFilmBloke This might sound like a stupid question, but can I use normal paper for the dvd art casing or do I need a different type?
@@dragonbugz6715 Yeah sure, I used normal printer paper, depending on the printer it might result in some faint lines and they won't look as good as the real ones but once there on the shelf you can barely tell the difference.
@@DVDandFilmBloke alright, thank you
If you're in the UK mate go to CEX and grab some of the £1 DVDs that have the grey cases. I did that a fair bit with my copies
I already got a load off Ebay like 2 years ago.
I'm just watching his to escape from coronavirus news.
I can't say I blame you.
Imagine someone buying the Marco Polo serial on DVD, only to find that all they can watch is some surviving telesnaps.
I think if they did release Marco Polo on DVD, either animated or with telesnaps, I think most people who'd buy it probably already know what there going in for.
this is really cool. are you able to do a video showing the menus and how you designed the menus? thanks!!
Cheers, I don't think I will do a video on how the menus were made (mainly because there was so much I had to do) but I used a piece of freeware called DVDStyler which is quite easy to get the hang of.
Love the Granada intro there!
Excellent video 😊👍🏻
Cheers
This is quite amazing, How did you flash the video file to the disc to be playable?
I used DVD Styler to author the disc into an ISO file and you can burn that ISO directly onto a blank DVD R in Windows.
Hey, just looking for advice as i am hoping to make some of these myself, what paper do you print the sleeves on, how did you make the disc labels? And also, how did you make the main menus?
The menus take some time but I used DVDStyler to author them.
The paper for the sleeves if just regular printer paper and you can buy DVD label stickers online.
Hello, like your video. How do you print the color dvd disk art that matches the dvd case art?
Cheers, also I explain in the video.
Nice collection
Cheers. These ones are to slot in with the existing stories (which I still need to finish collecting).
Have you got or can you get my copies of 'Dimensions in Time' and 'The Curse of Fatal Death?' I'd love to have them in my collection as I'm a really big fan & would like the custom ones at least
I don't think I can send you copies but there both on UA-cam.
Just wondering how you print the covers off in the right size and good resolution? Cheers
I do it the cheap and probably worst way. I use MS Word, hold a piece of A4 paper against the screen and zoom the page on Word in or out in order to match the size of the paper (at least the horizontal size). Once they match, import the sleeve art (which is available online for free), then get a regular DVD sleeve and hold that against the screen and resize the art to match the size of the sleeve, then it should be the right size. If the closest you can match the zoom to the paper is a little too small, resize the art to make it smaller to match and vice versa.
Once you have the right size you can save the word document and use that as a template.
It's very clunky and there are probably better methods (and size templates online) but it works for me.
Have you made a custom dvd cover for the Peter cushing Dalek movies ?
No I haven't
@DVDandFilmBloke ah okay fair enough I'm surprised that it hasn't been released with the same cover as the main range of classic who dvds because they've released scream of the shalka on dvd so hopefully they release the cushing movies and the curse of fatal death on dvd in a boxset called the non cannon set or something and dimensions in time so it's a 3 dvd box set
How did you do the leaflet to Dimensions In Time?
It was from Christopher Loftus (at Christopher's Dr Who DVD Covers) who also made the covers, it was the only leaflet he made and is available for download. There's nothing printed on the inside by the way.
@@DVDandFilmBloke Cool.
@@DVDandFilmBloke Is it still available?
@@ryanstephenkristoferkearns1319 Yes
But the curse of fatal death is very good
Yes it is, I'm surprised they didn't put it out on DVD (even as a bonus feature) given it came out on VHS.
Are you the fellow selling these on Etsy? Because these exact designs are being sold on Etsy.
No, the sleeves are already available online for free.
Woah, do you know where I can get these?
The reconstructions came from the official Loose Cannon Dailymotion (although some came from other uploads) and the surviving episodes (such as episode 2 of Evil of The Daleks) came from the Lost In Time box set (the surviving episodes maybe on Dailymotion but Lost in Time provides better image quality and it's only fair), the only one that came from a different source was Galaxy 4 episode 3 which was sourced from The Aztecs Special Edition.
@@DVDandFilmBloke Alright, thank you very much. I won't be able to make DVDs like you, but I will be able to check out their Dailymotion.
Also I must stress, some of the missing stories have received official DVD releases with animation (such as Power of The Daleks and Fury From The Deep) so keep your eye out for any future releases and buy them officially. You can also buy the soundtracks but the downside is they only come in really expensive box sets (£70 or something for 5 audio only stories) and a lot of the stories that are featured are redundant.
Also if you have any plans on buying or selling these then don't because, just like with the Despecialised editions of Star Wars these are not for profit fan projects (my DVDs are the only copies in the world and I have no plan to make copies and sell them and if any of these get official releases I will buy the official release and make the recons redundant).
what software did you use to rip the files off the dvds?
MakeMKV
And the reconstructions came from Dailymotion from the Loose Cannon page, (although some came from different sources due to some not being on the Loose Cannon page) and I just use a video downloader, hunt around and see what works for your.
If you want to do it the most legal way possible rip the orphaned episodes from Lost in Time and the special edition of The Aztecs using MKV and use the Loose Cannon recons to fill in the gaps.
@@DVDandFilmBloke Thank you 😀
@@DVDandFilmBloke Also, how did you recreate the menus and what software did you use to make them?
@@IsaacSigmar There's a lot to go into but I used a piece of freeware called GIMP (a more limited photoshop)
where did you buy them from
@@alex17_edits I didn't buy them, I made them. I talk about it in the video.
How did you create the menus?
Using GIMP and DVDStyler
@@DVDandFilmBloke how much did you pay for it?
@@mrbluesky4838 Nothing (well the exceptions of the DVD menu design template which came from the official DVD releases).
@@DVDandFilmBloke fantastic because I’m thinking of doing my own
@@mrbluesky4838 Okay then, but I must stress make sure you only do it for the ones that don't have an official release, and also don't sell them on.
Are you the guy who sells online??
Nope I just work here.
And even if I wanted to I couldn't because 1: The cost of reproduction, because I would have to buy crap tons of DVD Rs, printer ink, paper, DVD cases etc and 2: It would be illegal for me to sell them for a profit, they are for personal use only and as such are the only copies in the world.
Oh ok, there a guy on eBay who’s selling these & they’re the exact same art & stuff, so I just thought you were 😅
@@tanyacasey1984 Oh, they sell the sleeves pre printed in cases (I printed my own off). The sleeves came from a chap called Christopher Loftus who lets you download them for free (others are available if you look around long enough).
Dimensions in time is terrible
Yes, I know it is. God knows why I burnt it onto disc.
Galaxy 4 preorder it now and evil of the Daleks is out now😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
Please read the pinned comment. Also this video came out last year so they weren't out.
