  • On May 23, 2019 a cold front associated with an area of low pressure in Quebec Canada, sank down into Upstate New York. Mild instability with high westerly mid level winds resulted in a rather low topped, but intense thunderstorm squall line. Winds likely gusted to near 50 mph as the storm downdraft moved through from the west. Also of note was rather impressive southerly warm inflow being ingested by the storms prior to their passage at the beginning of the video. It was quite fascinating to see the wind shift from southerly to westerly within 30 seconds as the squall line passed over.
