- HotHands Hand Warmers- amzn.to/3ISE59o saved us when our power was out for three days during the big Austin ice storm last month. HotHands are great to have in an emergency kit in your house and in your car. But what about for daily use? I answer that question in this video as well as How hot do they get? How long do they last? and What is inside them anyway?

Bought some of these for the first time today. The hand ones. Really blew me away. Popped indoors for lunch, and was amazed how much they'd gotten hot in the meantime! Only ever seen the hand ones here in the UK, though.
We used them for winter cub/boy scout trips!
Yes, they would be perfect for that!
Thank you for this. I appreciate it.
Thanks Tanya!
A fantastic item for rideshare drivers to have in their glove box 🥰 thanks for this product review 😉 @Blessed2know you!
That's a great idea!
thanks
Good video. As a motorcyclist, my hands get cold sometimes. I wondered, are they waterproof if my hands are wet please?
From what I have read a small amount of moisture shouldn't impact them too much. But as they need air to pass through them to create the reaction that produces the heat if they get really wet they won't work. This article explains it pretty well-

@@parristx Many thanks.
Great video, Parris! I'm just curious. . . If unattended, can this start a fire? Also, what is the proper way to dispose of these?
Like I said, I am just curious. .
Hope all is well!
If you are talking about a paper or wood fire- so long as the HotHands fabric cover is intact and keeping oxygen from getting in too quickly I think it unlikely. If you cut open the fabric cover and add a stiff breeze.... Here is a news story about this type of handwarmer possibly contributing to a fire that was started by another heat source- www.wkyt.com/content/news/Lincoln-Co-fire-officials-say-hand-warmers-partly-to-blame-in-car-fire-501504792.html The FAA says HotHands type handwarmers are safe to bring onto planes- www.faa.gov/hazmat/packsafe/more_info/?hazmat=50#:~:text=Disposable%20warming%20pads%20using%20carbon,carry%2Don%20or%20checked%20baggage.
I have a 1 year old daughter and we are planning a trip, can I use the warmer ? is it good for babies as well ?
❤❤❤
Can we reuse them?
No, the warmers utilize a chemical reaction to produce warmth (oxidizing iron if I'm not mistaken) they are disposable and not capable of repeated use.
@@Ethan-uy8uy thank you so much
@@Ethan-uy8uyHi, I saw a video with someone taking one and put it in a plastic bag and said that they can be reused that way. I haven't tried that at all so I don't know if that would work or not though.
Before he even touch it his hands is shaking...
