brilliant, just bought one and arriving in a few days - this was presented in exactly the way that I understand. I really appreciate your tutorial - this will be used for astrophotography in the main :)
where does it tell you , you need a additional laser beam to work with this unit? I thought it shot the beam and when beam was broken, it triggers shutter????
+Darryl if that was the case you would always have to line it up on a wall or solid object where you would have little risk of involuntary tripping the camera. By using a laser pointer facing into the receiver you get to set the width of the gate / bottleneck where you will guide whatever the triggering element is, human, wildlife or other projectile.
Erik Victoria you can set the sensitivity of laser reception, delay in ms from the moment the laser gate is triggered as well as the number of images to take which will also depend on how you have your camera set. There is a tutorial on Laser Mode in my videos so check that out for clarification.
Erik Victoria put your camera in single shot as each trigger signal will be sent individually. It should normally be synced to match the performance of your available motor drive capacity.
Thank you most informative and well explained. I want to be able to use my iphone but do not know how to download the Miop Ap are you able to tell me please
I think what i am finding disappointing on all people reviewing lightning triggers where you don’t have a storm to test in, is that you all put the flash light to trigger right at the sensor inches away. Show a better test with the light source much farther away.
Buy me a round trip flight to Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela, hundreds of lightning strikes per hour, and I'll happily test the lightning feature of the trigger. Improvisation is the key in many creative tests when real world scenarios cannot be encountered.
You don’t have to go to Venezuela for lightning strikes, they happen in a lot more regions. I was looking at this for lightning photos but I’ll just go with a different unit.
Thanks for this video. It is very thorough. I do have a question. I will be using this device as a lightning trigger. Do I have to have a smart phone. Alas, I have a dumb phone. I am assuming I don't need one but would like to verify.
Thanks for this info! I am trying to buy a trigger to use with my two LumeCubes as flash pops and trigger the shutter on my Panasonic G85 when light painting at night. After seeing your flashlight example, it looks like this could do the trick! I was looking at the Pluto trigger but the fact that you don't need an app to use this one makes it better, since I will already be using anoterh app to fire the LumeCubes. Thank you for a great video!
You mentioned the USB port to recharge the battery from computer but I see there is no cable ?. So where do you get the cable to charge the battery?. Well put together video.
Great review. They are wise to make their cables not black. So easy to tell if it works with the device.

Awesome, all the best with the adventures.
I agree, it’s a fantastic device with absolutely No support. No phone number, no email, no way to get in touch with anyone in the company.
FANTASTIC UNIT FOR WILDLIFE, HAVE HAD SUCCESS WITH SOUND. NOT GOT ON TOP WITH MOBILE AS YET,

Very good video, but please drop the music while you and takling. Its drivning me mad.
Point taken.
On laser mode, does it only take one shot? Can you set it to fire continuous high speed shots?

The PixelHobo I saw that video to.... I'm just wondering if I can use my Canon's built in high speed continuous mode

Jay Wolf just a regular USB cable works for recharging. Cheers.
Ok cheers, though you'd think they would have supplied one, especially for how much we pay for it. Thanks again.
Jay Wolf they do, sorry I didn't make it too clear.
The PixelHobo
That's ok but I never got mine, I only got the flash cord and the camera to unit cord. So I will contact them, thanks again.
