Nice fiddling! Great tune. I grew up in the western N. Dakoata and the Hell and Toe polka could have been the state song. It is great to hear the other two parts in the Jenny Lind. I have learn my mandolin version from your video. I turned the Jenny Lind into a great pinky developer - I do not play the song without using any open strings - always put the little finger on the 7th fret of the lower string. Great exercise! Thanks for posting your great tunes.
I didn't even know there was a 3rd and 4th part! here in Massachusetts we just do part 1 and 2, typically. She plays a very relaxed and nicely finessed rendition. Question - how old to you have to be to be an "old-time" fiddler? These two look pretty old but I should talk- I'm 63! But I play tenor banjo! Does that mean I'm an "old-time" banjoer, or an "old-old time" banjoer? Or just old; since there is not such a thing as a banjoer? Maybe there is now? I'll let the philosophers work it out.....
I saw this video probably about ten years ago, and still think it's the best fiddle recording of this tune on youtube.
Grand playful version. Thanks!
Lovely and smooth!!!!
